Some questions about the game

I just came back from the game.

1. Kris Brown has a strong leg (although he seems to have lost his accuracy), but on kickoffs he seldom makes it into the end zone. The only reason I can come up with is to try to get turnovers on runbacks. But we haven’t had an elite special teams for a while, and the short kicks seem to lead to better opposition field position more often than not. A coaching decision?

2. At the end of the 1st half, having 2 timeouts left, and still letting the clock run down to :01 while only hurried running up the middle plays. I had one of those WTF moments. A coaching decision?

3. There was a play in the 3rd Q where the Seahawks player blatantly was losing the ball before he hit the ground and fumbled it. But it was given back to the Seahawks. The replay on the Big Board made it quite obvious...............and there was no red flag challenge. A coaching decision?

I welcome any comments to clarify these situations.

I saw two and three as well and those are the reason Gary should be gone after this season no matter the record.

Coach Joe loves hang time. The announcers were commenting that we're near the top of the league in punt and kickoff coverage.

It looked like they had some trouble getting the play called and everyone set on the last play. It worked out alright, minus KB shanking the field goal.

It was a turnover on downs regardless. No point in wasting a challenge.

somebody already mentioned why they didnt challenge the fumble.

to this one we only had one timeout left not two...

take some of your plentiful advice to kubiak about watching the game a little closer /snarky dig :)

The only time you should kick it into the end zone, is if you don't trust your special teams to limit the return inside the twenty. We may not have an elite ST, but I believe we're among the better STs in the league.

If I were Kubiak, I won't even attempt a two minute offense, or a quick scoring drive until I was sure the Texans have demonstrated they can play mistake free on a more consistant basis. I know most people blame Gary for that. But it is what it is.

I don't even know what the rule is anymore about challenging a fumble. I believe if it wasn't ruled a fumble, it can't be overturned and posession awarded to the other team. Yes, I still think we were screwed in the Indy game.

didn't we use our last timeout on that drive? the whole last minute and a half of the 1st half was really weird.
