NFL Power Rankings: Week 14

Who cares? We all know they suck, but have potential, but can't hold on to the ball, but are only a few plays away from 10-2......blah blah blah blah

They are 5-7 and deserve a bad ranking. It's who they are. And that will not change until they change who they are.
 
a culture of losing is hard to eliminate. on paper, this should be a 10 win playoff team. i think they really need to bring in a coach who knows winning.
 
If this is a good ranking, we won't beat the Seahawks this weekend.

The other thing the Texans could do is have Kubiak enchant the national fans as well as he does Houston's. Then maybe his mediocre team could get that power ranking and respect it hasn't earned.
 
if i were a texans fan, id pray the cowher rumors were true.

the last half decade the Texans management has stated that "finishing strong" when there is nothing on the line is somehow important. I kinda bought into that before but it doesn't work for me anymore...and I don't see how the players can find confidence in beating two teams with a combined 18 losses this season.
 
you find solace and make excuses for things... thats WHY they need a good coach. a well coached team has pride, and doesnt need to be told why they should play to win.
 
I didn't realize the drop off after the top 3. I was in disbelief when I saw the Packers were #4, but I can't say I can 100% put someone ahead of them after looking at the list.

that's probably a tad harsh. We are not the crap team we used to be, and we are much better than the bottom feeders in this league. But we certainly can't be in a discussion about playoff teams. I think a ranking of around 20 is not far off the mark.
 
id say a strong finish would be best, but tbh i think the best thing that could happen would be for the texans to lose out. 1) it would force the organization to make changes. it seems like its been the same for years; preseason, everyone says this is houstons year. and every year, they stay in the conversation right up until about this time of year. something needs to shake it up, rise above mediocrity. 2) this is going to be a talented draft, and a high pick will help.
 
(that was a joke, as is the title... kind of a tongue in cheek thing.
