Texans to sign Henry to active roster

I'm told the #Texans will be signing RB Chris Henry off their practice squad.

Texans signing more Tennessee trash to their roster. Do not expect Henry to play(Arian Foster was promoted and has done what and/or has he seen any action? Answer: No). Roster move is going to need to be made unless someone goes to IR(Slaton?)

Henry is pretty good...running in straight lines. His only minor downside is that he isn't very physical and he doesn't break tackles and isn't very good at making tacklers miss.

Question is: Will he see any time? Doubtful. Even Moats has a hard time getting carries despite being productive for the most part while being in there.

Wow this is really depressing.... For all those people clamoring for Arian Foster, this isn't a good sign at all. If Foster can't even beat out Chris Henry then I'm going to have to completely write Foster off as far as future plans go.

Chris Henry sucks.

I think Henry is better than most give him credit for. Why not give the guy a chance before beating him to death with a baseball bat?

The guy isn't Walter Payton, but he's also not had a lot of chances with the great ground game ahead of him in Tennessee. I know one thing - the one time Henry played against the Texans, he absolutely abused us.

Foster was never brought up to the roster to play RB, he was brought up to play special teams and fill in in case of emergency at RB.

So if I understand the situation correctly he's a beast as long as there's nobody else on the field.

so your telling me there is a chance

I've got hope for the guy. I don't have any choice.

It doesn't get any worse than Chris Brown as our #1.

If Slaton is that bad off, why bring Henry up, if not to replace Moats? Kubiak will not take Chris Brown off the field, there's no reason to replace Foster, so I am assuming he plans on reducing Moats' touches.

Moats must have done something to Kubiak's cheerios.

For the life of me, I can't see why he doesn't like this kid.

This

He did tear up the Texans defense when he got the chance. Not that that is saying much.

At this point I have zero confidence in our GM and Coaching Staff's ability to judge and utilize talent ...... especially the "utilize" part.

it cant hurt to get a look at henry sometimes a change of venue does a player good it's not like we're in a playoff race :bender:

Moats has blocking difficulties, His only problem. So Gary Play Moats on running downs and CB on passing downs, just do not let CB throw another ball.

huh? He has 122 total yards in 3 years. Not against us, but against the entire NFL.

Fisher and the Titans have also been stubborn with Henry, who survived cuts when Quinton Ganther was hurt in the preseason finale but who was clearly not one of the team’s best 53 players and certainly was not worthy of being among the active 45 the last two weeks.

Henry was a second-round choice out of Arizona, 50th overall, in 2007. The Titans got wowed by his combine performance but forgot to give sufficient weight to his football instincts.

If a fourth running back is in the game-day mix, he’ll have to be a better special-teamer than Henry was.
ie. he is a straight line runner. http://espn.go.com/blog/afcsouth/post/_/id/3973/titans-admit-mistakes-make-moves

Wow, C. Henry and C. Brown. Both ex-Titans for a reason. Henry is a workout warrior that really looks the part, unfortunately, he usually runs up the butt of his blockers far more than for positive yardage. He will show just enough promise to hang around for 2 years and suck paydays.

I think this means Slaton's exam in Dallas didn't go so good. According to McClain, Henry has looked good in practice. I for one would like to see if any of these guys we have on the ps can play.

Arian Foster deserves his shot.

I agree. I would really like to see Foster in a real game. However because of where we are at in the season now, it's almost time to start our annual debate about drafting a RB high in the draft. LOL

So that makes 5 RBs on the active roster......and they all basically suck in their own special way. :gun:

I actually like slaton. He brings alot to the table with his pass catching. I dont think we need a workhorse runingback, just one good enough to move the chains and spell Slaton.

Kind of like how Denver is using Knowshon and Buckhalter this season.

I think Slaton will eventually be exactly what we initially drafted him for, a 3rd down back. We need the Barber, Jacobs, MJD, Mendenhall, Benson, Rice, Moreno, Forte, etc., etc.
