Why can't the D ever pressure the QB?

It's like this every game, no pressure, and Garrard running around like VY.

Because they aren't good enough.

Also our secondary sucks.

Because we have coaches that think Tim Bulman and Shaun Cody are good enough players to see the field.

Because we haven't invested enough early round draft picks on the d line.

That much is certain. They aren't getting around anyone. Rarely does a Texans defender overwhelm his opponent or fly past him. Nobody on the other sides offensive line ever seems to be tossed aside like a rag doll the way Myers does for us

Yes they do. The one thing I'll say in their defense is that the Texans line doesn't exactly hurry anyone. Most QB's take as long as they need to find an open man when playing the Texans. This is a pressure problem as much as it is a coverage problem. We can't get pressure and our secondary isn't good enough to help them with coverage sacks.

You know, we have drafted defensive linemen with monotonous regularity, we sign expensive free agents to play on the line every few years. We have invested more time and money in this one spot than anywhere on the team and yet STILL to this day I look out there and I see guys like Bullman, Cody, and Zgonina being relied upon. It blows my mind. It's like the Texans have made it their mission in life to locate and draft every first round DL bust they could get their hands on.

The lack of production at this position ought to be enough to get some people fired. Babin and TJ I can hang on C&C, Mario though appears to be able to play if he's 100% which is like a home run for this franchise but then Okoye is complete ****, Antoine Smith is like Weaver but with extra added personal fouls at no extra charge.

Because we don't jam opponents WRs at line of scrimmage, making QB hold ball while he waits for WR to get open helping DL get to him

I never understood that, we have all these 1st rd. pix invested but yet can't getta finger on any QB. I don't know, the only thing I do know is we have the wrong personnel still and that needs to change we are still the laughing stock of the NFL and will until we prove them wrong.

I'm slightly confused here. Do you just mean on a small number of drives? We got 5 sacks, and knocked Gerrard around all day with tons of hurries. Our d-line did their job for the most part. Our secondary killed us...along with 1 1/2 quarters of Mr. Hyde.

10 yard cushions can suck it.

We got good heat today and held them to 3 points in the second half.

This does seem like a curious week to complain about the pass rush. They got 4 or 5 sacks(depends on how it ends up being scored), and knocked the crap out of Garrard a bunch of times.

On the season they have been pretty poor though.

Because the WR's are always open.

Today we actually got good pressure, imo our best overall of the season. Not just because we got sacks but because we were knocking down Garrard as he threw. Unfortunately the myth of our secondary all of a sudden playing better with a pass rush is just that... a myth. We pressured Garrard and he still was able to make plays in the passing game because our secondary sucked.

I really miss Eugene Wilson and Glover Quinn

We had a lot of pressure on the Jags all day today.

That is one of the bright spots in this game.
