Looking for Advice for First Game

Hey all, I would really appreciate some help here:


I'm looking into going to the Seahawks game as an early Christmas present, and would appreciate any advice about getting tickets that I could get. For example, I've often heard there's seats to avoid due to the sun and such.

Likewise, I've never been to a pro game (only my alma mater Midwestern
State games), and am really worried about being behind people who will obstruct my view. My wife is short (5'1") and I'm afraid of spending a lot of money on seats where we won't be able to see past the people in front of us because of signs, etc.

Also, the MSU stadium here in town has no end zone seating, but it seems as though these seats my be better to watch plays unfold (I'm a big fan of watching the secondary when my team's on defense), does anyone have a preference they'd be willing to share?

I'm not too picky about tickets...but I've been seriously considering paying for a row A in a higher section than, say, a row AA in a lower section because I'm worried about being able to see everything. How hard is it to see the action from the 600's?

Any help anyone can give is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone, I'm looking forward to going!

Dude it is pretty easy to see over people in this stadium the seats are steep so to speak, If you get in the Bull Pen plan on standing the whole game as we encourage all to stand with us as we cheer our team to victory, DO NOT GET A SEAT IN THE BULL PEN IF YOU WANT TO SIT DOWN, PERIOD.
A seat in the upper deck above the Bull Pen or above the quiet zone would be ideal for watching the plays unfold, your high enough to see the feild while still being relatively close to the feild. They are the 300 endzone seats and will be cheaper than Club seats as you will find out. Really there is not a bad seat in Reliant come on out and enjoy the victory we might hand you.

I also forgot to ask about children. We have a 9 month old that we would be bringing...they wouldn't charge for 3 seats if she's going to be in her mother's lap, would they? Is there anything I should know about bringing her with us?
 
I have 2 seats in section 353 row J for sale. We are in the endzone in the shade and the seats are $68 per ticket (face value). Plus, you get to sit with me :glasshalffull:

Dude you can bring your kids and lap kids do not pay I do not think you should call 832-667-2000 punch 0 and ask your questions. We the Blue Crew would like you to come out and Tailgate with us we are in the platinum lot and would love to have you. We will be in the parking lot at 7am so make your plans to come early and enjoy the pregame festivities. :specnatz:

Children under 2 are admitted without a ticket. From the Houstontexans.com website FAQ section:

At what age are children required to have a ticket?

All children two years and older need a ticket to attend the game.

With a 9-month old, I'd avoid the Bullpen (section 116-117) as it can get a bit rambunctious in there. It is also the "sunny side" of the stadium.

Awesome. I appreciate all the help everyone is giving me. I'm sure the answer is no, but are there any opportunities to get anything signed by the players? Obviously Andre would be a preference, but any players really would be awesome. If not, we'll probably try to make another trip during training camp to get autographs and such.
 
If you get in the stadium early you might get someone but do not ask me I rarely get in any earlier than 11:15 at a noon game
 
I sit in the 600's and the seats are fine. Sometimes its a bit nice to be up that high as you really get to watch the plays develop.
 
My family went to our first game last week and sat in 347 (that's the end in the shade). My 6 year old and 9 year old were able to see easily over the people in front as JT said, it's steep. The crowd was sitting, making a lot of noise and stands as needed. Had my 6 year old stand on the seat when we were standing and he could still see. I liked the elevation, we were close enough in the corner to be able to read the names on the back, but elevated enough to see formations and easily watch the plays develop. I sit in the endzone for the UT games which is cool...but I like that slight elevated position better. Sitting in the 600s like Mojo is probably not bad at all as the levels don't move away from the field as much as the seating chart makes it look, but I'm guessing you probably can't "read" the names on the jerseys. Kids had a blast, and would highly recommend you visit the Blue Crew in the Platinum lot...(they are in the closest corner to Reliant if you are in the Blue Lot) for some good grub, penata bashing and good people.

You are correct...hard to read the names on the jerseys...but knowing what # they are helps.

I have had many friends and family sit with me and they all thought my seats were great. I have friends that sold their PSL's in the lower bowl and moved up with us.

At the end of the day...its up to you to make your experience unique and fun. You should be able to do that in just about any area of the stadium.
 
Thanks alot for the help, everyone, we're really excited! I got some tickets from GlassHalfFull in 353, and my wife and I are looking forward to it. I really hope I get to see us murder the Seahawks!

Good, you will be in the shade and have a great view. The visiting team enters through the tunnel at the other side of your endzone, and the Texans will come in from the same sideline as you but at the opposite end of the field, and your side is the Texans sideline. They were lauching shirts into your area with a slingshot last week. Bob's suit is just behind yall.

My son actually caught one of the shirts, or would have if HonoringEarl hadn't interferred. Fortunately, a ref called the foul and Sean came home with the shirt.

I'm nervous about this, though. I'm used to yelling and screaming at my t.v., but even though 70,000+ will be screaming also, I might feel weird doing it. Strange, huh?

I was fortunate enough to use those seats at the Niner game and they were awesome seats. Katie was excellent company but when the game gets exciting she has a claw that cuts off your circulation from the knee down. :D

Seriously, I highly recommend talking with GHF about getting those seats.
