The Team Played Well Enough to Win, But Our Kicker Has The Yips!!!

Wow. When the pressure's on, Slaton chokes on a 3rd and 10. When
the pressure's on, we get Kris Brown a kick in his wheelhouse, and he
SHANKS IT!!!!

The Texans are now in a MUST WIN against Indy, because they've lost
to the Titans. Sunday, our season either goes on, or it dies at the
hands of the Colts. This all sucks right now.

I thought they played pretty poorly overall. They had no idea how to stop VY, barely slowed down CJ, and looked sluggish and out of rhythm on offense.

Then KB killed this team again.

Wrong on both counts.

They didn't play good enough to win, and their season is over.
That's the stupidest thing ever said. They were in the game the whole time with a team that's getting it's act together.

If your a fair weather fan take a hike.

Listen s**theel, they scored 17 points at home against a team with a horrible passing D and an average rushing D, in the biggest game in the team's history. Just because you are in the game doesn't mean you have played well.

If they win tonight, they are at least 50/50 to make the playoffs. With the loss, that goes down dramatically. Maybe 10/90. Always a brides maid, never a bride. This game was absolutely vital to their chances. Dems da facts, sans the sugar coating.

You act like VY and CJ are a couple of scrubs. Brown misses two kicks.
If he makes two, we win. If he makes one, we're playing OT.

This team DID play well enough to win. It was a 4-quarter war, and we
lost because our kicker became unreliable in the first set of meaningful games
this team has ever had. Last year, when we were already out of it, he was
NAILZ. Now that we NEED him to do his job, he has the yips. At the
level the Texans are currently playing, each game will be won on a single
play, or maybe two. That's it!

VY impressed the hell out of me today. As a passer, he's much more
selective on where he goes for the ball. On 3rd and 5, he's a monster
because you can only key on Johnson for so long. You can't blitz him,
because he finally gets the ball to his hot receivers. This game was
a total war, and we need our kicker to do his freaking job!

Who would have thought that our offense would be our downfall this season? Our O-line got dominated all game, Schaub played decent but still held onto the ball too long at times and KB goes 1/3. Weak.

We had the same argument they now do after 3 games. Their argument
starts after six games. Their ENTIRE SQUAD is playing better since the
QB switch. I don't see them losing any 59-0 games for the rest of the
season. They still face the Jags and Colts, so we'll see how they do.

Kris Brown needs to retire. It's time to go in a diff. drx. Any arena football kickers need a job?

Pathetic letting the titans come in to your house and smash you in the mouth. Slaton's dropped pass for a possible 1st down, horsecollar BS call, and AJ dropping a key pass. Find a way to stop VY in the run, he just totally punked our D.

Schaub had a below average game for him. He held on to the ball too long at times and other times he threw the ball low. He was lucky he didn't throw 2 interceptions.

They had 2 weeks to come up with a gameplan to contain VY's legs. They didn't even come close.

I don't care how good CJ is, if you want to be called a good defense you have to be able to slow down their running attack. We didn't.

Our game plan looked like we were going up against Manning, and showed zero adjustment toward the run/scramble strength of the Titans.

2 weeks.
0 adjustments.

the defense got shredded on the ground today. While Kris Brown might have dealt us the final blows, the game was lost on the ground by our lack of ability to stop the run. Between VY and CJ, the Titans totaled 224 rushing yards with a 5.4 yard per carry average.

when you give up that much on the ground, you are going to lose most of the time because you control the clock and wear the defense out.

Kris Brown would have given us a chance to win in OT if he makes one of those kicks; however, the game was lost by our ability once again to not be able to contain VY and CJ in the running game.

Can I say it? We had 2 weeks and a day to prepare for the Titans. The offense sucked and the defense gave up 3rd downs all night to Vince Young and Chris Johnson. We are never going to put the 2006 draft to rest if the Texans continue to choke over and over and over...Mario has looked very ordinary this year. Maybe less than ordinary.

Then two goats are obvious -- DRob and KB. But their OLine owned our DLine all game. I saw more than a few holds, but that's not an excuse. Overall we were beat down in the trenches on both sides. We let the Titans play their game and couldn't match them.

We'll get em next year. That is the Texans yearly battle cry. 2010 is our year. Playoffs or bust.
