Do the Texan players understand...

Rasputin

Mystic
the level of hatred that Texan fans have for the Titans? Do they "get" how much a win against these fools really means to the fanbase? As a Texan fan in Austin, it not only means sticking it to that bastard Bud Adams and his hillbilly Tennessee buddys, it also means I can point to scoreboard and laugh as I deal with the endless VY sausage party manlove.

It's time for the players to understand it's more than just the next game on the schedule. I want to see the same passion from the Texan players that we the fans have about pummeling the Titans. I want to look at them on Monday night and be able to say "Yes, I think they now feel the same way about the Titans that I do". I want to see them play with controlled rage. I want them to smother Tennessee and not let them breathe.

Do you think that the players really understand the level of importance the fans place on these Titan games?

Did you not watch the last game they played? They hate each other.

I would have thought the multiple fines and 2 minuite long fight on the sidelines would have proven the hatred.

I know the players who do radio shows know how the fans feel, because whenever they're about to play Tennessee people call to remind them.

But I'm pretty sure it's hard for millionaires to be rage-filled against other millionaires. They'll never care 1/10th as much as we do.

considering the fights last game and Andre Punking that lepercon last game yeah i think they understand

I doubt that. When the ball is kicked, the reason they're millionaires in
the first place comes out, COMPETITIVENESS. If you don't know what
it means to compete, then you'll utter a phrase like the one I bolded.

Wow, nice sweeping judgement of me, there. I'm actually quite a competitive person, believe it or not.

As fans, I think we have a LOT more "rage" against these guys than the players have against each other.

I hope the sidelines have several igloo coolers full of Battle Red Haterade!!!!

Let's crush the Upsidedown Thumbtacks!!!!

Does that look like RAGE!!!!!!!!!! to you?

Sure, they don't like each other. On the field, I'm sure they hate each other - I just think the use of the word "rage" was a bit much. It's probably a semantics thing (which is my fault).

Or, it clearly means that I don't know what it means to compete... :spin:

I really take comfort in this board right now. I mean......I know it's a game and the world is no different Tuesday no matter what happens Monday night, but to see the style of writing by many old and new members tells me we all WANT this game. It's like the feeling you get before a fight. "This mf'er can hurt me, but not today. Not right f'ing now he isn't."

I take comfort that this means what it does. Since I've been here I haven't seen this attitude among us. A by-product of a good team with a credible chance. I love it. :texflag: :texan: :texflag:

I want to win this game more than anything in the world. My nerves are shot, not because I think we'll lose, but because I dislike this team so much. Its like the feeling you get before you used to fight someone in school. You want to kick their ass so bad it gets the adrenaline flowing big time. Come Monday night, I'll be nice and buzzed and ready to see the Texans whoop some ass! :jam:

As to the question, I think there is some dislike towards the other team, but not to the level it used to be back in the day. Jerry Glanville, and Sam Wyche used to hate each other, and it carried over to the players, and the play on the field. I'll never forget the game where Wyche ran up the score on the Oilers, I was so mad. Those were the days.
