VY homers and Titan sympathizers

From what I gather, most people who aren't Texas fans and root for the Titans think Vince Young is a pretty piss poor QB. I think more people in Houston/Austin love VY than the ones actually in Nashville.

I really hope Young's "stellar" play against the 49'ers, Bills and Jaguars gets him a nice fat contract extension.

He has a fat contract due next season. If he stays and we just take him he is something like 14 mill on the cap.

So what do the Tennessee Bud Adams's do? (BTW, I love Bud flipping off Buffalo and I would too if I got to watch a game in Buffalo) More importantly though, what would Blazing Arrow do?

In hind sight we should have picked up the renegotiation offer he and his agent wanted at the beginning of the season. Now it is hard to say. I think 3 games is not enough to really judge his performance but he is not doing anything special. I put in another post that he is really only get 125 yards passing per game.

He is not running around like goon in the backfield like he did in his first for seasons and seems more poised in the back field which is a really good thing. Jury is still out in my book. If he keeps the ball moving feeds Johnson a lot and keeps the turnovers down he could be a solid weapon.

Even if he does all that. . .

$14,000,000?

True, i have spent some time up in Kentucky for work, and there alot of Titan fans up there. They personally cant stand him as a qb. He gets killed on radio and tv up there.
Its clear that VY is more popular here than he is in his teams city.

You can't pay 14 million to a guy that is sub par, as an NFL starting QB. There will be plenty of VY fans wearing Titans jerseys, bank on it. Hopefully our offense will score 30 plus points and put them away....GO "D" !

The word is that Vince's camp has shown a willingness to renegotiate a new deal that would alleviate that cap hit to keep him a Titan. You know Bud wants to keep Vince., and Fisher may just retire and become a standup comedian full-time. who knows what is going to happen in that soap opera of a franchise. just a pathetic excuse for good ownership.

hopefully Cush and Ryans can lay the wood to some of these fools that have been running their mouth. oh wait, its only the defensive players running their mouth. how convenient.

I used to respect Bulluck and like his game, but after that towel no-class incident and with the the way he has run his mouth this week, he hasn't been the same player since 2007. Dude is washed up. There is going to be some freaking hitting in this game. Texans off a bye might start slow but I think the Texans win the day and sweep the Titans again. The Titans blow.

No. You think Bulluck is 'washed up' because his numbers went down the last two years. That was due to Haynesworth being a freak. Before Al woke up, Bulluck was always top-10 in the league in tackles and he is now doing that again. Not his fault he has no one in front of him to take up guys, he makes the plays he has to. Hate him because he's confident, but don't pretend he can't play.

classless, i love it

Classless to me would be what you guys imagine Finny does every game, or what Al did, or a chop block or Rodney Harrison's career, or Bud flipping off the Bills. Trash talking is part of the game. You just called half of the league classless, some of you guys have very thin skin.

I would love to see Vince go to Dallas , Carolina , anywhere but Tennessee .

Or being an ass like here. Gawd what a POS organization you guys have there.

No.. Some of us do our talking with our play on the field.

Signed,

Exactly what SH and I were eluding to. Classless.

Guess the Steelers got the last laugh there, huh? I used to loathe the Steelers but I gotta say, two of my favorite players in the league, nontexan, are Hines Ward and Troy Palomalu. Love the way they play the game.

If I had to pick an overrated puh cee (as TB says) .. Finnegan .. I can't stand the guy ... freaking scrub

They sure did... Gotta give props to Hines Ward and Troy Palomalu!!

troy's shampoo commercials are coming dangerously close to the creepiness of the burger king commercials

While I think Fisher is a good coach , I do believe he doesn't mind his players crossing the line . That's why they are called the NFL s dirtiest team .

Their trying to pull a Karl Malone and tell the Texans , hey we're coming to kick you ass , the problem is the Texans have beat them two times in a row .

In summary , punch the bully in the nose . Beat his ass and make him like it . Like pulling the teeth from abominable snowman .

You guys will at least admit that in neither game did AJ get all of his stats against Finnegan, right? I understand that Finny has trouble with a guy AJs size (he will his whole career against guys like him) but probably more than half of AJs big plays have come against a zone or on Harper's side. In other words, he hasn't continually abused Finny 1-no-1.

I just want to know if you realize this.

No in the chronicle today CJ is talking also.

Of course we realize it. AJ's stats would double if Finnegan was covering him 100% of the time.

Fisher learned under "Bounty Bowl" Bud Ryan.

I think he encourages all that ****.

Cheap shots are coached.

I never denied that

It's an interesting match up.

The Titans have lived by the run but the Texans have been lately good at shutting that down while historically very poor at it.

The Titans have lived on stopping the run and while the Texans O is built off running they have been proving they can pass first this seaosn.

The Texans have lived on the pass while the Titans are good spotty opportunistic in the secondary and spotty pass rush.

The Texans lately have lived on stopping the run and making QB's win so can VY prove himself to be a passer and not just a 3rd down RB.

We'll see. I'm optimistic but suspect there is going to be an action packed and possibly brawling game that may go beyond the norms for either team.

Yeah sorta feels like there will be an explosion on the field Monday night.

I think we'll see what Frank Bush is all about. Even though we've been shutting the run down... (sort of, Buffalo ran the ball pretty well, & they don't have Chris Johnson) I think this game will come down to 3rd down conversions.... & it doesn't matter if he passes or runs, or flicks the ball to Johnson, Scaife, or Crumpler.

I understand we "lead the league" in forcing 3 & outs, but this will be a new dynamic that we haven't had to deal with before. Delayed hand-offs are pretty effective against our aggresive D, and a QB that will stay in the pocket longer, then run would be much worse.

Again, I don't think VY's passing efficiency is going to decide the game, but his ability to help the team convert 3rd downs.

& while we are on the subject, their defense has been allowing less than 35% 3rd down conversions over the last 3 weeks..... & we've got a 300 pound offensive gorilla that we don't want to acknowledge.
