UH With 2 Losses

No, the Texas Bowl is now a Big 12 bowl.

The Coogs have to win their next two games against Memphis and Rice and hope that SMU loses one more game. If that happens, the Coogs would play in the Conference Championship with the possibility of the Liberty Bowl.

But as it stands, we have to hope SMU stumbles or else they play in the Conference Championship.

The Coogs will be in a bowl, but it won't be the Texas Bowl.

It's funny how Texas is taking so much flak for playing UTEP and UCF and yet those teams both beat Houston.

Oklahoma St and Texas Tech couldn't even do that.

Keenum is the real deal but the guy needs a little bit of help from his defense. It's just unreal how bad they are on that side of the ball.

The D was not as bad as they usually were today. The offense, despite gaining 423 total yards, had a bad day by their standards. 2 turnovers in the Red Zone and 1 turnover deep in our own territory coupled with the fact that the Coogs could never get the run going killed us today.

The Coogs need to absolutely crush Memphis and Rice the next two games.

That should end the Heisman talk.
A bad day for Keenum is better than just about every other QB in the country. What did he finish with? A paltry 377 yards? Yeeeaaahhhh .....

As stated above, the Heisman is never about individual performance anyway, unless you happen to play for a glamour school. Thus, this loss didn't really impact his Heisman chances anyway.

And he's still the best candidate out there, not that it matters.

Ndamukong Suh is the best candidate, if we're talking best player in the country.

you have to have an absolutely ludicrous season individually to get Heisman talk if you team isn't that good. Barry Sanders, for example. or Larry Fitzgerald

I agree, but the award is a joke these days and it will go to the team that has the best player or a top 5 team player

Not so fast there Speedy .... Keenum's numbers over the course of the season are still pretty damn good .... He has to be in the mix .... And Im a UT homer.
Nope....

1. His team has 2 losses now
2. the conference he plays in
3. the offense he plays in lends itself to stats
4. ....the conference he plays in
5. he's not tim tebow
6. did i mention the conference he plays in?

He was reluctantly put into the conversation before today and now that the coogs have 2 losses, that all but freezes him out imo, mainly because of the conference bias and the love affair the voters have with one timothy tebow. Someone help me out, was ladanian tomlinson invited to NY when he had his amazing season at TCU?

Tebow being first in everyone's voting is pretty much a joke. but he basically has it wrapped up since preseason and has to be absolutely abysmal to lose it. lucky him.

Oh no, I agree. I think Keenum should be, at the very least, making the trip to NY. I'm just saying that the Heisman talk is done for him because he's in a non-BcS conference with 2 losses. He's most likely off the national radar now because of that, even though he'll likely end up with the numbers to run away with it.

I thought the Big 12 affiliation started next year and not with this next game?
C-USA would have filled the spot for Navy had they not become Bowl eligible. The Cougars will likely visit the Liberty Bowl, or the Hawaii Bowl - maybe even the RLC Bowl in New Orleans. The Texas Bowl gets the #8 Big12 selection. Next year, the affiliation will change to Big 12 #6 vs Big Ten #6 (currently the Insight Bowl has this selection).

The Texas Bowl chose to end their tie in with CUSA even though the best attendance they have had was for the UH-TCU matchup a couple years ago. I don't get it.
