While the Texans continue to strive for their first winning record on the field, their fans are already world-class competitors in the fine art of tailgating.

According to Forbes Traveler, Houston now holds first place as the best tailgating site in the NFL, beating out such pretenders as Kansas City, Buffalo — the site of the Texans' game Sunday — Green Bay and Philadelphia.

The magazine, which compiled its top 10 sites with assistance from Joe Cahn, the self-styled Commissioner of Tailgating, cited Reliant Stadium's spacious parking lots and the wide rating of steaks, barbecue and other items that create a “Texas-style culinary nirvana” outside the stadium on game days.

Rounding out the top 10 on the Forbes list are Oakland; Denver; Foxboro, Mass.; San Diego and Miami.
 
Well as great as that is to be listed as such, opinions vary and to just be named as one of the best in the NFL is all that counts.. I am sure each team has great tailgaters, and that to say one is better than the other is like saying which lot is better than the other. I have been to Buffalo and their tailgates, I have been to NY and theirs, and I say they have pretty bad ass ones as well...
Something for us Texans fans to be proud of, but there are way too many other great tailgate places all over this country to say honestly who is the best.. We might do it bigger, which I am sure we do !!
 
We'll be checking out Buffalo's tailgating this Sunday. I have NO doubt they will do a bang up job, as do all the other tailgates in the NFL except Dallas. Those folks just don't have a clue!!:)

You are correct... I cannot tell you how many times I have been there and just look and shake my head...
 
As you all know Joe Cahn came by and it was not the Piniatta that nailed it it was the Red, Purple, green, Blue, Teal, Platinum, Yellow and any other color that is a Reliant Parking Lot. Joe told me that he tailgates at all the lots of all the Stadiums and said that Houston has always, since day 1 been a very good tailgating city But this year he said we tipped the scale. Which I believe is a great honor for all of the Texans Parking lots.
