While the Texans continue to strive for their first winning record on the field, their fans are already world-class competitors in the fine art of tailgating.
According to Forbes Traveler, Houston now holds first place as the best tailgating site in the NFL, beating out such pretenders as Kansas City, Buffalo the site of the Texans' game Sunday Green Bay and Philadelphia.
The magazine, which compiled its top 10 sites with assistance from Joe Cahn, the self-styled Commissioner of Tailgating, cited Reliant Stadium's spacious parking lots and the wide rating of steaks, barbecue and other items that create a Texas-style culinary nirvana outside the stadium on game days.
Rounding out the top 10 on the Forbes list are Oakland; Denver; Foxboro, Mass.; San Diego and Miami.
