Cowgirls Fans at the Game(s)

Your team is not playing so don't wear your Cowgirls apparel to a Texans game. This especially goes to the douche who wears the huge foam Cowgirls hat that I have seen the past 2 games around the 516 section.

I get it, we have fans in Houston who like the Cowgirls, but don't wear gear to a game they aren't even playing in. When I went to the Broncos game a few weeks ago I purposely did not wear any Texans gear because it made no sense at all. I saw a guy with a PManning jersey and some Buffalo Bills fans at that game as well, and they got more crap than the Patriots fans who were there watching their actual team play.

I get it, you can wear whatever the hell you want to wear, but when you come into our house wearing a giant foam Cowgirls hat a line has to be drawn, especially when you are playing AT HOME vs the Falcons. Head up I-45 to Jerryland spend your life savings, enjoy sub-par tailgating, and wear Cowgirls gear from head-to-toe.

I understand you want to enjoy the best tailgating in the NFL and enjoy reasonably priced seats and concessions, but please for heaven's sake leave your Cowgirls crap at home, or in the car until the game is over.

It is classless, distasteful, and stupid. No matter what NFL game I go to, unless the Texans are playing I won't wear any Texans gear to the game.

Off my soapbox! :wild:

That's worse than this fail.

Eh. Wear your colors. Nothing wrong with doing that. I'll always wear my Texans jersey no matter what stadium and no matter who's playing. It's all about going to a football game and having a blast.

The foam hat might have been a bit much but take one gander over at the bullpen and one shouldn't complain. I'm not saying it's a bad thing out there in the bullpen. I actually love it and am devising an elaborate getup of my own but the point remains... Wear your colors with pride is what I say. I get a lot of heat wearing my Texans garb in Austin.

I completely agree with you JW. It makes no sense to me, and it's something I would not do, simply a personal feeling. I just think it's classless. The only time I've ever done that is when the SB was played here. I wanted both the Pats and Panthers fans to know we as Texans were their host, and I was respectful to both teams fans, although the Pats fans sure tried my patience.

Yesterday at the game when I saw said gear, I happily got the loser' attention and told them, either Cowboys suck or your team sucks. And just laughed at them as I walked away. Your right Comboy gear has no place at Reliant stadium unless the Cowboys are there.

I noticed it too...I really dislike seeing these like that. I want to ask them where are they?? I saw one lady at the St. Arnolds tailgate with a pink Cowboys jersey. I just stared and shook my head.

When I go to Titans game during the holidays when I am home, I just wear regular clothes...I won't wear Texans attire...because they are not playing...I try to be respectful when I am in another team's stadium as a visitor.

I can almost understand Cowboy fan in Houston. They won some Super Bowls way back when. But the ones that I really cannot fathom is Titans fan. They wear Titans gear to a game in Houston not featuring the Titans. (or they live here and still like the Titans) Once Houston got the 32nd team, it was time to cut your cord from Bud Adams. The stooge stole football from Houston! He never lost money here! Get over it and join the Texans fans.

I think it's more of them wearing Vince Young jerseys than Titans jerseys. Vince IS from Houston and has a large following as a result of that.

I could be wrong but it's just what I think.

Another thing that kind of rubbed me the wrong way was after the game a group of people in the Yellow Lot decided to blare the old Houston Oilers song. You know "We're the Houston Oilers, the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers #1."

Uhhhhh.....WTF?

Outside of the large foam hat and this incident it was an AWESOME day! If only we had weather like that every Sunday!

No matter what jersey one wears, we all go to the games to watch some NFL football just the same.
I think it was more of WHAT he was wearing more than WHO he was supporting, but either way it ain't right IMO.

I saw another fan with a Texans shirt on but a Cowboys hat and I can live with that, but not decked out in full costume.

I saw her too...she looked a wee bit confused didn't she?

Great phone call to 610 this morning, Joe Texan! Nice to hear you prop both the Bull Pen and Gridiron, Tx., and I got a chuckle out of you calling them out with the Barry Manilow concert blast. :howdy:

I think many would be surprised at the number of Cowboys fans that hold PSLs for the Texans, so there is a vested interest there while still supporting their own. I can guarantee that the animosity is one-sided. It would be most surprising to see a Texan fan in Cowboys stadium, but any attention drawn would be more out of curiousity than anger.

yep. I have yet to meet a Cowboys fan that hates the Texans. Most of them just can't understand the Cowboys hatred and one-sided rivalry for two teams that are in the same state, different conferences, and only see each other in the regular season every four years.

True. The last time the teams met, we were down in the first half. No one was lamenting that we're losing to the Texans, rather, Bledsoe needs to go, put Romo in, anybody except the Statute of Liberty! The same response would have been if we were playing any team in the NFL.

Also, at one of the preseason games the Texans fans were booing when our owner was shown on the mini-tron in his stadium. I wish I could have taken and sold pictures of the puzzled look on the Cowboys fans faces.

I am an die-hard card toting Cowboys fans, so I hope this doesn't happen. But, could you imagine Carr being in the right place at the right time and end up with a Super Bowl ring?

If they invest in PSLs why not a Texans shirt at least, not even a jersey just a shirt, doesn't even have to be nice, maybe from Wal-Mart.

My guess is Cowboys fans already have their rivalries with their history. We don't have much history and thus we don't have many rivals really. Tennessee is probably our biggest, but outside of that we don't have a big rival. So as Dallas may not see it as a rivalry most of us do for whatever reason it may be. For me I just dislike Dallas and all their sports teams, but that's just me. It started from a young age and grew from there before the Texans existed.

If you live in Houston, own a PSL, and go to all the Texans games why is it so hard to put on something Texans and leave your giant foam hat at home? Wait until after the game put on your Cowboys gear go to a Sports Bar and watch their game? If you are going to be fans of both teams don't half ass it.

I guess living in Houston you don't meet them.... come on over to San Antonio, wear your Texans gear, and I'll introduce you to the rudest, foulest, most hateful Sowboy fans on the face of the planet when it comes to the Texans. Ask any one stuck in Dallas South what their experience with Sowboy fans are....you'll all wake up LOL

To answer the first question, I will answer with a question. If the Texans declare a white-out day, why do Texans fans insist on wearing Red even it it's the same color as the opposing team just because the wardrobe includes a red jersey and not a white one?

I am not as bold as big hat, but I do have my earrings, bracelet, t-shirt under the jersey, and color coordinated sneakers, pictures of my experience in the new stadium just in case I run into the brethern. (smiles)

I don't question your experience, but I am acquainted with a lot of the brethern, and I am yet to find one preoccupied with the Texans.

yea they did but for some reason I thought David had been a Giant for 3 years now..and was there during that SB. Guess not. Thanks!
TexanBill responded before I had a chance, and Carr was with Carolina when we gave the SuperBowl to the Giants.

Well my invite was to Double Barrel, but I'm a cordial old man, you're welcome to come over as well...but leave your sowboy gear at home, that way you can get the full experience :)

So you could be cordial to big ole me? If there's food I will come, but to ask me to be stripped of anything Cowboys related is just wrong.

Sure I could, I have relatives that support that team, of course they're loud, brash, a-holes, but I always treat them nicely. Food? Sheesh, you stated you were big, I'm on a fixed income LOL And how can ya get the treatment from your brethren if they know you're one of them? :)

Hey, flatout, I admire those guys on this board that support both teams. It's a farcry from what I run across daily in dealing with boyz fans. Most are hard pressed to name any player on the Dallas team other than Romo. I can't respect ignorance, and a big mouth :)

Those can be found on any team, and if for some unfortunate reason the Boyz become a 2-14 team, they will be off to the next team, Texans when they become winners. I am fully aware of our roster and whose one it, who comes in, who leaves, weekly reports, stadium pros and cons, you name it, I know it. I can understand lack of respect for ignorance to anything beyond a team's name, or somewhat the knowledge of the team can be compared to see Spot run, yawn.

Agree.

Also agree from my experience Star that I haven't been around or met any cowboy fans preoccupied about the Texans or rude about them....but I know there are bad ones in every fan base...like that radio guy in San Antonio who was embarassing.
