... or not. Seriously, you guys have always been respectful, I am here to return the favor.

I just wanted to drop by and say hey, nice game today.

We have a game coming up in a couple weeks. I am not looking forward to it, personally. We suck, really, really bad. Today we beat a Jets team that was out of sorts. We did manage to find Sanchez's ultimate weakness... the dude can't play in the cold. So it really wasn't anything we did, and the good thing for us is, we can chalk up later season games as being a bit easier then should be expected against the guy, and we get to play him twice a year. No, I am not going to kid myself that as awful as we are playing that we may see the playoffs anytime soon. But even with 6 ints we had to pull off an OT win scoring only 16 points. Our o-line has proven to be a joke, Edwards has been horrible since his last concussion, and he added another today. So that should make him infinitely worse. Our special teams... well they should just be called teams, as there is nothing special about them. IMO Marshawn is not all that, but Fred is impressive. TO, well he can't seem to hold on to any balls we get to him. Our offense just doesn't know how to get into the endzone. Jaraun is a joke, and our front office is just as bad.

On that note, I hope we win (hey, I'm a Bills fan :bat: ), but I wish you guys the best of luck, a great game, and a game with no injuries.

And sadly, I pick you guys to win, 20-9...

Two long suffering franchises/cities. We got along very well during the Eric Moulds saga, even if it did end up favoring the Bills heavily.

Good luck, we'll be coming off a tough game.

I have a question for you sandt38. Is Marshawn Lynch going to get the majority of the carries going forward?

Yeah, he really is our feature back. Freddy is really our third down guy. I think it's a shame Freddy has had to sit behind Marshawn and McGahee, as the guy has some talent. But the coaches see it differently, as do a lot of our fans. I think it's his (Marshawn's) stupid gold teeth that are blinding them

Both teams struggling mightily.

Both teams coming off an emotional victory.

Both teams primed for a major letdown.

Only one team playing at home.

We shall see. :boxing:

I would have rather seen Moulds retire a Bill. I still wear his jersey most sundays.

San Antonio is a suffering city? That's a shame. I spent a couple weeks there in the early 90s with a buddy who was stationed at Lackland. It was a really cool city. We spent most of the 2 weeks partying at the riverwalk. I also got to spend the 4th of July there that year. Good times.

Since I left Buffalo almost 20 years ago the city has really suffered. The population is almost 1/2 what it was then. It's a shame really.

Bills should stick with the old uniforms. The old buffalo logo is much better.

It took me a while to get used to our charging bison, but I really like it now. I did prefer it on the white background from the late 70s and early 80s, but the red then grew on me. Now, I love the red background and charging bison. It has been a long period of mourning... uhh, I mean growing.

But I do prefer their throwback jerseys, from the old AFL days over their new unis. Those are sweet.

???? :foottap: It's the Houston Texans.

HA! Sorry, my friend on here is from San Antonio. Shinerbock_girl. I had a brain fart... too much beer today.:drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk:

Holy moley... I was confused but shrugged it off. The San Antonio Texans?

*sigh*

We really need Jacksonville to move to Los Angeles ASAP. We need the media coverage they will bring.

Sorry about that. Shinerbock_girl and I developed a great friendship a few years back. I always associate the Texans with our friendship.

I worry about us going to LA. Seriously, the way the fans are treating the players (spraypainting a huge penis on McKelvin's lawn), the coaches and front office (the fans rented a billboard on the 190 in Buffalo insisting on the firing of the front office and Jauron) and the owner (the fans are constantly mocking his mental faculties because of age), there is a seeming hatred brewing. The players express their dislike of the fans' behavior, and ownership seems not to care what the fans think. Sure, TO sold us out this year, but what about next year? I don't see him coming back, and empty seats will lead to Wilson maybe looking elsewhere.

But that is conjecture. I pray I am wrong, otherwise I may need to become a Texans fan and hang out with you guys... We can't have that, can we? :D

Hey, you just beat the Jets. They kicked our ass!

No, seriously, the weather beat them. Sanchez was out of his element. Our pass defense is pretty good, but our run D is awful (they racked up almost 300 yards on the ground!). We picked Sanchez off 6 times, and only managed a 3 point victory, in overtime, after only scoring 16 points. Our offense is deplorable. Remember, we lost to Cleveland last week after allowing Anderson only 2-17 for 23 yards and a pick. Our offense is horrible, and our ST really suck.

We got lucky.

I'm looking forward to this game. I took vacation to go to buffalo and have tickets front row in section 111 which I think is like the 40 yrd line behind the texans bench. Bills Fan? what is the tailgating like up there?

Some of the best in the country ;)

I lived on the left coast for several years and got to see the LA Lambs, Raiders, and Chargers at home, none of them could compare. Been to soldier field (my step brother lives in Chicago), Joe Robbie (miami) and Charlotte (I live near Charlotte now). None can compare to B-lo at the Big Tree. Lots of great food, great people, and great beer. It is like a slice of heaven. I miss partying there. I left Buffalo in 93, so i got to spend the good years partying there.

Are you visiting for this game on the 1st?

Worst trash talk ever!Picking the Bills to lose 20-9.
The Texans will win by as many points they deem proper!
:fans::texflag:

This thread confused me.

I had to confirm that our next game was at home against the 49ers, thank goodness we have this home game before another road game!

Ha! Sorry, it is Nov 1st for this game. I just wanted to drop by and say hey, great game, and to chat with my friend here. I have always enjoyed football conversation with the Texans fans. You guys are quite respectful, and generally pretty football savvy too.

And BILLieve me, I would rather play the Bills at the Ralph then the '9ers at home right now. Singletary has slapped that team back into shape. Here I thought all that blow he did in his playing days would have fried his brain... looks like "coke, it does the brain good". :D.

Whoda thunk it?

The Bills? Never heard of them.

Why, it is a team composed of Bills of course! Including Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, and Bill Cosby.

Nonsense! We are the team you automatically mark a "W" down next to your team on your schedule. :mcnugget:

If we beat the 49ers on Sunday you have a great chance of catching a young inconsistent team getting a little cocky. But if the 49ers beat us expect a blowout my friend :)

How is your secondary this year? I know losing Mckelvin must be hurting y'all back there. Schaub doesn't have too much trouble playing in the cold as evidenced by his career high 414 yards in Lambeau late last season....

Yeah going to be there I think on Oct. 30 or 31st. Plan on staying till about nov. 4th or 5th before flying over to Portland

Sandt38, I know it is early but if you know your roster well enough would you speculate on what position Bills will be drafting for? Info will help me on my board and mock.

We are killing the pass (5th I BILLieve) but we are awful against the run (31st). Frankly, our passing defense has given us a great opportunity to win games, but our offense is throwing them away. There is no reason we shouldn't be 4-2, if we could generate more then 120 yards passing a game. McKelvin? We need to lose him permanently.

Well, they know how to party (and eat ;) ) at the Ralph! I hope you enjoy yourself.

You need to get around and eat there. The food is unreal. Go to Anchor Bar for the best wings in the world. They had best be, they were invented there! Try a couple of our original dishes while you are there, like the Reuben and a Beef on Weck. Also, don't forget Niagara Falls! Sady, I suggest you hop over the Rainbow bridge and visit the Canadian side. The US side is a trash heap (worst unemployment in the US, like 40%) and the Canuks really have the best view.

Offensive line, and QB. I speculate Trent is done in Buffalo. When the Cards took him out last year he seemed to suffer shellshock. He is checking down before he comes out from under center now, it seems. Now after being taken out last weekend, I expect it to get worse. Our offensive line is the worst I have ever seen in Buffalo. But they may attempt to bring in some veteran talent to provide leadership, as our line is all rookies (or first year starters). The inside linebacking core is awful. Of course, we are very thin due to injury. I forsee drafting an ILB (or a couple) to add depth. We sure could use a good all around TE, but we generally ignore that position in Buffalo with our current FO, so expect us to ignore it yet again. We may go after a STer, as Parrish, our returner, is inactive for the second week in a row. A healthy sratch, I might add, who is showing his @ss in the papers.

But we are really solid at WR, even without TO. Freddy and Marshawn are good enough in the backfield. Our OLBs and safeties are really providing excellent pass coverage, and we have a ton of money tied up on the D-line... money I see staying tied up in Buffalo.

Well, we are on our way to the game now. We finally managed to put up some points this week, thanks to our defense (the average scoring drive was 26 yards). In a way I hope you pounce us, as the "Fitzpatrick is the second coming" threads by the Bills n00bs are getting tiring. Fickle fair weather fans... Neither Edwards or Fitz deserve praise, but our pass D does. 9 ints in 2 weeks... Just awesome secondary play. Now if only we could figure out how to stop a 12 year old rusher... Our run D is pitiful (216 YPG average in the last 3 :choke:)

Again, good luck friends!

Oh, and you guys are being dubbed a playoff (OK, wild card anyways) contender on our board! Too bad the Bills aren't :D

* Secondary? Pshah, we don't need to stinkin' secondary. LOL

** That sounds like us the first 3 games.

*** Come on, we're still stuck at... hey wait, 4-3? Is this Internet thing working? :peek:

Buffalo is only 1 game back in the WC hunt, with a tie breaker over the NYJ.

Yeah, and we have an easy season ahead of us. Even though I am a huge fan, and want to see the show (hell, even the playoffs would be great), we just don't have the offense, or the run defense to get us in position. The weather beat Sanchez, not us. We will lose out in the division this year, unless we get really lucky and the weather beats Miami and the Jets for a second time. With that said, our QBs aren't fairing well in the weather either, so take that as you will.

Ya I went over to the Bills board to check it out and they are talking playoffs more than we are!

This seems to be the make or break game for the Bills season.

Saw you and quoted you there.

They think it is. I think we are a QB short of the playoffs. Everybody thinks Fitz is the answer... but like I say in my sig there, "We won because of 9 picks, not because of Ryan Fitz"

What has 44 feet and sucks?

The Bills O and D.

My mental process after quite a bit of beer:

44 feet? huh? oh...O and D...11 players on defense times 11 players on offense...hold on...11*2...because every player has two feet I think, maybe Robinson doesn't he sure does fall down a lot...nope they all have 2...and then 11*2+22=...44.

Quick on the uptake today.

Could be fair enough. BUT!!! As I said in my post, our OL is so young, that we will likely seek some sort of veteren leadership rather then use another draft pick. One other thing I am hoping for is that we don't pick up anther QB in the draft. I don't see any real draftees that would fit immediately into an NFL offense. However, I think the situation we are in right now might command a draft pick, and a second pick might just fill the bill. So good call there :tiphat:.
