Damn, well this sucks! Might have to switch from beer to liquor on gameday. This could get ugly.

You were only drinking beer on gameday? Well, you, sir, are no Houston sports fan.
This way when I'm cursing at the TV I won't be able to understand myself.
A true Houston sports fan now. It brings tears to my eyes.
I need another rum and Diet now...

We may need to move this to the drunk therad...LOL
I'd post pictures, but I can't figure out how to get pass the password on my blackberry right now. It's taking me 10 minutes to post because I keep correcting my typing. Ugh. I'm still in gameday mode. (<---read: wasted)
Have you seen Khari's sig? Don;t worry baout it. LOL
Who's Khari? Is she hot?
Haha lol where did this thread go?
He finished the game with it, coach Gary Kubiak said about Brisiels injury. It doesnt look good right now.
Give him credit for fighting through that but no team should have a guy in there playing through some injury that winds up being season-ending. Both for the health of said player and the good of the team. Did he injure himself further by staying in the game? Did the injury sap him of the necessary strength on a certain goal line play?
Hopefully he gets healed up and comes back for us next year. Until then it would be nice to see what Caldwell is made of.

I dunno, how many starters does Kubiak need to lose from season-ending injuries before he's allowed an exemption for another less than satisfactory season and given another year to coach in Houston
by McNair ?
My understanding of Kube's show on 610 yesterday:
1. Brisiel is out for season.
2. Foot was injured on the series ending the game and may have been factor in his performance that last play.
3. WHite and Caldwell to get time. My thought is White at center as he was #2 and Caldwell at guard. I know White has practiced at Center but not so sure Antoine has done much but guard. Certainly do not need any bad snaps.
On a side note, fans kept asking Gary if he would change his mind on running the ball. He kept saying you have to be able to run in the NFL and "we are not changing our philosophy." I kept expecting ND Kalu to say "Yeah, well how is that working for you?" This is what you get when you do not address a dire need position in the draft. He kept spreading the responsibility which is a cool thing for a coach but he did say the line did not open holes. With exception of Pitts, I think all the others were stronger on pass blocking skills for the ZBS that was installed. I think the coach may not know how to fix the Red Zone deficiency of the backs.
That is what is bothering me. No "Well, what we have tried for the last 3 years has not worked in the Red Zone so we are going to try something else." You can blame the Oline but we knew when we got them, they are not run blockers. It's very irritating to hear him talk. Hope he enjoys losing, cause the guy who doesn't adapt doesn't win. Period.

While this sucks, maybe it's an opportunity to shake things up on our O-line and make some changes to help the run game?
How about Caldwell at center, slide Meyers over to RG? We need SOMETHING to inspire this crappy running game of ours. I still believe in the ZBS, but our line and backs just haven't executed.
It sounds like Myers stays at C and Caldwell will start at RG. White will be the main swing guy. This is just from listening to Kubiak on 610 yesterday so things could change, but he said he wants to leave Studdard where he is and likes White as the swing guy.

Exactly what he said in the presser yesterday too.
The way Kubes talked in the presser, Myers stays at Center, White and Caldwell to split time at RG. And Kubes doesn't want to move Studdard around says he is playing well.[/QUOTE]

You guys also have to remember - this is coachspeak. Every coach in the NFL says the same crap when they lose. You can't call out individuals or your players and staff will not trust you. Nobody would be complaining about what he says if they were winning, even though it's exactly the same spiel. Fans are blasting Fisher in Tennessee and John Fox in Carolina - two of the best! - for saying the exact same things that Kubiak is saying. It's coachspeak. Quit complaining about it, because it will be the same stuff coming out of any coach's mouth after a loss.
As a student of football, would you if you were coach recognize that A) your free agent selections of RBs are not working B) you can't buy a first down when the play is 3rd down and less than three needed C) your backs can't get the ball into the end zone D) your Olinemen are pass blockers not run blockers E) the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over hoping for a different result. As a student of football, though, I can tell you he's right. Arizona is a mediocre team because they can't run the ball. The Saints were mediocre until they started to be able to run the ball. The run-n-shoot Oilers could never win in the playoffs because they couldn't run the ball.

Wow! I agree. I have never thought about that but I am pretty stupid. I bet that if I TAKE IT ONE GAME AT A TIME, I could have the POTENTIAL to NOT LOOK PAST THIS SUNDAY and realize that on ANY GIVEN SUNDAY any team could beat you as THIS IS THE NFL! Now I understand what COACH SPEAK is. I am no longer worried about anything. Go Texans!Thank you.
That need's to be etched in bronze, and it should be required reading before anyone is even allowed to enter. I'd make it may signature if it wasn't so long, but well said. Kudos!
