Justice at Kubiak presser

What was the deal with that "I don't know what I'm asking?" at the Monday presser? RJ is one odd guy...I know he's a columnist and I know he's supposed to throw stuff out there and get reaction, but seeing him waste time at the presser today was a total eye-opener...

If this was a eye opener for you, you must've not read any of his blog posts over the last year. The guy has sand in his panties and he thinks Kubiak, Gibbs, and Smith planted it there....so like usually he's just out and about, grinding his ax.

He's a moron.....I serously don't understand how the hell that guy has a job and why the national sports media thinks he's a valuable source......he's garbage.

He's a moron.....Kubiak pretty much called him out and like what cowards do when you call them out, he tucked tail. I serously don't understand how the hell that guy has a job and why the national sports media thinks he's a valuable source......he's garbage.

yeah let me rephrase that, I said "eye-opener" but I meant that while I've seen some weird stuff from Justice, this one was like "Huh?"

Haha Justice totally embarrassed himself

I sent him a message on twitter ridiculing him, it was a lot of fun

Shame on you guys for saying such mean and hurtful things about Richie, who's a fine family breadwinner and a true Prince of a man, not to mention that he's an icon in Texas media annals.

I missed it. Could someone recap?

this is what i posted in the live thread:
basically (some paraphrasing)

kubiak:
impressed with defensive effort. 'we all can see what we have with 56 right now'. mario & antonio were a force

-justice is such a twat. this actually happened after ^ answer
justice: so thats what you liked about yesterdays defence & the other stuff is filed away somewhere else
kubiak: *awkward silence*......... i dont understand the question richard
justice:.........umm i dont either gary

Because sports fans in this city allow him to have one. They listen to him on 1560AM, they read his stories, and they comment on his blogs. If everyone would completely tune the fool out, employers would stop giving him money for his garbage.

It's pretty much the same reason reality shows exist.

You are very right but the problem is that there is a faction of today's media that isn't about reporting sports, stats, breakdowns, locker room news. They are fixated on gossip, hearsay, problems, stirring the pot and flip flopping to make people happy. I think Skip Bayless kind of started it and many people have taken the lead. The "get a rise" and "push buttons" type of guys. They work because people have a hard time not pointing out their inconsistencies, lies and pot stirring. It's sad that guys like him still can function but sadly they have a place.

Every city's got one. Detroit has Mitch Albom or whoever. Bayless to me is more the symptom than the cause. Personally I blame ESPN for deluding these juvenile dorks into thinking they could be rock stars.

I will say that overall Houston's sports journalism is pretty craptacular, with a few notable exceptions. To those that frequent this blog -- you know who you are and thanks. And Justice pretty much heads the list of bad major sports journalists here.

Example: Years ago (when Carr was a dead man walking and we passed on VY, but preSchaub IIRC) I thought it would be funny if someone suggested Chris Simms be signed to the Texans, mainly to piss off Horns fans. I suggested it in a comment on his blog, which he never approved. Then the guy actually did it -- to his credit in a blog post not an actual column. He didn't even bother to try to justify signing Simms, just basically threw Simms' name out there to stir the pot.

... which only exists because readers pay attention to it.

Dunno why, but the guy just doesn't bother me. Maybe I just try to keep it in perspective.

I know that a lot of fans and players (David Anderson) don't like him because he's negative, but I don't think that's really the case. I actually think he's all over the map. Sometimes, he drinks the Kool-Aid when the times are good.

While I wouldn't call myself a fan, I think he serves a pretty important function in that he doesn't mind calling people out. Sometimes, it's warranted.

He doesn't bother me either, because I don't read or listen to anything he has to say or write. See, it's that easy. :)

No, they exist because, as Dan pointed out, they are given a forum. Unless there is just an "avoid movement" from the whole country or a media forum firing them, there will be some that like these guys, giving them just enough pub. So, again, you are correct, but with 24/7 news, blogs, etc it won't happen and stations, papers, etc will let them say whatever. I don't read the guy or listen to him...it is just a shame that he is on 1560 here and there.

no pleasure listening to Richard Justice looking for something negative, guess what goes around comes around :headhurts:

At future pressers, RJ should be seated way in the back in a corner wearing this:
