Week 4 MNF: Favres vs. Ex-Favres

Favre has won against all 32 teams. Nice. He did well tonight, however, the Vikings team played a good game.

This is exactly why people like myself wanted to see Favre come back. That play last week was amazing and this entire game was everything it was cracked up to be. Great game from Favre and Rodgers!

I really thought Favre was done. I thought he would get beheaded by human machines half his age, specimens in their physical prime. I thought he was lazy and hampering his and his teammate's chance of success by skipping preseason. I thought Sage would be a smarter choice.

This is why I love the NFL. I'm always surprised and always proven wrong. I know he has a great team around him, with IMO the best RB and best DL in football. I agree that half of the league's QB's would look great in such a situation. It really is fun to watch him teach young whippersnappers like me a lesson though.

The game next month in Lambeau is going to be epic. Instant classic IMO.

Oh and ESPN still sucks. No matter how impressive Favre is.

Exactly. I love seeing Favre play, I grew up watching the guy, and he earned my respect back in 03 when he went against the Raiders shortly after his dad passed away. Rodgers was great as well...especially with the crap he had for an o-line, if that o-line played half as good as the Viking's O, game might have been much more closer...hell it might have even swung in the Packer's favor. In the end, that was one helluva Monday Night game, and lived up to all the hype that surrounded it.

Yeah I thought that game was an amazing shoot out. I rooted for both offenses because I like players on both offenses and players on both defenses. Lot of players I like on both teams an they're always both exciting to watch. Favre is still a pleasure to watch at work any day of the week, and so is the young Rodgers now. Rodgers has an amazing arm as well.

Way to go Brett! I didn't get to see much of the game at all, but it looked like the old guy showed Ted & Mike he can still play and keep a team at the top of the division.

So in the great debate of who was right? Favre or the Packers?

Both. Favre needed this move as much as the Pack did. Aaron Rodgers was no joke, just forever to be overshadowed by his (tor)mentor. Pack made the right call, Favre was going downhill on that team. What Favre needed was a team with a running game, a defense and decent receivers that he could do his best Brett Favre impersonation with. Perfect fit in Minny. Perfect fit in Green Bay.

I don't hate Brett Favre the player, I hate Brett Favre the person/ESPN personality.

I also hate Jared Allen.

LOL at people hating on Jared Allen. The guy's a beast with a motor that never quits. I'd love to have him on our team and other than a few questionable hits/calls, I like the way he plays the game.

Props to Favre too. I could do without Favre watch every offseason, but it's a joy watching the guy play the game.

I had to turn it off after about 3/4th through the 3rd b/c gruden's incessant gargling of favre's sack was making me sick to my stomach. Gruden's normally a solid booth guy, but any time favre plays it's like he just throws all his impartiality out the window.

This morning on the radio, Lopez & vandemeer asked "who's baby does espn want to have 1st, favre's or tebow's?" i think Gruden puts espn over the top for Favre b/c that was just pathetic last night.

You should know by now that people whine and cry about Jared Allen in here like he's the plague or something. Yes, he's a beast. He's the best DE in the entire NFL and fun to watch every game. I haven't seen a DE dominate a game like that in a long time. The dude is a straight up beast.

And yeah, that was an amazing game from Favre and from Rodgers as well. Love watching both of those guys. People can say what they want about Favre every year, but the guy brings a few performances even at this age that are for the ages.

this.

I think the guy is mentally off balance, and in football that may be a good thing, but someone really needs to kick his ball sac.

One thing I've noticed about Allen is he goes bonkers if he thinks somebody is trying to cheapshot him but has no problem being a cheapshot player. There's some irony in that somewhere.

Great game and both of those guys are worth the price of admission alone.
