Pink Gloves Wanted

Dr2bKay

Rookie
I just saw the picture of the pink gloves that the guys are wearing for the game on Sunday. I would loooooove to have a pair or at least 1 to keep. If anyone catches one on Sunday, please consider giving it to me. :-) If you need to be financially compensated....we can discuss that too.

wtf?!

No, seriously...WTF??????! :um:

*****EDIT: o.k., found the story:

Johnson, Williams among players to wear pink

There will be an abundance of pink on the field when the Texans play the Oakland Raiders on Sunday at Reliant Stadium. The NFL has encouraged players to wear pink gloves and pink wristbands, even use pink towels on the sidelines, as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Coaches will wear pink ribbons on their shirts.

You didn't hear? It's Battle Pink Day. Make sure to wear your pink on Sunday

Bro', I don't even want to comment. It's a touchy subject and good cause, so I should leave it at that. My old school sensibilities are chomping at the bit imagining Mean Joe Green wearing pink shoes and pink gloves.:headhurts:

well, at least you can find the bright side....the team may have found a color that captures their toughness.

lol! Don't give the front office any ideas!

Found a good pic of them practicing gang tackling, tho'...

HOUSTON (AP) -Ryan Moats was denied the chance to say a final goodbye to his mother-in-law Jonetta Collinsworth as she succumbed to breast cancer because of an ugly incident with a police officer that gained national attention.

Now the Houston Texans running back is hoping what he went through can help raise awareness about the importance of breast cancer screening.

Moats, along with players across the NFL, will wear pink shoes and gloves starting this week as part of the NFL's "Crucial Catch" campaign.

I can't imagine the jokes that will fly if the Texan "D" wears pink gloves and shoes and continue to play the way they play

on a side note, for once BA will blend in :joker:( (so I heard :spy: not that there is anything wrong with that either)

seriously , I hope this helps bring more awareness around the country

The four Texans who will put on pink cleats are Mario Williams, Ryan Moats, David Anderson and Andre Johnson.

“I have never worn pink in my life that I can remember,” Johnson told Nick Scurfield. “Especially not pink gloves or pink cleats or anything like that. But it’s a good cause, and I’ll definitely have it on on Sunday.”

I bet Carr is reminiscing about being light years ahead for the cause :joker:

little did we know

Kudos to the NFL for this. Women make up a good portion of the fan base and this is an important issue. It's a nice gesture.

True that. Its a great thing to be supporting...hopefully Bob puts a buck from each beer on Sunday into the Cancer Research fund too.

I'm looking forward to seeing AJ wearing pink gloves and cleats, and STILL looking like an absolute beast!

The NFL is a little late to the show. The NHL has done the pink hockey sticks and leather baseball has done the pink baseball bats. This is tough for me personally because of the status of our defense. I dont think pink anything is going to help shield us from mockery around the league. If we had the Ravens defense or something... I'd feel differently. Kudos to all those battling or have battled cancer.

Oh, I'm now totally going to wear pink on Sunday. My Momma is a breast cancer survivor...this is so awesome that the NFL is doing this...whether they're behind the curve or not.

I'm just wondering when National Testicular Cancer Awareness Month is. :pop:

You guys know they are going to auction all of that pink stuff off at some breast cancer fund raiser after the guys wear it. So if you really like it...

Save Second Base!!!:splits:

Damn. Now I gotta find a pink Texans shirt - in a man's style before you smarta$$es get started.

Seriously, if they sold such a thing and half (or more) of the proceeds went to breast cancer research, I'd be down with that.

If anyone finds out when/where the auction will be held, post away! I'm in!

Well...I am just assuming that as I have seen pink batting gloves from the astros for sale at these type of auctions.

If anyone comes accross a Pink MANS shirt as OBISWAN said I'm down for wearing it especially if proceeds go to breast cancer helpingness. As far if somone gets a pink glove Kay I think you might have a fight on your hands if Amy gets one.

Good cause!

Y'all just make sure to get plenty of pictures of the defense. I have a feeling there may be a mad rush to revising avatars if this ends in a loss.

Mine is too (diagnosed / treated in 2006-2007). For all the hard time I give Ryan over wearing pink for the cause, it's a very WORTHY cause.
