Kevin Walter

Great. I think I just picked him up for FFL. I've crossed over to the dark side.

Usually a guy needs some time to knock the rust off.
You wait and see, he will come out and have a record day just to prove it wrong!

I believe a player with Walter's skills, though coming off injury, will still do well with # 80 on the other side.

I was surprised that Walter's injury seems to have been this bad. I didn't even remember him getting hurt in the Vikings preseason game and even when I did it was, "Oh its no big deal..." as usual from the Texans coaching staff. I'm worried his injury is pretty serious.

Kevin Walter said he is expecting to play...on my fantasy news updates it said he is expected to play and start against the jags so lets keep our fingers cross and hope we put andre, kevin, and jacobe and get schaub anyother badass performance

I'm worried that it's just lingering. Hammy right? I don't think KW would milk it for one second but if it won't go away the right thing to do is sit out until he's healed up completely. It sucks because he's like the Shane Battier of offensive football. A WR that blocks, doesn't crave attention, plays team first ball and doesn't suck when his number is called. HEAL FAST KW!!!

His time out has definitely made me realize just how valuable he is to this team. We desperately need him across from AJ because he runs perfect routes and catches everything. As you state, he is also a good blocker. JJ did a fine job against the Titans, but I desperately want Walter to come back. We need him.

Walter is on my team in one of the FFL I am in so I hope he plays on Sunday for my sake and the sake of the team.

Hamstring injuries are VERY tricky......it's best not to rush back and take your time with that kinda injury or it'll be lingering all season long. I hope they keep him out as long as he needs, because I don't want to see him in and out of the lineup for the remainder of the season.

That's why Jacoby's play last week was HUGE, we were able to get a win against a divisional rival on the road while Walter was able to get another week of rest. Speaking of Jacoby, I think we proved last week that we need to get him on the field more as a receiver (no more punt/kick returning though)...he could be our Nate Washington (when he was a Steeler).

He's definitely been missed and it was nice seeing Jacoby actually step up his play last week when we needed him to.

Any word on Davis? Good thing we're deep at the position.

He also said that he was gonna play against Tenn. Yahoo says he was limited in practice today so I guess we'll see on Sunday. KW is a gamer and he's also in a contract year, so my guess is if he can possibly suit up then he will.

Who's a bigger downfield threat? Walter or Jacoby? I've seen Walter make plays down field, but Jacoby's probably faster.

Jacoby is a bigger theat to score because of his speed but Walter is more likely to get open because of his route running and ability to get off press coverage.

Walter is a complete WR and a perfect complement to AJ.

Walter is a big, consistent target for Schaub and a key cog in this offense. Jacoby filled in admirably, but relying on him week in and week out is a risky proposition.

What game did you guys watch where JJ had a good day receiving? He barely caught the TD pass(made it look harder than it was IMO), flat out missed a wide open catch and had another catch. 2 catches, one of which he made difficult is a good game? We need KW back out there before JJ does a Rosencopter and costs us a game. KW is almost as important to this offense as AJ. He definitely makes AJ and MS's lives a lot easier on gameday. Like a lot of you, I would rather be cautious and have him back at full speed than risk worsening his injury.

I agree the drop was bad, but its very hard to make a play wearing a Finnegan. That was a Pro Bowl starter. Wasn't a great game, but wasn't as bad as you say.

I like walter and like someone said, he's consistent, but jacoby can take the top off the defense which makes it easier for daniels and johnson. Jones will give the job back, but I would seriously consider making him the 3rd wr and put him on the outside same side as johnson and put johnson in the slot. If you put aj in the slot with all the room in the middle and jones on the outside running deep digs or post, it will hold the safety and get the bracket off him. Not to mention, this is walters last yr of his contract.

Until J.J. produces on a regular basis, I'm going to have to go with Walter. He runs better routes, has better hands, and knows how to work zone D. But you're right, in a footrace, J.J. wins.
