Player of the Game

Andre and Matt are the obvious front runners but I would give strong consideration to Duane Brown, that guy played one of the best games (if not the best) from a LT on the Texans I have seen. Another dark horse candidate, Kerry Collins. What does everyone else think, throw some more names in there!

I agree about Brown. He looked very solid out there. Don't see Collins. The only Titan I would consider would be CJ.

I thought OD and Cush had great games.

He meant for the Texans. Collins gave us 2 key turnovers, without which we would have lost. I htink Kerry had money on the Texans

I was putting a vote in for Collins as the Texan's potg! C'mon man, heh.:doot:

Chris Johnson is nasty, we don't need to bring him up in this thread anymore though.

I got it. Sorry I missed it.

Mario was also solid as usual.

But yeah, I'd go with Schaub overall. It's easy to look like an all pro with AJ to throw to, but he spread the ball around pretty well and stood up under some pressure at key moments IMO.

I have to go with AJ. The insane bobbled TD catch in the corner of the end zone was the difference between winning and losing.

I guess I cant argue with Johnson. That short catch where h got hammer in the air and still came down with the ball was SICK!

I saw your post right after I dropped mine in, I was just yanking your chain a bit.

Some weeks the obvious guy overshadows a more deserving candidate. Not so this week, IMO. Schaub.

The man who gets WIN'S for us!!! KRIS BROWN!! Without him we would be 0-2, don't forget that!!
Truth! Kris can never get enough props!

Although this week I don't think he was the most important factor, I'm calling Schaub today. But yet again, Brown was anonymous....the best way for a kicker to be.

Don't forget AJs one handed pull-in for the crucial first down towards the end of the game. He and Schaub are very very close...

Ryan

THIS YEAR
Gary Kubiak! He went one on one in a battle of wits against jeff fisher and won..it was looking bleak for a while, but he and the boys pulled it through.

350 yds. passing, NO INTERCEPTIONS, 4 TDs., and most of it went to somebody besides AJ (who had about 150). I gotta give it to Schuab. I would give Duane Brown a LOT of consideration if we could run to his side of the ball (or any side anywhere).

This was an all-around team effort so I can't pick just one player.

AJ - for his awsome one-handed catch and all his other amazing plays

Schaub - for pulling his head out of his @$$ and playing great

Mario - for keeping us in the game

Zgonia - for falling on the ball to clinch the win

OD had a strong day too!
Great points. The blue chippers played like blue chippers.

I have to go with Matt Schaub. He bounced back from an atrocious game to have the best QBing performance in team history. :texflag:

Overall: Chris Johnson. Gotta give it to him, I mean what the good Lord choose to overlook in the "visual department" he certainly made up for it in freak speed (and a hell of an OL). That's a disgusting game for a RB.

Texans: Matt Schaub. Don't get me wrong, hell of a game by Shoe-b but in the wake of Brees throwing 6 it kind of puts QB stats in a certain perspective.

Notable mentions:
-Texans bench for helping Capt. Dumb find the trouble he was looking for. I think I counted about 30 Texans with fist raised/in motion towards his noggin!

-Andre Johnson for punking the Titans secondary again...

-Jacoby Jones for being a real WR and having success. I think it's time to stop ignoring his receiving skills...and maybe also time to get a new PR.

-Bud Adams for letting Haynesworth walk.

Brian Cushing - 10 tackles, 2 TFL, and 1 pass defended

On top of that, Cush brings a swagger and attitude to our defense that we have never had before. He was all over the field delivering big hits, talking ****, and getting our guys riled up. Watching him play makes me want to just jump off the couch and go hit somebody.

Not a player of the game type performance but I thought "booo"sing made some nice plays today. Hopefully he stays in the lineup, he might actually be an average safety for us.

I don't totally disagree, but 3 of those tackles were assists. Demeco had 8 on his own, with 1 assist.

amm. with all the talk of perspective, id expect you to realise 4td, 0 ints v the titans> 6tds, 1 int v the lions

Not taking anything away from Ryans. I chose Cushing because I felt like he energized the defense late in the game. The stats are just the icing on the cake.

One name I have not seen mentioned yet, and while probably not POTG; certainly deserving of a game ball...

I'm more inclined to believe Brees could equal Schaub's statline while I don't believe the same about Schaub equaling Brees. How's that for perspective?

I give it to AJ. When Torchland Burnedagain started mouthing, AJ actually yelled back and I think that is when the team responded.
