So far we've got Andre Davis and Antwan Molden being listed as OUT for this Sunday. In the report listed above... Shaun Cody was listed as questionable but in Kubiak's presser, he stated that Cody was definitely out.

What's with Antonio Smith missing practice all week? I hope he's feeling better. I had flu-like symptoms all week myself. A nasty cough. It sucks but I sure wish he was practicing with the team.

Albeit, it being a gametime decision, we should see Eugene Wilson on Sunday and I'm pretty happy with that. I don't think his play has been as poor as many have said it was. Especially after seeing Nick Ferguson back there last week. Phew. That was a rough outing.

Jacques Reeves is also somebody that I'm just crossing my fingers for. He's got to play. He's also a gametime decision along with Kevin Walter.

I'm a little concerned about our WRs. This is a game where we need them at full strength. We can expose the Titans' poor secondary if we can keep coming at them. Big Ben decimated that secondary in the second half of last week's game. If Walter and Davis both are out that's got to mean that Jacoby Jones would split time with David Anderson over there. That sends shivers down my spine. Chris Hope just may make the probowl if he has to face the Anderson/Jones duo. Maybe this is where we activate Martinez for the game? In fact... how long do we have before we have to submit who's activated and who's not? I know it's sometime on Sunday but what time?

Err, wasn't planning on posting(just lurking), but you do realize we had three of our four starters in the secondary in the Pro Bowl last year, right?

Absolutely. I actually don't want to talk smack. I want to discuss football. Let me try to explain why I feel this way.

I strongly believe that's a result of having an Albert Haynesworth. I thought that the Titans had a by far better overall LBs and DL than their secondary. I felt that they were a tad overrated and I think Big Ben Roethlisberger showed them why now that Haynesworth isn't there anymore.

Finnegan's a player with questionable tactics. I have to reserve probowl ancipitations in regards to that.
 
The big question is this:

Can Schaub expose the Tennessee DBs with 3 seconds to throw in the same fashion Big Ben exposed them with 4 seconds?

Schaub wont have that extra second in the pocket on game day and that means a lot in the NFL. You cant ask a secondary to cover the WRs for 4 seconds and expect a good QB to not shred you.
 
I think the Titans have a very solid secondary that is enhanced by their superior pass rush. Like any secondary, if the QB can buy some time or if the O-line can neutralize that pass rush, then they will be beaten by any competent NFL QB. And Big Ben is - and it pains me to say this - a bit above merely "competent".
 
I think our secondary is as good as it has been since the move. The only issue is we lost both our backups outside, so if Harper or Finn go down we'll have to use Mouton. But as far as our top 5(corners, nickel, safeties), we're pretty solid.

Pass rush and secondary always go hand in hand though, you're right.

And the reason why they were able to shred them in the second half is because their line was exhausted. They stopped blitzing thereby exposing their secondary. Albert Haynesworth is one massive plug that any team would be grateful to have.

Sure, Big Ben is spectacular. I'm with you there.

Was it an amazing Big Ben? Loss of Haynesworth? We'll find out come Sunday but we need to be at full strength or the questions will ponder a week longer until the Titans play somebody else.

Their line was hardly moving by that time..........they weren't just exhausted, they were virtually panting like dogs, reportedly taking oxygen on the sidelines.

I'm just hoping Andre Johnson have a day just like last year in the second game. I don't recall Finnegan or Harper or anybody else who could have done anything about that!
I'm not taunting, I'm just stating the fact and hope that it stays true! :)

Why haven't we heard about Shaub's ankle? If it was not allowing him to push off and complete a pass with any accuracy last game, shouldn't we be updated on the condition? Anyone know if he still has it wrapped in practice?

What? 98%? What the hell kind of a number is that? Is that Kubiak admitting that he put in Schaub at less than 100% against Rex Ryan? Ugh. I really dislike Gary Kubiak right now. He is 100% the problem with the Houston Texans right now.

The good thing about all this is that Deljuan Robinson will be returning. I'm really really happy about that. He's absolutely earned a starting slot. Will he be starting though?No according to HT.com. He's got to take advantage of Cody being gone. Deljuan is Amobi's backup on the official depth chart. I can't imagine why Kubiak would want Jeff Zgonina to start over Deljuan which is what's being expected.

We really do need DT help. A lot more than some of us want to admit in spite of our DT draft failures in Okoye, TJohnson, and Okam. The Titans may expose that with the versatile Chris Johnson/LenDale White tandem hauling ass back there.

Schaub said it was fine after the game, too. I just took his word for it at that point, but maybe I was wrong.

Albert didn't play last year when we beat them at home.

I think the Titans blitzed more in the opener than in the past three years combined. Then when the Sqeelers went no huddle it sucked the life out of our D.

No huddle requires coach on-the-fly game planning and adjustment. We can't even get that in slow motion.......even with timeouts. I don't even remember when we've shown a 2-minute hurry up offense which was run successfully. Maybe they have, but it's been seldom enough that I totally blanked it out.

I wonder what DelJuan did to get in the dog house. He couldn't have played any worse than any other DT on the roster. Why are they so dead set on not letting him start?

I don't think he's in the doghouse or anything like that. He was basically a UFDA who bullied his way onto the team. Kubiak's stubbornness to adhere to a 'stay the course' theme is really beginning to bite him in the rear. The best explanation that I can come up with would be the money issue with Amobi Okoye. I still don't understand why he's starting. In fact, that's a better question to ask. Why is Amobi Okoye continuing to start?

Also, Zgonina is the 3rd backup at NT while Deljuan is backing up Okoye.

I've been wondering - for most of this week - why we didn't use some version of a "hurry-up" offense to tire out the incredible bulk that is Kris Jenkins.

it's sad, really for a so-called "offensive genius" not to have a hurry-up/no-huddle pkg in his arsenal.
...or, if he does, to have so little confidence in his hand-picked field general that he's reluctant to implement it.

LOL, we did, and it worked the other way around.

The Texans waited until the 4th qtr (with about 10 mins left).
Starting with 2nd and 10, we took the opportunity when Jenkins went out to run 5 plays without huddle, getting a couple of first downs.

But then AD went down.
That stopped the momentum.
And Jenkins went back in all fresh!
We got a first down on the next play, but AJ went down and the action stopped again.

The next play was the massacre of Myers.
The final blow was Schaub's Int.
Both were in the no huddle offense!

If they were to do it, they should have done it early in the first quarter, IMO.

And after today's performance, do you still think they're pro bowl worthy?

Any team that can throw the ball will destroy the Titans. I can't wait for MNF!
