Kubiak thinks they're making too many mistakes which means they're asking the players to do too much...might need to simplfy things. I thought we were pretty vanilla yesterday.
Good to hear Kubiak defend the defense saying they played outstanding for three quarters but the offense didn't help them out and they basically wore down in the 4th.
Shoot...that was quick...5 minutes. Gary did sound pretty down. Mentioned that the players know who we're playing this week and how they're going to have to be more physical.
After watching the press conference, once again my main frustration is with the freakin' media's inability to ask any follow-up or detailed question. He was there for the taking. If someone would have followed up and asked if running some run counter would help the OL be able to get across the bodies on the Zone Stretch, I think he would have answered it.
Or, how about asking if he thought the simplicity of our protection scheme makes it too easy for a blitzing maniac like Ryan to take advantage of it.
But, instead, it just McClain droning on about silly crap.
We didn't have a single snap in the red zone yesterday?

He answered the questions that were put to him. The team didn't do well enough, particularly on offense. That's all I needed to know.
What I'm concerned/disappointed about is his body language. How the hell is he supposed to fire up a football team looking like Droopy the cartoon dog from my childhood?
"Yeah, so guys, we need to simplify, do things better."
I want a coach who will come out and say "That was a slack-ass game and we will be better, especially on offense, next week." But he just looked beaten.
i think we defenatly need a coach that calls out his players and just doesnt say oh it was my fault...
I was at work, 5 minutes of speach?
was the teleprompter broke?
No joke. I couldn't help but think of the Southwest Airline commercial..."Wanna get away?".
LOL! Good idea!
Yeah, it was awkward watching him up there, it made me feel uncomfortable.
WTF was that all about not letting the QB make any decisions at the LoS? Maybe Im blind also, but I rarely see the Texans use a no huddle that often until it is to late in the game. I think it comes down to either Kube's and company can not game plan at all or they do not watch enough film on their opponents to win. I have never been to a Texans practice, but I have to wonder if it is always vanilla or if Kube's puts the D or O in certain real game situations and sees how they react. I mean it gets old hearing "its all on me!" for ******** sake say something else and I mean anything.
Kubes cleared up the audible situation in his radio spot. He said that Schaub can change the play up, but doesn't have the freedom to just change it "whenever". Whatever that means.
