Will This Team Post A Winning Record?

It's only been one game. THey looked like **** last year in game one. I expected the Texans to struggle against this Jets team that's full of some pretty good players with a good coach.

I really can't say though. Before pre season I thought we could at least do 9-7 and possibly 10-6, but once I saw us in pre season I lost any confidence in a winning season, but that doesn't mean that we can't still achieve it. They'll have to go one sickening run of wins though. And unfortunately I think we'll be 0-2 after next week against the Titans.

Im just praying that we can't play against a heavy blitzing 3-4. If thats our big weakness, so be it and bring on the happiness again

No the problem we have against 3-4 teams is that the Texans dont change the play calling. They wait till later qtrs to start screens and end-arounds and they dont use shotgun with more WR's. The Broncos played many 3-4 teams over the years and still managed to win games against those teams using those kind of plays. I just dont think this team schemes that well during the week to take on a new opponent and is only scheming to beat teams in the division. Oh and ******* Rich Eisen!

You only get 8 home games and the Texans have just wasted the first of them. You're supposed to win all your home games because road games are so difficult to win.

The Texans now have to go to Tennessee to play their second game. Tennessee is likely to be one of the better teams in the league this year and they've already lost their first game which means they will be thirsty for blood.

Weren't we hoping our boys would start this season differently than they did last year, when they started out OH AND TWO???

Sorry to be a downer, but I don't see this team getting past 8 and 8... AGAIN....

unless we can pull a rabbit out of the hat either against the Tacks or the Cards I don't see 9-7 anymore.

I thought they'd finish 10-6 and I still think they can. (BAHAHAHA!!)

Problem is, let's say they somehow DO go to the playoffs... who will they face?

Pittsburgh? Baltimore? New York? San Diego? All of them 3-4 defenses... I see no reason why we'd be any better against them in the playoffs than we were today, especially since the team had an entire offseason to address the problem and if anything - the problem is worse.

agreed, That put things in prospective , man you made me depressed right now.. I think the Texans have had their asses handed to them by each and everyone of them and I think everytime that we have played them

**** fire that is bleak

Prior to this game I thought we had some good talent and personnel. I'm walking away from this game dazed and disenchanted at this point.

Only thing we'll have going for us next week is we'll see a 4-3 defense and oh yeah no Albert up the middle.

Still not sure if that helps us any. They'll be prepared and looking to avenge a close loss to the opener in Pitt.

I have a bad feeling about this game. Either this team rebounds, circles the wagons, and plays a much better game. I got the sick feeling in my stomach that says Tenn comes out on fire and smells blood and we can't get anything going on offense again. If we lay another goose egg on offense this team might melt down.

well we playing a Blood thirsty Tenn in wk2 to so our chances to go 0-2 right now are high

WK3 another divison game aganist the JAGS after win or lose we go through a war with TENN and being bruised we prob got like a 60% chance to beat the jags 0-3 maybe 1-2

Wk4 Oakland a team that owned us last year and IMO is a very solid team comes to our house a must win Game IMO if we win then yay i can see us get that swagger and make a push for a strong finish to the bye if we lose we are 1-3

then we got 3 times who are firing on all cylinders

Wk5 ARZ
Wk6 Cincy
Wk7 SF

let say we win two of thoes and lose one 3-4 going to indy win 4-4 lose season is over 3-5 going into bye

if we go into our bye 4-4 or even 3-4 we would have to win are last 7 games which WILL NOT HAPPEN just to get 10 winz and usually 10 winz does not get u into the playoffs

so bassicaly we have to sweep the Jags and Indy to have a chance LOL

If the Texans can go 10-6 (Which I don't think they can) and make the post season, then I think their chances of playing against any one of these 3-4 teams would be a lot better at that point, because they would have obviously had to have played some very good football throughout the season and corrected a lot of problems and would probably have a lot of confidence going for them.

The problem with the Texans is that they don't have a good defense to compare to any of these teams. Their defense is just to soft, to keep them in games if their offense isn't rolling.

I think they'll go 8-8 they always pull their act together towards the end of the season.

Going 8-8 isn't what I'd consider pulling their act together...

Gary Kubiak isn't a bad coach like many people are saying. He's just an average coach. He can beat lessor teams but has a hard time getting over the hump with the better teams.

Personally, I'm tired of being average. I expect wins. I'm ready for a new coach.

Well that's what I mean, if they could get more wins earlier they could definitely have a better record and not have to surpass their losses. I agree that Kubiak is an average coach he's definitely doesn't have enough aggressiveness, whenever you see something bad happening on the field Kubiak always seems expressionless, you never seem him screaming at the players or screaming off the sidelines, he needs to put some fire in his coaching.
