The Business side of things

Look, I get it. Professional football is a business. That fact provides little solace to me as a fan that pays my hard earned military paycheck to support this team when they laugh and act ho hum about this loss as if the NFL is strictly a business. Great teams and players get emotional about wins and losses. The only emotion I've heard today in the post game interviews is from Kubiak, but his sword falling sympathy is running out in my opinion. After the losses in the pre-season, the players were ho hum and nonchalant, but I thought that was part of the vanilla preseason scheme. Now, I'm not so sure. I would love for the players to perform as if this was bigger than a paycheck. Maybe if they played with a fire because they realized they were playing for more then themselves. The fans that spend their hard earned money on them, who brag about them every week, who sport their jerseys might just have more passion for the game than some of the players we cheer for. Sad.

BTW. I really hope Dunta gets smith to pay him more than the $600K he earned today. That is the "heart" of theis team.

dear lord I thought my sarcasm was screaming on that one. Did you hear his post game interview. It made me want to vomit and a REAL coach would bench him.

You think Dunta should get more than 9 million per year?

I think he was saying that the only way that Dunta (and others) will play to win is to pay him more money as opposed to playing for the love of the game, to win, for the fans, etc. etc...Might be wrong but that is what I took from his statement.

No I'm sorry you were dead wrong on what I meant. I was being sarcastic. I would havekicked him out of the locker room and mailed his **** back to his house. No Heart no Play, very sorry dun-TA

yeah but that just sucks. There has to be a better way. Hell I just signed up for Direct TV and had it installed today for Pete's sake. Now what?

I was a season ticket holder from 2002 and PSL holder from 2004 until this year. I bought tons of gear. I bought concessions at the game for all but the second half of the '05 season (I boycotted concessions at that point). After Rosencopter last year, I sold my tickets for the remainder of the season and sold my PSLs in the offseason. I will not spend another dime on this team until they earn it, because they sure as hell haven't earned what I spent for the first seven years.

But I guess someone has to pay those salaries, so y'all should keep buying. That way at least there aren't any blackouts and I get to watch them on TV, right?

Wouldn't be the first time or the last I am sure. Wasn't able to catch what he said post game. Would be very interested to hear that myself. I agree with the kicking out of the locker room, but he can mail his own **** back to his house on his own dime. Not like he doesn't have enough of em. :)

I'm just paraphrasing. But the announcer asked what was on his shoes at the begining of the interview. He laughed and said, oh is says Pay me Rick. Just to remind me of what I'm out here for. After he was laughing my blood was boiling but when he stated he needed to write pay me Rick on his shoes to remind him why he's playing I just pretty much thought that I could care less if he gets paid or stays on this team fr that matter. really would like to see one of the younge backs rise up over this season so we can cut Drob loose. I want to see player on this team play with heart. There ar some on this team tht do and show it, and Drob had that fire before, but ti's gone now and he should be too.
