Ochocinco vs. Skip Bayless firstake its WWIII!!!

Yeah, it was pretty entertaining. As much as I can't stand Skip, he's probably the only guy in the business that will sit across from the athletes that he criticizes on a daily basis and chastise them to their faces and hold nothing back. He chastised Ocho like he was some sort of immature child on there this morning. It was hilarious. Ocho got after him as well though. They were both dead on about each other. I liked it because it was honest and not something for show. They both clearly couldn't stand one another and said what they felt.

^ exactly what happened this morning. great show, great description

What were some of the things said. What an awesome way for Ocho to get his attention, and for Bayless to look like he knows what he's talking about.

Meh.

With those two, it's like watching a couple of junior high girls getting into a fight: Hair pulling, screaming, pushing and shoving.

I can't stand either one of them. They're legends in their own minds.

Just my .02

Can't wait for it to get to Youtube.

I didn't care for the whole Ochocinco schtick, but after I saw the guy on Hard Knocks, he's pretty hard not to like.

I can't believe that I'm saying this, but I actually like Bayless too. The guy goes out on a limb pretty often, but he at least has a pair and sounds off.

two unlikeable guys trading 'my dad can beat up your dad' type arguments is always nice.

I am hoping Ocho did well here. Skip is someone I avoid at all costs and I've been convinced for a decade that he is more schtick than sports writer. Can't stand him.

That's exactly what it was, but what I liked about it was the fact that it wasn't some BS comments that weren't real from each other. Both of them got to speak their piece and tell the other how they felt about one another and they didn't hold back at all. Skip repeatedly trashed Ocho and called him a team distraction and a bunch of other things. I liked the fact that he didn't posture up because Ocho was right there. It was pretty funny actually.

You're not alone...ask Troy Aikman what he thinks about Skip.

That is one reason I can't stand him. The stuff he came up with to "prove" Aikman was gay was beyond tabloid. Skip is trash and is basically a National Enquirer sports writer. If he didn't say controversial things to get an audience he really would have nothing to say because he really is limited in pure sports expertise. It's all he said/she said guessing on locker room fodder.

BTW google The stuff and you will find his "source"..Switzer...yeah, that is fresh

Both guys are very smart and good at what they do. I started doubting chads stability a couple months ago, but he's fine, everyones entitled to their melt downs, he owned up. And skip though I don't always agree, he knows more than most give him credit for...(cuz people are haters)

Good tv

Haha, he said Aikman was gay!!!!!??? I think he just became my favorite sports talker!!!

Well your favorite sports "talker" (?) implied that...

and Troy wanted to beat him senseless but was implored by higher ups to leave it be and not say a thing.

Ha! I think you have Skip figured out....

That was like watching a parent ridicule their child for acting like a complete moron.

That was...... awkward....

C. Johnson came off as a whiny, selfish individual in his "debate" with Skip. He's trying to compare himself to Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin?! Puh-leez!! Dude ain't even close. His act is old. Just play ball, dude, and STFU.

My hatred for Skip Bayless runs so deep that I will stoop low enough to defend Chad Johns-er- Ocho Cinco before I defend him.

I'm pretty indifferent about Skip. I don't watch anything that he's on, and I don't read his columns/blogs/whatever, so he's really just a non-factor to me.

Johnson, on the other hand, is constantly self-glossing himself and the fawning by NFLN gets to the point that his prancing around takes away from more serious and legitimate football discussions. It seemed like weeks that All Access had to give a daily update on where the dude took a poop or blew his nose, and it was lame and superficial. I actually turned off the tv a couple of times because I could care less about this guy unless he's actually playing football.

I don't hate the guy (either one), but I'm not at all interested in their personalities or whatever it is that keeps people tuning in to them.

I enjoy Chad. Football would be boring as hell without characters like Chad. He's not a bad guy. He doesn't get into trouble. He plays hard. He just likes attention. He promotes the hell out of himself because you have to in football more than other sports. At the end of the day, it's more of a business than it is a game on the NFL level. Just ask Seymour. Chad has fun and enjoys the game the way he sees fit. I have no problem with that.

Really? :hmmm:

Skip was the one who mentioned Rice & Irvin.

Seriously?! The GAME of football is not enough to entertain you? :um:

I don't need clowns to enjoy the game, but it takes all kinds, so your perspective is just as valid as mine. It is entertainment at the end of the day...I guess I'm just not all that entertained by his look-at-me antics.

To each his own, though! :)

Skip was the one who mentioned Rice & Irvin.

When Johnson put that Hall of Fame jacket on, he was comparing himself to everyone that actually EARNED it. It's a bit egotistical, IMO.

He's not a bad guy. He doesn't get into trouble. He plays hard. He just likes attention.

He plays hard? Sure when he wants to. Even he himself admitted that he didn't play hard last season when he got a whopping 500 something yards. So, he doesn't play hard all of the time. He didn't play hard at all in camp last season or in the season. He was practically a team cancer last year.

He may not get into trouble off the field, but he has gotten into trouble with the coaching staff from his outbursts and fights with coaches.

And he likes attention way to much. You're always better off without guys like him. I'll take the boring Harrison or AJ, or Calvin Johnson any day of the week.

:thumbup This. AJ is the man, but he's boring as hell. Hate it or love it, the NFL needs guys like Chad and Terrell to offset the boredom that guys like AJ and Harrison cause. They're great players, just freaking boring.

Really

You win Rings with boring players like Rice,Harrison and AJ

Irvin was outgoing and I didn't have a problem wiyh him.

What do all of these guys have that Chad doesn't have?

Answer: Work ethic and a team first attitude.

This is why Chad will never be the WR he could be.

I'm indiffrent on this particular feud becasue I don't like Skip or Chad for various reasons. Chad is a good WR, but is not HOF material so far. As for Skip, he's the classic "shock jock". He just wants to stirr up controversy.

I think "need" is a bit melodramatic with regards to describing the NFL. These players need the NFL more than the league needs them.

Look up the top 10 selling NFL jerseys right now. Guess what? These guys aren't on the list. Who is on the list are players who consistently win, put the teams before themselves, and have great work ethics. If anything, sales prove that these are the players the league needs, if it has to be put that way.

If Chad Johnson's hands could perform at the level of his mouth, the dude would be in the top 5 current WRs. As it is now, he's mediocre at best, and the only reason the media gives him any attention is because he's a perpetual self-glossing machine. He needs to live up to his own hype if he really thinks he'll ever be worthy of wearing a real HoF jacket.

It's alright if we agree to disagree. I probably enjoyed the circus aspects of the league when I was your age, as well. Over time, though, it would not surprise me to see your perspective change to appreciate the game more than the sideshow. :)

I dont why the hell i wrote "talker" meant writter/reporter whatev...

I dont know anything about it and im not saying troy is gay, I dont like the cowboys but Im not against any one player(mainly one person J.J.) but Skip must have gotten some kind of info about it, whether it was credible or not is another thing, obviously troy didnt think so.

I, as an anti cowboy just happen to think thats hillarious that it was reported, i couldnt care less if it were true or not.
