I like him, but Jones still needs to work hard on getting seperation.
He remains a long shot to play on Sunday, IMO.

I still like Darnell Jenkins better than Martinez... but I'm not going to pass full judgement until I see Jacoby on Friday. He should get a TON of playing time.
Also, if he was going to get cut, you'd think we would be seeing other guys get a shot at punt returning, but we really haven't.

I do not think Jacoby Jones will make this team. He simply does not help us this year, and it would probably do him well to find another team.
I agree but I do have every sympathy for the poor kid. I think he is trying harder than he ever has - but he has so far to go. I do wonder about not seeing anyone else at punt return. You would think if JJ was leaving, they would be giving playing time to other folk.
After each fair catch - JJ had a real attitude on the sidelines. He was more than irritated at not having any room to run.
I'm really wondering why they even have this cut day. Now that there are no more NFL Europe exemptions, this is just a cut of 5 people, with 22 more getting cut less than a week later. Really - why bother - why not let these folks stick around for 5 more days? I don't see that this does any good for the players cut (it basically says "You are a pitiful player - you couldn't even make the first cut."). I doubt any of these first cuts ever make a final roster. At most they get a few days with another team (not very likely, though), but not enough to actually stand a decent chance of making that team, even if they are good (no chance they learn the playbook that quickly). I'd love to know what the reasoning is to have this set of cuts.
