The Good news?

Speedy

Former Yeller Dweller
After the 75 yard run, AP only had 42 more yards on his other 10 carries. You held a career 5.2 per carry guy to 4.2 the rest of the way. Good news? Right? Give me some hope here!

After that 75 yard run, we played them even.

We threw a pick in our own territory and made them settle for 3.

Our team had a bad play but didn't fall apart.

We played a tough, physical team and we played them tough and physical. We were swarming to the ball.

Brice McCain did not get embarrassed and you've got to give him the nod for playing pretty good. He's not afraid to stick his nose in there.

We blitzed and the blitzes didn't get stoned at the line.

Connor Barwin is a freak.

HTH.

yeah we played on par with them to bad matty got dinged up

and u could see he was very upset about it

Moral victories are for losers and the Texans have 2 weeks to fix whats wrong in order to get a W against the Jets.

Thats the bottom line wins and anything less will cause meltdown 09 on this board.

The bottom line is wins.

In the regular season.

In the preseason, the bottom line is getting ready for the regular season.

I'm just messing with you man.

We definitely need to get things going in the right direction before the Jets roll into town.

This.

The Texans are my team no matter what. I'll still watch them and root for them no matter what, be they good, bad, or mediocre. It would be really nice to see them kick some ass consistently though. It's getting about time. They showed some spark against the Vikings, they also showed why they haven't gotten past 8-8 yet. As much as a lot of us love this team, ya gotta admit there are still some gaping holes needing filled.

Feel better about the D now. Wonder how dunta and cush will affect things. Hope they bring an attitude with them.

Dude.....I can't get used to you and Texecutioner switching avatars. Why the switch up? A bet or something?

we can only hope. when Dunta came back last year the D really started to mesh together as it hadn't done when he was hurt. does his situation now effect how he will be received by the players? if it doesn't than i'd expect that the morale will go up and guys will be more focused on locking up coverages and filling gaps.

For the first time in forever, we had a fairly consistent pass rush. Favre made some excellent plays against the rush, but we definitely were not letting him sit comfortably in the pocket.

I think this team has a chance to be good on passing downs. The question is how many of these will we force.

The good news:

(1) It is only pre-season. If we beat the Jets, no one will be talking about these games.

(2) We have played two very good, tough, physical teams that have exposed weaknesses - so the players and coaches can use the next two weeks to fix.

(3) Although we looked very bad on some plays, I thought we did more good than bad. The defense is far from perfect, but I thought we got better pressure on the QB than we ever have. When was the last time we had 4 sacks in a game by 3 different players...ever?

(4) We were missing three starters the last few games - Upgrading at three positions is bound to make an impact. In addition, there is a lot of speculation that there is another transition on the horizon.

(5) Overall, this is a young team (especially on defense), so every game (even preseason) is valuable experience that we can build on.

(6) Our running game has been dismal, and we have still been able to move the ball. Chris Brown looks good. Arian Foster showed some flash last night.

The bad news: This is probably longer - just look at the board.
