Here is a list of injuries from Saturday's preseason opener against Kansas City:

TE Joel Dreesseen, hyperextended knee

FS Troy Nolan, broken hand

FB Boomer Grigsby, sprained ankle

QB Rex Grossman, pulled hamstring

OT Eric Winston, sprained ankle

OLB Xavier Adibi, broken finger

DE Tim Bulman, bruised quad

Didn't realize the Nolan and Adibi injuries happened -- those sound pretty serious

Nolan and Adibi's injuries sound serious. I'm guessing we don't see much of Winston the rest of this preseason.

The broken hand and broken finger might not be THAT serious.

Breakage is never good, obviously.

But are the breaks in a really bad spot? Are they considered minor enough to receive a few weeks of rest (remainder of preseason) then get padded up for reg season, holding the guy(s) out of the first game but having them suited and with the team? Then ready for game 2.

LOL...Like we'll really know with THIS team's prior history of revealing the true injury status of a player. If I hear it's really bad, then the player is OK. If I hear he's going to be OK, then he's toast.

I'm most concerned about Adibi, its a break, he's an arm tackler and he's gonna be needed as a starter... I thought he played well tonight and it'll be interesting to see if he's out there next week I would be a little surprised

Winston doesn't worry me, he tweeted right after the game and didn't mention it... he's a tough guy at worst his snaps are limited for the rest of preseason but I wouldn't worry here.

Nolan is a long-shot and even moreso now, Busing has looked great.

HT.com with their injury take

Injuries: Defensive tackle DelJuan Robinson went down with a right shoulder burner late in the first quarter. He returned midway through the second quarter and made a tackle on his first play back. The injury occured when Robinson slammed into Chiefs running back Jackie Battle at the line of scrimmage...Kubiak revealed a litany of injuries after the game: Grossman (hamstring), Dreessen (hyperextended knee), right tackle Eric Winston (ankle), rookie safety Troy Nolan (broken hand), Adibi (finger), fullback Boomer Grigsby (ankle) and defensive end Tim Bulman (groin). Of the group, Nolan, Dreessen and Grigsby appear to be the most likely to miss time.

If Adibi is tough, the broken finger is not a big deal at all. Put a splint on it, tape it up, and it will be healed in a couple of weeks.

So Grossman hurt his hammy? Is that the reason he made that gawd awfull pass and was pulled? In any case, nothing sounds real horrible so far, not good, but not totally horrible.

crap I was hoping Nolan would rise up and take Harrison's place as b/u safety. Kid's got really good size. I guess how soon he returns depends on which bone(s) in his hand are broken and how badly. I've played with a broken bone in my hand that I mistook for just getting it jammed. didn't know it was broken until the pain made me go get it x-rayed.

From Winston on Twitter: "FYI, my ankle is fine. I'm surprised it was even mentioned. Just stepped funny towards the end of the last drive. Thanks for the well wishes"

Dressen looks fine. He was being interviewed in the locker room after the game and seemed totally unconcerned about it and he wasn't wearing a brace or anything like it.

NS tweets:

@NickScurfield Kubiak, at his presser: grigsby out w/ high-ankle sprain (6 wks), grossman hamstring (4-5 wks), Nolan broken/fractured hand (TBD)

@NickScurfield Kubiak: texans will not go into saints game with only 2 qbs. Alex brink a possibility to get back in the fold

Rex Grossman is expected to miss about a month with a hamstring injury and the Texans are looking to sign another quarterback to fill in until he's healthy.
Grossman, the Texans' third quarterback and the former Bears starter, was injured in Saturday's win over the Chiefs and coach Gary Kubiak says he doesn't feel comfortable finishing the preseason with only Matt Schaub and backup Dan Orlovsky.
Kubiak says the Texans could bring back Alex Brink, who was with the team last season.
Also injured Saturday were safety Troy Nolan, a rookie seventh-round pick, who will have surgery to repair a broken hand on Monday and fullback Boomer Grigsby who is expected to be out six weeks with a high ankle sprain.

BUMMER!!

More NS tweets:

Good chance Molden comes back this week off of pup and starts to practice

Foster likely to return to practice tomorrow. Cushing doubtful for NO but had a good weekend of rehab.

I asked him if we'll be bringing in street FAs for tryouts to replace injured guys and he said...

Texans will be looking at QBs, but will evaluate James Casey at FB for now. They like what he has done so far

injury are piling up by wk 1 we should prob have 70% of our roster dinked up or injured we are doomed ............. :gun:

I assume this puts the Rex back out on the street. Grisgby too. Nolan maybe PUP or IR? Bulman laughs at your thigh bruise and Adibi better not miss any time with a broken finger. That will hurt but a little pain never hurt anybo......

Dear Xavier:

I agree with TimeKiller.

Do whatever you have to do with that finger to get back on the field.

Love,

Ronnie Lott
