Johnson mic'd up for NFL Network show

Tailgate

Fall of Hame
From Scurfield's Blog:

Wide receiver Andre Johnson tends to shy away from the spotlight, but he’s got nowhere to hide today. The soft-spoken Pro Bowler is being followed around by cameras from the NFL Network for a day-in-the-life segment that will air on the network’s “Total Access” within the next couple of weeks.

“It’s a little different,” Johnson said after practice Thursday morning. “You’re not used to having a camera follow you around everywhere you go, but it’s fun, it’s something different for me. People get to see me as Andre Johnson, see what I do when I’m in the locker room, when I’m around my teammates, so I think it’s good for me.”

The cameras will stick with Johnson until he goes home tonight after the Texans' 7:15 p.m. night practice. NFL Network's crew has been following Johnson since he left his house early this morning to come to Reliant Stadium.

“Actually, I was still sleeping and they were sitting outside my house,” Johnson said. “It’s fun. I’m enjoying it and my teammates are enjoying it. I’m pretty sure I’ll catch a little (grief) because I’ll be mic’d up in the second practice. Some of the guys already said they’re going to be on me, but it should be fun.”

Fans attending Thursday night’s open practice can judge for themselves whether they think Johnson is acting differently, but he said this morning that the omnipresent cameras haven’t affected his behavior.
I’ll post an update in my blog whenever I find out when exactly this behind-the-scenes feature will air.

I'm looking forward to this.

Really cool, this will be great to watch, hopefully the rest of the country can see what a great player and most importantly person AJ is.

I can't wait to see this. Although I feel bad for whichever CB gets stuck trying to cover him. AJ will be embarrassing whoever gets assigned that task.

One game I am looking forward to watching this year from an AJ standpoint is
when we play the Raiders and AJ goes up against Nmadi, who has went up against AJ I believe in 3 games and has basically shut him down in those games (im sure there was a lil help for nmadi at times). My reasoning is that Johnson isnt happy about it and really wants vengence to show he can beat the best CB in the league.

If anyone feels up to it..it would be great if those of us without NFLN had a copy we could circulate...on the down low :D

Raiders play Nnamdi on a side of the field and not a specific play (according to modern football lore anyway). AJ pretty much got shutdown by that entire secondary.

Always good to see something on AJ, but omg zzzz... the most exciting part of that clip was Jacoby dancing to the band music.

Man we're so lucky to have AJ here, with so many primadonnas on that position in the NFL we definately got the best of the best! :)

Umm, yeah....let's stick to beasting on the football field, AJ. He's about as outgoing as I am, which isn't saying much. He's got some nice rides though.

Yeah. Exactly the type of guy you want to build your team around. We're lucky to have him locked up for the future.

Yeah, hopefully the team gives him reason this season to want to stay around. If we choke again this season he's going to want to bail......and I wouldn't blame him.

:texans:

The entire team stunk it up that game, IIRC. I so expected a win and a chance for 9-7 in the final week. It deflated that balloon.
