Adam Schein (foxsports.com) says Texans win 10 games; playoffs

GP

Go Texans!
Not all that great of an article, but...it's the off season.

He says if we don't win 10 games...Texans will have a new head coach and a new quarterback. Schein's been hanging around the TexansTalk forums. :) :(

There's a poll on the side. 5,000 votes so far and it's 71% in favor of Texans making playoffs.

My favorite quote from the story:

And hide the women, children and Tony Boselli: The Texans actually have a very strong offensive line that became cohesive in the middle of last season.

All this talk about the Texans and Vince Young.I have a solution. The Texans need a quarter back, cause Matt Shaub gets hurt to much.Vince Young is from Texas and wants a team. There you go.Trade Vince Young to the Texans and let him shine. He will have a good coach a great line and the best receiver in football to throw to.And dont forget one of the best running backs to hand off to as well.Just a thought!

The Texans are more talented than the Titans (Jeff Fisher and staff are the great equalizer).

Interesting comment. Do we actually match or beat the Titans in terms of talent? I do know that they have ZERO players that I would even think about trading AJ or Mario straight up for. Thats definitely a start.

And that would be the casual fan who doesn't invest much time into really analyzing the team and other potential players.

Making a case for Vince Young was somewhat plausible in the run-up to his rookie year, maybe even when he smoked us for the game-winning TD in our own house. But as time progressed, it should be clear to people that the guy is done. He doesn't have "it."

But then there's fans who don't see that. They think it's as easy as re-uniting a guy with his hometown area. "That should do the trick!" Uh, no it won't.

Schein is a moron that only knows anything about things that happen in New York or Massachussets. It's like the rest of the country doesn't even exist.

plus he's a Mets fan so his opinion is worth about a nickel.

...I like the hype, its nice that we are no longer viewed as an afterthought, but I remember what happened the last time this team got some offseason hype and people started talking about playoffs...2-14 happens.

We have a lot to look forward to. AJ looks poised to have another HOF season and our offense has shown serious progress under Schaub/Kubiak. We need to improve in the red zone/short yardage, improve clock management, and stop turning the ball over so much, but our offense is good enough to make a serious run at making the playoffs.

The problem is that our defense is still very suspect. Hiring from within at Defensive Coordinator after such a horrible 3 year run is not a recipe for success imho. Just sayin. The schedule looks nice as a whole but we still have some tough divisional matchups. And looking at the schedule we have to get off to a good start this year. The schedule is pretty brutal around midseason....

Actually, the last time our team got hype like this in the offseason we went 8-8. It's undeniable that this team is making strides in a positive direction and accumulating talent. It's disengenuous to suggest that this is some sort of repeat of 2005.

But, the idea that analysts' predictions aren't worth a hill of beans is a legitimate one.

Playoffs oor they will have a new coach and QB ......

I highly doubt that maybe Mike shanhann but that about it LOL

Its not the offence we have to worry.

The oline was better in 07 when we gave up something like 23 sacks all year (ranked 6th)

well 10 wins is only good enough for like 2nd in the AFC south usually and not even 10 winz can get u a WC .......... u know how hard it is to win 10 games much less 11 or 12 anything above that your shooting for 16 and 0 and thats History IMO
