probowl

Texans1984

Practice Squad
who from the texans has a good chance of making the probowl besides aj we have to send more than one player this year

I would agree with ya steel blue, Dunta and one of our linebackers, but other than that I dont see anyone else making it.

I think that Wong will come out of nowhere and go, being in the middle he will be able to get more tackles and more picks.

Aj and hopefully Dunta. I think Coleman has a shot. Maybe Davis if he can stay healthy the whole season. He he played the whole season like he did the last few games he would def. make it.

Jerome Mathis, he will make it as a KR/PR ala Steve Smith in his rookie year.

Then next year him and AJ will be like Steve Smith and Mushin Muhammed, but only better. Wow, im being very optimistic. But i have a gut feeling he will make it as a KR this year though.

AJ, Dunta, and hopefully Carr.

im gonna put one out there that is a legit one, Chad Stanley, he should have gone once already, i think it was 2003 but it might have been 04, dunno... he had led the league in a few diff categories i think, he could have a good year, might make it, also Todd Wade or Chester Pitts could have good years... but the more likely are AJ and DROB, and DD (plays healthy, hits holes like the end of the year)

What the hell are you guys talking about? Carr? McKinney? Davis? The only two people that will even make the probowl will be Andre Johnson and Dunta Robinson, because this rookie is going to progress this year. Unless we make a trade with some other team and get a goood player, we cannot get more than two of our guys. :homer:
the mckinney thing was people making a joke man, notice pigs flying stuff like that, and Carr has a shot, did anyone think Brees was going to last year, so i wont write him off. and DD is being judged on how he ended the year last year, which was a very strong note

the pro bowl sucks, how in the hell did the titans bulluck not make despite leading the league in tackles? he even led the fan vote!!! so dont get your hopes up about good players like robinson making the pb. :hairpull:

just cuz you lead the league in tackles doesnt mean much, just ask jamie sharper

Andre didnt lead the leauge in receptions or yards and still went so its not totally based on stats its how well the player plays. and thats why D-rob will go cause hes consistant and im saying it now D-rob is goin to teh prowbowl.

Probowler Possibilities:

Johnson for sure.

Robinson for sure.

More obscure possibilities are:

Marcus Coleman (second year as a FS, he could be awesome this season)
Antwan Peek (A full season to show his stuff? could be great)
David Carr (he will be better protected)
Domanick Davis (if our Oline continues their great run blocking)

No one from our Oline will make it because individual ability on the Oline does not catch anyones eye. probowl Olinemen are picked either by name recognition, or awesome protection from the line as a whole. Our line will be better but we arent gonna be one of the best in the league, so none of our Olinemen are going to get recognized.

no its not just about stats but bulluck led won the "fan vote" and still didnt go, im just saying not to get your hopes up.

the fan vote counts for like 1/3, if that, fan vote is strickly for fans to feel like they are involved, and keep fans watching.. so when a player is a pro bowler, that they voted for, the fan is happier

hmm, Dunta should have made it last year. i think the texans with a shot for the probowl are: AJ, Drob, Carr, DD, Pitts, Greenwood, Wong, Coleman. not saying they'll make it, but of all the texans, i think they'd have the best shot.

I would say you have to add Peek to that list. He is going to be an animal.

yeah, i'd add peek, but i'm thinking he'll struggle a bit starting. maybe for the next year though.

If Peek is going to struggle starting in his 3rd year....he ain't gonna ever 'get it'.

"struggle a bit" is what i said. he's got the rush aspect down, just needs to be a better overall LB. even pro bowlers "struggle a bit", but i'm sure Peek will get over it and become productive and solid.

First of all, like any award that is determined by a vote, it means very little. Essentially, these things become popularity contests more than anything. Do you know why Kyle Turley has never been to a probowl?... Because he is disliked!

That being said, I'm looking forward to the following list of Texans playing at an elite/ near elite level next season:

David Carr (projecting out the first half of last season, carr would've had 4200 yards and only 10 interceptions)
Andre Johnson (one of the 10 best WR in the league now, young, and has an exceptional attitude and work ethic)
Todd Wade (someone will get credit for the line's improvement)
Dominick Davis (1500 yards if he's healthy for most of the season)
Robaire Smith (he and Johnson will create enough push to get to the QBs after Peek and Babin force the Qb forward in the pocket)
Antwaan Peek (Charles Haleyesque)
Dunta Robinson (5 sacks, 5 picks, 100 tackles, etc...)
Glenn Earl (lots of opportunities to launch himself unblocked at WRs, ball carrieres, and Qbs)
