Sage Rosenfels....

drewmar74

disgruntled
Sage is ditching number 18 and will wear number 2. Sidney Rice didn't want to ditch 18 so he had to pick something new.

Sage said he picked it because he has two children and likes the band U2.

I figured it was because someone asked him to pick a number that most closely represented his level of play in the Colts game.

Yes, I'm still bitter about that. So what?

Well, we get to see him again in pre-season. I hope we win, but I also hope Sage has a good game and a good career with the Vikings. I wish him all the luck in the world, except when they are playing us of course.

I could care less about Sage Rosenfels. The Colts game showed me all that I need to know about that over-rated backup QB.

I don't wish him any ill-will, but I'm not going to root for the dude.

Allrightythen.

I agree though. That game told me it was all about him, not the team. I think he was trying to make plays himself to improve his own opportunities rather than helping the Texans seal the deal against a good team.

I know teams (except Dallas) usually don't go all out against the passer in the preseason, but I really hope we put him on his ass multiple times. Without injury of course.

That's my take, as well. His play was selfish. Instead of just finishing the last few minutes the way he played the entire game before, being a good field general and sealing the deal, he decided it was audition time. I just can't get past the mentality and the fact that this type of play seems to be his M.O.

I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but this isn't about him personally. It's about Sage the football player. I can separate the two as a Texans football fan.

Easy, easy now. We need to remember Sage doesn't like to be yelled at. What a puh c.

So you say you could care less....why would you want to ! Unless you meant that you couldn't care less, which then I would understand. :shades:

that would be #55 .... he played well all but about 5 minutes but that last 5 was as bad as it gets.

.. perhaps it was the number of 360's he did in the air before landing?

I like Sage a lot as a person (and as a backup QB). I wish him the best in Minnesota or where ever he may end up. I really like the Chicago Bears so I won't be rooting for him against them or the Texans. Now that the Bears dont have Grossman starting and traded for Cutler, they'll be an even more fun team to wach. So I guess it boils down to, I want Sage to have success but not enough to where it effects the other teams I like. haha

When a career backup player chooses the number 2, you have to start getting a clue as to how he values his worth
Problem with this line of thinking is that Vince didn't realize they wouldn't carry enough QB's in Tennessee.

"Come on Coach... I don't want to switch my number to 3!"

Sage is still a backup after "auditioning" in every game and Vick will be playing for $200 a game. At least some things are right in this world.

Since the douche cost us our first winning season.

*disclaimer - we had other opportunities to win games but the rosencopter was by far the biggest example of selfish asshatery seen in many years and, as such, makes Sage the perfect scapegoat for me to dump my frustrations upon.

Rosencopter was the difference between 8-8 and 9-7, plus we had chance to whip them Colts.

That's not whining, but just stating the facts as a disgruntled Texans fan that's tired of 7 straight seasons of suck.

Rosencopter will live on in infamy in the minds of Houston football fans, just like "this is my house!" sausage boy and the '06 draft after 2-14.

I let myself have one of these

...during the week of that game
then I let it go.

I mean, what else ya gonna do?

I am not sticking up for Sage because what he did was wrong and unreal but I know he wanted to be the Texans starter so badly after all it was his dream and I think he might have been trying too hard to show the world that he has what it takes to be a starter and got caught up in a total mess JMO.
