Brian Cushing in Madden 10

To anybody that is interested EA sports has released the ratings for rookies in Madden 2010. At the EA sports site you can download a small excell file that has the ratings. I would post link but there site is having problems now and i cant navigate back to the page. Anyhow Cushings overall rating is 78.

Funny&

How does that compare to Demeco Ryans or our other LBs?

Demeco's name wasn't even on Madden 07, every time he made a tackle the announcer said #59. But he was in the lower to mid 90's this season. Compared to other first round rookies, his grade is very similar.

Yeah, and in 08 he was De-meck-o Ryans..... at least they finally got it right in 09.

78 is bull c*** for the 2nd linebacker off the board in the draft... keith rivers was like an 85 whose rookie year in the game...i think 84 is appropriate for cushing but his awareness has to be higher than the 60s...i thinkin more low 70s....plus his toughness has to be in the 90s

maybe its time to end my EA Sports boycott.
I haven't bought a Madden game since they diss'ed Mario with those VY and RB commercials.

Agreed. The ratings have been garbage for rookies on Madden for years though. No surprise.

If you play a season, they hardly go up as well.

I'll never forget on 09.....slaton was a 72 overall. with the online roster updates he jumps to an 87 ovr. :splits:

Too bad his face looks like Boselli.

EA is claiming they have made significant changes this year. Which they say every year. I'm probably going to rent it, play the dog out of it for 7 days, and be done with it. Spend about $7 in rental fees: Save about $53.

EA is proof that a monopoly is bad for all involved. They haven't had to worry about really making some good upgrades. They're the only game in town.

And, "Yes," Texecutioner...the overall ratings for rookies are the most lame thing about the game. The rookies aren't 6th graders...they're men. Whoever is assigning the initial grades is a dumbazz, IMO.

Last Madden I played was '05, but it shouldn't be too hard to jack up their rating through in-season performance. I had 6 defensive backs rated in the mid-70s shoot up to the high 80s at the end of the season. Had to let most of them go when they started whining about stuff like money.

That's the other reason I've refused to buy Madden since '06. The 2K-series played better, IMHO, than Madden.

I like your plan. I may steal it.
:)

I'm pretty sure they already have the rookies created and graded before the draft.

They just release it afterward so they can put them on the right teams.

IIRC, VY was like a 85 his rookie year, Bush was a 84, and Mario was a 78. I don't think I'll be looking to them on predictions for these guys' career.

When they released Bush was an 87 and Mario was an 86 with ridiculous physical stats but 40 awr.

Pretty sure they said Bush was the highest rated rookie to that point in Madden history.

i don't mind the ranking so much. i scrolled through the other ratings and it seemed fair comparatively. the only player that was drafted below him with a higher overall rating was Pettigrew who's a TE so it's to be expected.

the ratings seem about right to me. EA Sports can't predict a a rookies production, so they rate them basically where they go in the draft and in what order they were picked in. They trust the scouts/etc to make the ratings

I curse EA for having exclusive rights to NFL players names and stadiums and everything football. The 2K series were just as good and a lot cheaper. Madden is for die-hard fans only because it is loaded with features and is a very tough game to play if your new to the franchise.

I hope 2K can come back in a few years *sigh*

i take the texans to the SB every year........

I refuse to buy any EA game after they got the exclusive rights to the NFL and tried to buy up the rights to NBA. I miss the 2K sports games by Visual Concepts as they were so much better then Madden. I didnt see your post Texan4Ever and I agree 100%

Keith Rivers deserved that rating though. He and Mayo were in a class of their own, until Rivers got hurt.

Madden rankings are a popularity contest for rookies because nobody knows how good they really are. Case in point Bush being the best rookie to ever appear in a Madden game. Only time will tell.

LOL, no, it was his number in college.

That's down right kooky. -.- my bad...

Ha. That's what happens when you never watch college football outside of C-USA and Big 12. Or keep up with the draft. The only picks I saw live was the first, sixth and 7th rounds due to prior commitments with school. bleh, didn't even have a chance to research beforehand.

Oh, and for those of ya'll who didn't download the excel file, I went ahead and compiled the ratings. I'll skip Cushing since he's already been mentioned.

Connor Barwin: 70 OVR, 84 SPD, 88 ACC, 78 STR, 76 AGI, 48 AWR
Antoine Caldwell: 72 OVR, 60 SPD, 84 ACC, 80 STR, 62 AGI, 48 AWR
Anthony Hill: 63 OVR, crap attributes rest of the way... rofl
James Casey: 73 OVR, 74 SPD, 73 ACC, 61 STR, 75 AGI, 63 AWR

Those are the only 5 (including Cushing) on the list so far. I was going to do each attribute, but there are way too many, and I should be waking up in about 3 hours. So meh. i'll finish tomorrow or something.

CLICK HERE for the Excel file link if you want it.
