I wish the Texans would take Maualuga but I just don't see them moving Demeco. I'll take Matthews over Cushing if it comes down to it. All 3 could have good NFL careers.

I'd take Maualuga at gun point and worry about who plays where later.... I'm a wee bit concerned Ryans may not be who we thought he was.

same issue, I like the story on the Rice kid, James Casey. article focused on how the next stage of the Wild(Bull)? will be more pass capable along with the run.

if it helps our Red Zone, I hope we will be looking at employing it more this season.

Over hyped USC players. If we must take one make it Rey. Anybody but Cushing. Why would we use our 1st round draft choice on an injury prone player.

Hey guys. New Texans fan here. I'm moving to Austin at the end of the year, so I figured I'd get an early start on following my new adopted NFL team. After being a big Oilers fan as a kid in the late-70s, it seems like a natural fit.

Anyway, in his chat yesterday, John McClain stated that he continues to believe that the Texans are likely to trade down into the latter portion of the first round, and indicated that the Texans may not have a strong preference for one of the linebackers over another. That may not be accurate, but his view seems to be that their interest in acquiring additional selections outweighs their preference for one player over another.

It seems probable that, if faced with the option of two or more players they covet at #15, the Texans will trade down and be content to take whichever one falls to them at the lower draft spot.

Finally, on a related note, as a guy who didn't see a single Texans game last season, how would you characterize the play of Xavier Adibi, and did he show any signs in the latter portion of the season to suggest that he may still have a bright future?

DeMeco got eaten alive last year. He's a fantastic leader but he obviously doesn't need to be in the middle taking on blockers. Moving him to outside with Rey inside would cure alot of our running problems.

Anyone but Matthews in the first. We don't need to use the 15th pick on a glorified special-teamer like Clay. He's second-round talent at best.

I don't see the Texans taking an LB in the first. If they valued the postion Pat Willis would be here and DeMeco would have a long-term deal done

That is my thinking, DeMeco know the game so well, that he was able to be successful out of position. But he is taking a beating in the middle, and I think his increase in injuries is due to this.

Get Rey, move DeMeco and watch him really shine at a position that he is better suited for.
