heres how il feel on draft day if the texans (without a trade down) take:

everette brown: ecstatic
malcolm jenkins: ditto
maybin or orakpo (sliding possibly): happy
clay: ok. a bit pissed if one of the above is available
cushing: underwhelmed & downright pissed if its over any of the above. could possibly eat my texans hat live on webcam if it happens :user:
any offensive player: im not watching round 2


feel free to do the same. should be good for some lulz after the pick on draft day

yeah i was taking the piss out of swtbound? wasnt it after the duane brown fiasco that set the franchise back years? :) no idk what happened. i presume hes still around here waiting for doomsday.. i mean draft day again?

Given the possibility of Brown or Orakpo sliding are slim I'd be happy with them. Not prototypical size for a DE but have the speed to go outside. Freeney and Mathis huge but they give OL fits.

I would love for Jenkins to fall in our lap at 15.

I'd have to see who else is available at 15 before I'd get pissed about getting Clay or Cushing.

Jenkins is aproduct of playing in the overrated BIG 11.

Any good receiver Benn, the LSU & FLA receivers made him look bad.

If we stay at 15:

I'll only be slightly ticked if we take Maybin at 15, b/c while he's got great upside, i don't think he'd be ready to step in & contribute right away - which is what we need.

extremely ticked if we take an offensive guy anywhere in the 1st unless we've got 2 picks in the 1st.

If we trade back & any of those guys are available:

i'll be more ticked simply b/c i think they're more worried about getting a guy at a certain value rather than just selecting the guy the guy they like best at that point.

I'm still upset that we took him for what it's worth. I have no confidence that he will pan out to be "irreplaceable" before his rookie contract ends.

I think we'll find out this year what's what with our LT. As to who we actually draft this weekend, I'm not going to get to upset with anything, unless they do something phenomenally stupid like take a WR on the first day. Now THAT would piss me off. LOL

The only offensive players they should be looking at on the first day is either linemen or a RB.

I'd rather have an offensive player than Cushing or Matthews.

That would be a good post if Jenkins had covered Cosby in the Fiesta Bowl.

Ohio St tried to move Jenkins around and we just threw to the opposite side all game. Donald Washington got abused.
 
As long as we don't take Beanie Wells, I just have a hunch that he will be injured all the time, something his talent can't overcome.

Matthews is the only guy that I don't really care for, but if we picked him I wouldn't be mad. I'd just hope he panned out. Draft day is not a time for anger.

I did notice Jenkins wasnt thrown at much. I think I may faint if he falls to us.
 
swtbound is usually mild mannered...

But wow that day I swear he was going to kill Rick Smith. It took him all day to calm himself down. He was freakin pissed!:wild:

They pick Maualuga....or Micheal Johnson, I'm going to be prety upset.
 
I think I'll be sitting there and just have a sort of "matter of fact" feeling no matter what player is announced.

I won't be a surprised as most of you IF an offensive player is taken. I won't be upset because that would tell me what they thought of him and what they thought of the Defensive talent available.

If they choose Tyson Jackon or any of the DE/OLBs, I will probably feel a little uneasy. Jackson solely because I think he'll be nothing more than a run stopping LDE on our team and just wouldn't really like it. The DE/OLBs like Brown, Maybin, etc. I think are pretty risky and I don't know how to evaluate them and for what position on our team. I think they would either be taken because (i) the front office feels like they can be great players/pass rusher on this team or (ii) they're worried about our pass rush and are trying to get lucky by taking the best available. I would hate the pick if it was b/c of #2.

I truly will (probably) be happy with whoever is selected if they're rated at the top of the Texans board. I don't care how they measure up to ESPNs or Mayocks. So long as they don't reach (considerably) on a player at the expense of taking a better overall talent. For example: If they have Connor Barwin rated higher than Brown, Maybin, Cushing, Maualuga, Matthews, etc. I'll take it.

However, if they have a guy like Jenkins or Maclin rated a lot higher than Clay Matthews but take Matthews anyways... I wouldn't be that pleased.

I would be upset if we took Maualuga or Maybin. I just don't see those guys translating to the NFL.

I'm okay with it if they take Michael Johnson because if they do, they are saying that he checked out in interviews and they think they can keep him motivated.

Man, I thought the Young/Bush maniacs were going to burn Reliant to the ground. ...and that's not counting the guys who wanted us to grab D'Brick...

What's pleasantly different about this coming weekend is that we're not forced into anything by gaping holes on either side of the ball. Sure, there are positions that could definitely be upgraded (and we all have our own ideas as to where those are) but if we go BPA instead of targeting a position, I won't be terribly upset.
