DENVER---The Denver Broncos have traded disgruntled quarterback to the Washington Redskins in exchange for Jason Campbell and an undisclosed draft pick.

"It's nice to finally get this over with and know who I'll play for this season. I'll miss my teammates in Denver, but I know I'll have a good opportunity in Washington," says Cutler.

Former Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell declined comment through his agent.

"Jason was a great guy for us, but we couldn't pass on the opportunity to acquire a quarterback of this caliber," says Redskins coach Jim Zorn. "We have no doubt he'll be successful in this league, but Jay is a better fit for our ball club."

So could the Texans have gotten him for Schaub and an undisclosed pick?

Why couldn't Kubes bring in the Denver castoff that was actually worth a ****?

Zorn, Cerrato, Snyder Spent Huddled All Day In Snyder’s Office
Posted by Mike Florio on April 1, 2009, 10:37 p.m.

We’re told via a short chain of reliable sources that things were interesting this morning in Washington.

As we hear it, Redskins executive V.P. of football operations Vinny Cerrato was retrieved from draft meetings at roughly 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday to go to owner Daniel Snyder’s office. Not long thereafter, they fetched coach Jim Zorn.

And the three men remained in Snyder’s office into the evening.

The obvious implication? They’re working on this whole Jay Cutler thing.

Or maybe they were playing Call of Duty.

Rumors Fly Of Redskins’ Efforts To Move Campbell
Posted by Mike Florio on April 1, 2009, 10:26 p.m.

Amid reports that the Washington Redskins are actively pursuing a trade for Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler, we’ve caught wind of rumors that the Redskins are trying to trade current starter Jason Campbell.

We need to emphasize that this is a rumor, and we’re currently trying to nail down whether or not it’s an accurate rumor.

Campbell is under contract through 2009. Talk of signing him to a new contract subsided significantly after his strong start to the 2008 season faded into something less than that.

You betcha!
So does the "official" in your first post mean that the deal is official, or did it mean like, "a team official says"?

Last thing I read was that the Skins were shopping Campbell for a 2nd. No official word on any Cutler trade at this time.

As long as Jason Campbell can run the McDaniels offense, I think this is a good trade for both teams. Campbell in 2008 threw 252 passes without a single INT which is an amzing feat. He may not have sexy stats but this guy can become a force few years down the road.
