Giants have the chips to move up in the first round
Giants have the chips to move up in the first roundIf the New York Giants are serious about getting a big-time receiver in the upcoming NFL Draft, the organziation has the bargaining chips to move up to the middle of the first round, according to the New York Daily News.
The Giants have the 29th selection in the draft and probably won't have a shot at Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree (a projected top-seven pick), or Missouri's Jeremy Maclin (a projected top-10 pick) and they would have to move up to get a shot at Maryland wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey.
However, the Giants have chips to move into the middle of the first round if they want to give up one of their second-round picks, either their own (No. 60) or the pick they acquired from the Saints (No. 45) for Jeremy Shockey, according to the Daily News.
The report also suggesed the Giants could put together a package for Arizona's Anquan Boldin, who could replace the troubled Plaxico Burress. Boldin still does not have a new deal from the Cardinals.
