How would you rate ESPN's coverage of the draft?

Wolf

100% Texan
Overall I was kinda disappointed.. I tried to watch it, but it seemed like they didn't go into depth (like I used to remember).. maybe A.D.D is creeping in.. but seemed to me .. Maybe I am just biased.. but as far as when the Texans were on.. I saw a quick clip of the player.. but then they jumped to some other prospect..

Maybe I was expecting more.. I didn't get the sense of ......before the pick.. this is what the team needs and might target..Here is the draft pick.. here is highlights .. here is what the team can do now because of him.. ok.. next team needs are this..

Seems when I saw it... it was heres the pick.. here is a 10 second shot of highlights... commercial... commercial... mels big board ranking of him.. commercial .. next pick...

maybe I need to take ritalin..before the next draft

Overall, their coverage was decent...Nothing special, but not overly terrible...I did hate all of the commercials though..."My project is..." Gahhhh I hate that commercial...After a while I just muted it...

Other than Mathis it seemed they didn't care about who we picked. And listening to Berman and Golic for that long made me want to break something.

I am from Canada so i don't get ESPN, we have TSN instead :thumbdown (and they mostly show hockey :thumbdown ). anyway, did ESPN show the whole first day draft? cause over here they didn't even show the whole first round.

Corey Chavous is the man when it comes to draft coverage. But instead of using him, they got Mike Vrabel, who used the stage to simply bash other players, very un classy.

I thought it sucked, because (not just with the Texans) they didn't stick with the latest pick. They should have talked about and shown clips for each pick rather than gotten all caught up in who they thought should have gone where.

I was out running last minute errands for my daughters birthday party and could only listen to the first part of round one on Sirius. I missed a few of the first 5 picks while I was buying helium for balloons, and I swear it took them absolutely forever to recap the picks.
I mean they were talking about anything and everything while the next team was on the clock, but just didn't seem to want to review the previous picks. They were even playing audio clips from the draftee's highlights which was pretty worthless if you ask me. It wasn't until about the 10th pick that I knew Chicago picked Ced...
man, I was stuck in saturday traffic, running late to get the party started, missing televised coverage, and couldn't get a simple pick recap. I was pretty livid.
On a brighter note, my little girl had her first birthday, was surrounded by loved ones and tasted cake for the first time... it was worth every second of frustration... :thumbup

Vrabel did seem elitist.

I didn't like how they changed the teams logo (on the left side) before the current pick was even announced.

The draft coverage on ESPN is a little tired. I think the Boomer is more interested, as he should be for what they paid for it, in the baseball. Kiper does a good job evaluating tallent. He was pretty befuddled at the Johnson slip. It would of been nice to have someone slap him down after he drove it into the dirt for the thirteenth time. Say what you want about Theisman, he wasn't afraid to slap Kiper down. Thought they did a very good job of the Ced moment. Leave the blow alone dude. :shocked Be very glad Chicago is not on the schedule Texan's fans.

Michealm: congrates on the birthday. Chicken little here. My advise is to wait on those PSLs till after the coaching change. JMHO.

ESPN's coverage blew big, fat, hiary chunks. Several times, espiclly in teh later rounds a team would turn in it's pick only to have the commich wait for ESPN to get back from commerical break or whatever feature they were running. I know this because a radio station here in Dallas is live from the draft for all the picks; and woudl routinly comment that the pick had been turned in, wait ESPN was holding things up.

I had ESPN on teh TV, on mute, the Ticket on teh radio and the MB pulled up.

Less time between draft picks please!!!! Usually I don't watch the draft until it's close to our pick but this year I wanted to watch it from the start and I got tired of it by pick no.2! I can't listen to Mel Kiper, Chris Berman, and all of those talking heads anymore...they have to shorten the time between picks in the first round! It's ridiculous to give them 15 mins each!
