If Warner wanted out, he would've terminated his negotiations with the Cardinals. He doesn't want to go anywhere, he just wants to get paid.

Kurt Warner apparently didn't leave his heart in San Francisco after a successful visit with the 49ers on Monday that could net him a rich two-year contract. Warner's heart is still with the Arizona Cardinals.

While he's pondering a more lucrative offer by the 49ers, Warner reached out to the Cardinals to give them a chance to sign him at a "hometown" discount.

On Tuesday, Warner instructed his agent, Mark Bartelstein, to make a two-year, $23 million proposal to stay with the Cardinals. According to Bartelstein, Warner's proposal would include $12 million in guarantees, $6 million each season.

To further sweeten the deal to the Cardinals, Warner, through Bartelstein, is willing to reduce his contract by $1 million a year if they can successfully renegotiate the contract of wide receiver Anquan Boldin.

Sheesh. I bet they are still deducting that FedEx delivery cost as a business expense, though. Orgs like that are more crooked than a pig's you-know-what.
 
Bidwell maybe worse than Bud Adams as an owner. Both deserve what they got in there only SB appearances.
 
Why is this so much different than the deal the Packers had with Farve last year ?
They apperantly want to go with their young QB (Leinert) and not Warner.
I guess it's OK for the Pack but not the Cards ?

yep, anything but the Cards at this point. I understand wanting to end his career there, all things considered, but they have yet to offer him a deal (even when he's giving a hometown discount). Cook or get out of the kitchen!

The Bears are definitely not a bad choice. It seems that with a decent QB, they could really make some noise if their defense remains strong.

Did u not see how we torched them last year? Their defense is on it's last leg.

The fact that the Cardinals reportedly had a $10 Million per year offer on the table to Warner indicates they don't want to go with Leinart, they just didn't want to pay what Warner considered to be Fair Market Value. That would mean if they let Warner go, it would be for financial reasons, and not football reasons. I don't believe anybody ever thought GB's decision to get rid of Favre was anything but a football reason.

ESPN radio is now reporting Warner and the Cardinals have a greed to a two-year $23 Million deal.

They had some bad luck with their D last year. Also, despite Matt Forte's 1200 + yards they were at the bottom of the league (24 in yards and 27 in y/a). Not to mention the passing game.
