If you don't like something, tear me up...

I loooove Greene in the 3rd.

I dont have an issue with Wells to the bucs because its hard to see him fall any further, but with their urgent need for a WR with Hilliard and Galloway being released and clayton a FA next year, Maclin would be a good pick since he is available.

Also I think that DET will go QB since there is not a #1 consensus OT.

Other than that good work.

I like the pick of Smith, but IMO the Lions will take Curry #1. Also, they have so many needs that I think it would be ridiculous for them to take a QB. I just don't see how they can justify taking a QB when he has nothing to work with. You gotta fix everything else before you worry about a QB. Besides neither Stafford or Sanchez is worth the #1 pick.

Also love the pick of Greene in the 3rd. Greene and Brown are my top 2 RB's for us to take in the draft and they both fall into our area of the 3rd round. Hopefully we can walk out of the 3rd with a backup RB.

For the Bucs, it came down to Wells and Maclin. Maclin made so much sense here but in the end, I just think that Wells is too talented for them to pass up. My thinking is that Wells and a WR (probably Harvin or Britt) in the top of the 2nd (Winslow trade) will be better than Maclin and a HB later. Even though I didn't change the picks from of the Winslow trade I decided to go that route.

I have Jason Smith as my #1 OT and I have for some time now. After reading about how well he did in the interviews at the combine, I really think the Lions will eventually look to him as the #1 pick.

Thanks for your input.

Well I have Stafford going #10 and Sanchez #17 so I don't think they are worth the #1.

As for the Freeman pick, new regimes usually want to bring in their own QB and Freeman has the tools. I think it would be a mistake to take him here, but Detroit isn't exactly known for drafting particularly well.

I'm surprised you have us going Chung with Ayers still on the board. EDIT: Ooops. Nevermind. I had forgotten that Ayers isn't a rush specialist. My bad.

Of the teams I've done at least a little research on...

The Saints have issues on their defense but I don't think DE is their big need. They're looking at corner (especially if they don't sign Bartell) and outside linebacker.

That first pick you have for the Giants is a definite possibility but after that, I think you're off. They're looking at DE (which you covered) and OLB (I mean, they had Danny Clark starting last year) but they're also going to target a WR early. They're losing Toomer and who knows what's up with Burress. With their franchising of Jacobs, I don't think they're going with another tailback before the 4th or 5th.

I really wouldn't be surprised if they went Connor Barwin with their first pick and then the best WR with their second. With the way your mock was going, I would have expected them to go Robiskie.

Also I understand the Andre Smith pick, but IDK why Cincy would take Harvin in the 2nd. He's never been suspended or been in trouble with the law to my knowledge.

LOL obviously I'm just kidding, but wouldn't it be just priceless if Cincy took Smith after his combine debacle. I don't think I could contain myself if they did.

Concerning a QB I was only talking about the #1 overall pick. I don't see them taking a QB in the 1st round. I could see them taking Freeman though in the 2nd.

That comment about a QB not going #1 was mainly directed at my man Super Mario.

Honestly, I cheated with our pick. I expected the Smith signing to happen so I passed on Ayers and went with Chung.

With the Saints it was either reach for D.J. Moore or take the best defensive player available. DE isn't their biggest need on defense, but they really only have three or four players on defense that aren't replaceable.

Robiskie was in play for the pick in the second round, and I think you make a good point. I probably should have gone with him there.

I edited my post.

I've had Ayers on my "to get" list so long and I hadn't updated that list since the Smith signing. I wasn't thinking.

I Like Rashad Johnson FS Bama over Pat Chung in this scenario. Other than that swap, I would be happy if things fell this way, even if Mathews is taken about 8-10 picks too high.

I like Rashad Johnson more than Chung as a player, but since we re-signed Eugene Wilson we need a SS not a FS.

I might be the only one, but I REALLY want Aaron Maybin in the 1st now that we've addressed our LDE need with Antonio Smith. I like Maybin over Matthews and Cushing, but that's just me probably.

Do you mean as a LB? I think Maybin is an inriguing prospect as a DE, but I think he would be a liability in coverage as a 4-3 LB.

I have a real hard time projecting Maybin, not sure if he will be a RDE or OLB? same could be said for Mathews. Cushing has the tools to play inside or outside, not enamored with his mindset however advantage Mathews. in the end all three might just cancel each other out (Texans). I would prefer sticking with the game plan of addressing a pure pass rusher or cover cornerback rounds 1-2. no wang chung tonight, but I will take me some green :)

Yeah I think Maybin would be a good fit as a 4-3 OLB for the Texans, but that's just my opinion.

I would be hesitant to use a 1st round pick on him to play 4-3 OLB. He played DE his entire college career and if he played 3-4 OLB he would still be a pass rusher. But he would no longer be a pass rusher as a 4-3 OLB he would just be a LB.

Since he has never played that position and has always been a pass rusher I would hesitate to draft him that way. He has never had coverage responsibilties and would have to learn. He would also have to change his defensive mentality as he would not be rushing the passer on every play.

He could be great with that change and he could also bust. As a 4-3 team I would rather we draft him as a DE.

How scary is it that USC is about to put a whole unit into the top 15ish of the draft?!?

Denver passing REYREY for cushing? San Diego a happy panda. Merriman + Maualuga = Hell on Wheels flying around in defensive territory

If Malaluga is there at 15, I say take him. That way we make him our MLB and move Demeco to the SLB.

For the second round I would rather take Conner Barwin he's jus so versatile we could move around alot on the field. I know we need a saftey but Sean Jones is still out there maybe we sign him...

Third round if we can get Shonn Greene then thats a steal if not I'd be happy with Michael Hamlin or Derek Pegues. :texflag:

Bah, I respect the work you've put into this, and I know you know more about these players than I do.

But if Detroit doesn't trade out of that top spot, I feel they would use their first three picks on defense.

Now, I know they just picked up two CBs, Anthony Henry, and Eric King, but they've got to get younger and faster on that side of the ball. I'm not saying they're set on offense, but If I were the Lions, I would sell out on defense.

They've got two first round tackles, they've got Culpepper & Stanton, they've got two first round WRs, a nice backfield, I know they've got issues, but they need so much help on defense it ain't funny.

I don't see the Texans selecting Matthews at 15. They can trade down at least 9-10 slots and still pick him up. You also have Miami drafting Sean Smith. I don't see that happening since he projects as more of a Safety than a Corner and they just signed Wilson and Bell to new deals. Don't like the Chung selection either. There's already a logjam at SS for the Texans.

Jason Smith has over taken the #1 spot. It will come down to Smith or Curry. No way they go QB when there isnt one worthy of a top ten pick IMO. Hell there are some that think Sanchez will be the better QB. Stafford is going to get picked apart more and more as thr draft draws near you watch.

Bah007's nice job as usual! Now Im going to cherry pick because thats what I do. :specnatz:

15.HOU – Clay Matthews – OLB, USC - Would really like to trade down and add an extra pick and try and get Mathews later but if we cant Im fine with him here.

46.HOU – Victor Harris – CB, Virginia Tech - This guy has been on my radar for awhile now. He's a versatile athlete who has seen time at cornerback, free safety, running back, wide receiver and as a returner on both kickoffs and punts. Hes a real playmaker. He had six interceptions last season, two for touchdowns, and he led the team with 14 passes defended. Good open-field tackler who can really lay the wood. Will come up aggressively in run support. This is the icing on the cake, he was the unquestioned locker-room leader VT.

77.HOU – Jarrett Dillard - Rice - He becomes our Wes Welker. Enough said!

Victor "Macho" Harris is an ok corner I watched the combine and his hips were not fluid out of his brakes he didnt go get the ball at its highest point which is critical for someone that is 5'11 187 and at that weight his sub 4.7 forty wont cut it....

Jarrett Dillard would be a nice 5th rounder... to compare him to Wes Welker is a LITTLE extreme. I mean the guy came from rice sure he caught alot of tds but who was he playing?

One of us need to rewatch the combine because I remember him being very good at catching the ball at its highest point. You mention his slow 40 but did you notice his 20 yard shuttle? 3.98 thats better than Malcom Jenkins or Vonte Davis. Dont be fooled by near meaningless combine numbers. Besides are you judging the guy just from the combine? Have you seen him play? I have and the guy is a playmaker and has versatility to play several positions. Take a look at this quote. Its not about Harris can you guess who?

"In what is certainly not a coincidence, ______was isolated once again today on wide receivers and running backs in pass routes. And like the times before he provided tight coverage, jumping a few routes and defending passes. As one NFL scout with the N.Y. Giants said, "He's not the fastest but he sure is around the football all the time. In our business sometimes we focus on how they got there and not the fact that they got there. When it comes down to it, being there is what its all about. And it sure seems like ______ is always there."

Sound familar? By the way the blanks were DeMeco Ryans the best second round pick weve ever had and one of best players on this team. Luckily for us there were alot of GMs out there that think like you.

Now about Jarret Dillard. And I didnt say he was going to be as productive as Welker. I said he would be our Wes Welker. As in he would have a similar role as Welker. He would be our clutch sure handed slot WR. Youre right about him not playing alot of good competition but when he did he played his best. He caught 9 for a 158 yards against Texas lst year. With his impressive vertical and great hands he could be a very good slot WR. In fact I would go as for as saying he is in the top 2 or 3 best hands in this draft. Having said all that I will concede that he more likely will go in the 4th.

I've been working on this one since the combine ended. It's a full three rounds (any draft picks that have been traded since the combine will not be included).

Hey having tried to do mocks in the past and getting board before the 1st round is over, I applaud the work that went into this. Great Job.

Not a Green fan, he is a little old for me. I like my RBs to be under 23 at draft time.

Chung is a SS but he cover better than any FS this team has had in the past. But I agree with you, I want my 2nd rounder on the field and I do not see him on the field this year.

This is a good mock and I'm sure took some time ... thanks .

Couple of guys in the pile I'm sure they're, the scouts, going to have to take a second look at. I banged Lydon Murtha pretty hard. Fact of the matter is, he lifted well ran the fastest forty of all the OL....and he fits the profile of what the Texans Mushroom king wants. Former TE....played several o-line positions. Unassuming. I think he could cover four of the five o-line spots. Would a south Carolina Owner pick a Clemson safety ? Pay him ? Only guy to post a sub 4.4, Safety no less. Go figgure. Scouts will be in the film room watching their body of work. The point being we're four weeks out and it's all still fluid.

I liked he first two picks. Although I still believe they will stick to what they've always done....Take DBs on the second day. If the mind think is contagious...you might just find yourself sitting in the second round with Malcome Jenkins sitting there at the Texans slot.
