The buzz is abound!!!

Now that enough time has lapsed and plummer settled his dispute with Tampa Bay, the wire is sizzling with chatter that the "Chosen One" AKA Jake Plummer is coming back to the NFL as an unrestricted free agent!!!!

Could it be?!??!?! Please, oh please let it be the truth!

I'd take him as a backup for this year if the Sage trade goes through. If he's football ready, why not? He knows the system already and I don't see him getting a starting role right away with his absence.

you could conceivably do worse off of the bench than Jake

He's better than Rosencopter. ;)

Hell, he is better than most active NFL quarterbacks today right out of the gates. Once he got a chance to knock some rust off, he has the potential to be the best NFL quarterback in a generation.

He has raw talent, speed, athleticism, intelligence, leadership, and given the right amount of time in the pocket, deadly accuracy. He also has that "X factor" which QB's like VY clearly lack.

Plummer has always been a Montana Jr. type of QB. Imagine him with targets like Andre, Owen, and Kevin Walter? He could easily eclipse Tom Brady.

I read an article about him a few weeks ago. Maybe it was in SI. He sounded very content to be out of football and happy with his life. It didn't sound like he would ever think about coming back... but you never know.. It sounded like he was in shape from all of his handball playing and workouts, so it's not like he would be a blob coming right off the couch after 2-3 years.... I was thrilled with the thought of him coming here a few years ago, so coming in as a back-up now would be fine to.

Marv, marv, marv.

LOL. Seriously?

Yeah...I mean he's basically a sure-fire HOFer.

I've never said this of a backup QB before but...if Plummer came here? Championship!!

Obviously Plummer and Kubiak have a good history together and if this came to fruition, it just may be the shot heard round the world(or NFL):texflag:

Getting Plummer would be a great move for the Texans.

My brother lives really close to Plummer in Idaho and I was asking him today to get the scoop for me.

He just laughed. No info coming.

Jake Plummer coaching at Sandpoint High

SANDPOINT, Idaho — Former NFL quarterback Jake Plummer will be the quarterbacks coach at Sandpoint High School, in the scenic Idaho resort town where he lives.

Head coach Mike Mitchell said the 34-year-old Plummer will be paid as a normal assistant high school coach, and joked that it probably won't be what Plummer earned in his playing days.

Plummer played for the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos before retiring in 2006. He threw for more than 29,000 yards, 161 touchdowns and 161 interceptions in his decade-long pro career.

Plummer is a Boise native and retired to Sandpoint, an outdoor mecca in the Rocky Mountains along the shores of Lake Pend Oreille. His brother, Eric, already lived in the town.
