I dont know if any body agrees with me that benson didn't seem to excited to be picked by the bears, i think those were tears of anger not happyness

Those were tears of relief. He has been talked down on because of the Ricky Williams simularities. He now finally feels like some1 has seen the great football player he is, and not the stoner that people are comparing him 2.

Wrong, it just shows how much passion he has for the game and the relief of the entire draft process being over. He was scrutinized by everyone comparing to Ricky and he was tired of it. He was told that he was the 3rd best back and he couldnt do this or that and he was finally relieved to be picked. This is his dream to play in the NFL and it happend. Those were tears of a happy man.

Those were tears of relief.

Being compared to Ricky Williams and not on what he did during his 4 years in college and once being told that he was going to be the 1st RB drafted and then he started hearing that he was going to drop in the draft.

Ced is estatic by being picked by the Bears. The Bears WR coach Darryl Drake was on the Longhorns staff the 1st three years Ced was there and built a close bond with him.

Cedric Benson will be the best RB in this draft and the Bears got a HECK of a RB!!

Those were definitely tears of relief. He really felt that he had been unjustly over-scrutinized during the draft process (whether he was or not - that's how he perceived it). Getting that phone call while the Bears were on the clock - that was a real vindication for him. His interview showed how much those questions about his character and value got to him.

Yea they were tears of happiness/relief at the end finally coming for him.

He said in the interview afterward that he had been so run down by all the comparisons to Ricky. He even got rid of his dreadlocks because he said it was a new beginning for him.

I think of all the drafted guys he was the most humble and grateful to be in the position that he was in.

He was not angry at all.

Ced was clearly happy to be a top-5 pick. I think they made a great pick and he was looking very happy to me.

benson reminds me somewhat of walter payton. i wonder if the bears are thinking this too. the guy even looks like walter a little now that he cut the dreads off.

Those were definatly tears of joy as he is just happy to have the privelage to play in the NFL and going 4th overall. This past year has been hectic for him, with the whole draft process and all the people comparing him to Ricky. I have still yet to find why they compare him to Ricky? Cause he runs like him?Cause they went to Texas? Cause he had dreads? Cause their both black? Cause they both are talented physically and made it in the NFL? I really condemn everyone who compared them two. Benson is a classy guy who even went as far to change his hairdo to make everyone shutup. He really shows a passion for the game. So everyone comparing them needs to shut the ***** up because they are not similar in character. Worst media people I have ever seen, should be ashamed of yourselves you unintelligent waste of human lives. Benson will be far more productive and im really happy for him.

It doesn't surprise me he was compared to Ricky..same school, same position, resemblance in appearance. I dunno. I think sometimes the press can be very intrusive but you know at a big school like Texas he should be use to the publicity. I think he was just worn out by it...same questions I guess can make one after awhile.

And of course prior to this year Ricky was goofy but he set the bar higher by ditching the Dolphins and all.

Cedric just looked to me like he had this huge weight lifted off his shoulder and he reacted very sincerely with tears....
