It's the off-season, and while we know our opponents for next year, we don't know the schedule yet.

Anyone care to speculate on which home game(s) will be on Monday, Sunday, or Thursday night for this coming year?

I think it could be the 49ers game. With Mike Singletary starting his first full year as head coach I think they'll get some publicity and ESPN or NBC will hopefully put two up and coming teams (hopefully) on national TV.

I may be in the minority here, but I'd rather not have any more prime time games......

it's a good drive to and from the game for me..

Voted colts due to how ridiculously that game ended last time.

It's always a good game when the colts come to Reliant (but we always lose)

Be a playoff contender at the last few weeks of the season and we could get flexed to a Sunday nighter. I doubt CBS and Fox are protecting any Texans' games.

Other than that, division games would probably be the better football game so the best bet would probably one of those 3.

That was a mind let down by one player and one player only his name is Sage.

The best chance the Texans have at a primetime game, is a Thursday night NFL Network slot. ESPN and NBC will likely take a pass. This is not a "sexy" team. Yet.

Well I think it will be a team that people actually want to watch(outside Htown). I could see the Htown-NE game in prime time just because there is a big Pat fan base.

Yea, ESPN doesn't respect us enough to air a game of our's yet.

Signed,
Texans 30 - Jags 17

I think that is exactly what we are, the "sexy" pick.

I voted Titans, thats who I hope at least.

Titans (that Mario vs Vince thing is still a sexy NFL story for alot of people) or Colts (Rosencopter v 2.0?).

Voted Colts.

I don't understand why you say that when we already had a Monday Night Football game this year, and won in convincing fashion.

How many MNF games have the Texans played in 7 seasons?

One, which happened to be last year. We won and played in a way that suggested we can handle putting up a good fight on primetime television. Why wouldn't we have another one?

Because this team hasn't won in 7 seasons. Because this team doesn't draw viewers outside the Houston metro area. Because there are teams that didn't get much primetime exposure in 2008 (Arizona, Atlanta, Miami) that will warrant attention in 2009.

Yup. I think the reason we got a MNF game this year was because Jax was a team that was supposedly gonna be a contender. I figure a team like the Pats might be a similar thought of team for next year, hence my choice.

The only way we get on is if we face a team that is either an up and comer or an established team that people want to see. NE, Indy, or even Tenn can fit that description.

I think it's a little too early to tell. I mean we just had a 3 Pro-Bowlers represent our team today plus a border-line Pro-Bowler in Slaton, who generated a decent amount of attention this past year. Assuming we can make some buzz in free agency (doubtful) I don't see why we can't get a game next year. With one of the best offense this past season, I could see the networks giving us another shot this year.

Our players are getting more coverage, we were already showcased on MNF and did a great job.

I can see us getting another one but of course it can go either way.

would love to see us playing the Colts in primetime.

has it been decided if we are playing Seattle away yet? I'll most likely be living in Vancouver by then so I could make the trip down.

I'll be living in Vancouver as well, and I've checked, its a the Reliant next season. Damn NFL scheduling.

I know its not a home game but I think our best bet for national tv is the Arizona game. They will probably will get three primetime games next year, and I could see this matchup for mnf, two good offenses, aj vs. fitz.

I voted the Pats and/or the Colts.

The Texans are not a "hot" national team that is going to draw a nation-wide audience. We do however have a good offense which is good for ratings & are in one of the top 5 media markets in the US.

Soooo, I would put us as getting a game against a team that already has a lot of national appeal. Tom Brady and/or Peyton Manning would do the trick nicely. Both have a recent history of winning & they draw great ratings. Reliant is not a venue that many have seen on national TV and the Texas market is nothing to sneeze at.

I don't think it will be the Titans simply because that game will have only "regional" appeal and the Titans play in a small market.

I look for an inter-regional rivalry with a team that has a pretty good national fan base or appeal. Now that I think of it, the Jets could also be a possibility especially if Favre comes back.

Go Texans

True. We are 10 exactly. That is kid of puzzling. Houston is number four in population, but 10 in media market.

I guess the media market must include outlying metro areas.

FYI:

New York
LA
Chicago
Philly
Boston
San Francisco
Dallas
Washington DC
Atlanta
Houston

Those cities round out the top 10 media markets.

Pats are ALWAYS on primetime. Brady coming back and Cassel being Franchised spells made for tv drama.

An AWAY MNF game would make me cry :(

You have to look at metro areas man. City limit populations don't matter. When you go by metro areas, Houston falls to sixth (NYC, LA, Chicago, DFW, and Philly are ahead). Also, not as many singles live in Houston as the above cities, therefore, we have a smaller media market. We do have a much larger radio market though.
