Fire Casserly and the rest of those retards!!

TERRIBLE. WE DROPPED THE ******* Ball here

We got a 3rd rounder NEXT YEAR (we have had TERRIBLE PICKS in rounds 2-3) and lose out on DJ.

Pack your bags cASSerley, you will hopefully be run out of town on a rail.

We just passed on Michael Jordan and drafted Sam Bowie

We havn't any drafted anybody yet, and I quess the other 14 teams that passed on DJ are all out of their minds also?

omfgz we didn't get dj, now we're gonna suck, i'm gonan kick cASSerly's *** IRLZ. I R MAD!!!!

please explain to me how this trade is better. Please explain how TJ is better for us than DJ! Our GM is horrible

I dont see how you can trade down when you have a chance at DJ!!! He is going to be a probowler within a year or 2, and we get TJ...??? WTF

oh boy u guys got screwed. you could've took alex barron mark clayton roddy white khalif barnes david pollack dan cody instead u took tj lol. Man at least the Chargers got shawn merriman the best player in the draft!

lol @ the newbs who think they know more than our GM who has made solid picks in the first every year since our inception.

I could bat a 1.000 in the first round. A brain dead moron could. How have we done in the 2nd and down rounds. Answer......HORRIBLE!!!

Gaffney, yeah bench warmer
TE form Michigan, what grocery store does he work in now??

Please give me a name of a good pick after the 1st round that cASS has made.

Good news we will be picking way high next year so lets pick someone good in the first round cause we know after that we suck.

lol @ somebody banging his chest because he has a high post count on an internet message board.

Cass isnt the draft genius everyone makes him out to be. His track record is marginal considering he tanks on 2-3rd round picks with regularity.

Plus..the Carr pick hasnt been locked in stone as brilliant, and the DR pick was a no brainer at that point. Dre is the best pick thus far, and that was a pick 75% of the league would have made at that point in our situation.

what I hear is that there is a solid player named Davis that we got..
Faggins...

is it Joppru's fault that he is injured? hey maybe we should have moved up and grabbed C. Rogers instead of AJ so you could see him at a grocery store.

YEAH, becasue Carr sucks, AJ is a total bust, D-Rob is the worst cover corner EVER and Babin couldn't tackle a stuffed animal. Damn that stupid Casserly for no having a clue about how to evauluate talent in the first round.

And if DJ is such a lock for a Pro-Bowl why did Detroit, Dallas and San Diego also pass on him? Not to mention the Browns, and everybody else before the Cahrgers pick?

yeah.. Harrington is the better choice.

Easy. Off the top of my head there is Faggins, Glenn Earl, Henson, Baxter, and DD. There are a few more, and all those are 2nd Day picks. But of course you know more than a GM who has more than 20+ years of experience in evaluating players for an NFL team.

Try thinking about this pick before you spout off dumb lines like fire cass. DJ was not in the texans plan. Travis is. So get used to that. There is a reason the Texans didnt trade down again. Its because they want Travis bad enough to stick at 16.

gaffney lead out team with first down receptions this year (34), which is even more amazing since he caught them all on the bench...do your homework

actually the only problem round we have had is the second, and if you hold injuries against CC then i feel sorry for you...

some late round gems we have picked up include:
domanick davis
demarcus faggins
glenn earl
and i also believe antwan peek

just to name a few...anyone want to add to the education of pilottim then please feel free :thumbup

im not flaunting my post count :).. im making fun of yours. You think anyone is gonna take you seriously when you only show up on draft day to say "OMG EVRE1 SUX!"???

Johnson is a good pick. I dont know much about him but im hearing that he is talented. We need young Dlinemen to start grooming behind Walker and Payne.. and Johnson will get plenty of reps next year.

On top of that.. this means that Peek will most likely be our starting OLB opposite of Babin.. so we can expect alot of Blitzing :) And with Glenn, Robinson, and Buchanan in the secondary.. our defense is gonna be great.

AND btw.. while our 2nd and 3rd round picks have not be as amazing as our first round picks.. I dont think you can honestly say that he "tanks" 2nd and 3rd rounders.

Bennie Joppru should hopefully be starting this year. he isnt a bust until we cut him.

Antwan Peek will most likely be our starter this year and has looked great.

Chester Pitts has started every snap since 2002 and is one of our best Olinemen.

Jabar Gaffney is a great slot receiver, has the most yards per catch of any receiver on our team last year, and an AWESOME 3rd down ratio.

Dave Ragone is looking good in NFLE, and could be great depth at QB if we dont trade him for a profit.

No we havent gotten any probowlers in the 2nd or 3rd yet.. but we havent had alot of busts either.

And lets not forget Domanick Davis in the 4th and Faggins in the 6th :P

I take it that DD was a good late pick but the other guys, faggins, earl these are guys that are just there cause we have no one better. I just am so dismayed at drafting a one year wonder.

Looks like a bunch of disgruntled Longhorn postings to me....well, you can always switch allegiance and pull for the <name your fairweather fan team here>, it would be on par to how the Texas fans are when they aren't winning....amazing, I never see orange, or those stupid longhorn symbols on cars when they're losing....they can't get a razor fast enough to scrape those things off their vehicles LOL As for the rest of us true fans, we'll watch our team, and enjoy the product on the field without gripes, whines or complaints. It's no wonder the Oilers left town, if you guys are any indication of the typical Houston fan, I'd pack my bags and move. Wait, nevermind, I did...:)

Earl was better than Eric Brown :hmmm:

glen earl was still freshoff an acl tear in college. if he returns to form, he'll be a steal. he was a solid first round pick before the injury.

Earl is also better than me, but that ain't saying much.

Hear it here first we get a top 10 pick next year cause without help at LB we are gonna SUCK on D.

Only hope is to draft Lofa Tatupu with our next pick.

IMO our DL is the problem...noone really commanded a double team on the trenches so our LB's could roam free..

The worst part of your whinings is that you have more than likely never even been to a game. Sit and home and throw pillows at the TV. Get off your butts and support the team and you will see first hand who we need and why. We play a 3-4 defense, not a 4-3. That means we have only 3 down linemen on the defensive side of the ball.

If you do have season tickets, may I suggest you teach the Texans a lesson and sell them. There are thousands of people on the waiting list for them...

Like i said in a post earlier in differ thread. Paynes knee might be a question.

Why not get a guy who can be in the rotation. Maybe start if Payne falters or get injuryed.

Because we could get that in the 5th - 7th rounds. What if Payne's knees don't falter? You don't want to use a 1st on a bench warmer.

Actually Cass said before the draft that whichever player they took in the first would likely not be a starter for the Texans this year. So apparently CC doesn't mind a rookie warming the bench a little in his first year.

I was really high on Mark Clayton and I was glad he made it to the Texans pick. I guess I just figured that the Texans would have gotten him after the Chiefs passed him up. If they wanted to get Travis Johnson they should have at least tried to trade down and get a second rounder or another third rounder this year. I am really dissapointed with this pick.

By the way, will Travis even start for us?

3-4 linemen are never bench warmers.

You are constantly rotating your linemen in the 3-4. Johnson will see at least 1/3 of the reps next year.. and probably more than that.

my post was deleted despite having nothing inflamatory in it. guess i need "more posts" to be critical.

eh.. it did have some inflamatory stuff in it :).. and i was trying to quote it to start my response when it got deleted :). It would have turned into a flame war so the mods made the right choice.

Ive made my share of deleted posts over the course of my stay here too :P.. gotta keep it clean (unfortunatly :))

Ok, I have something to say. First off, someone's experience on this board doesn't determine their knowledge of the Texans. Also just because they watch games from tv and don't actually go, that doesn't mean they don't know our true needs. You see the same things on the tv you'd see if you were there. In fact, you get a clearer and less distracting view of everything on tv. And yes i am very upset at letting DJ pass but they are the gm's i'm sure they know what they are doing. I can't say i agree with the Travis Johnson pick, but i'm sure he will prove worthy. But at the end, the fans don't determine who gets picked and who isn't worthy. Just because Cass is 1.000 in the 1rst round, doesn't necessarily mean this one will be a success. Faggins is good, but don't think he could hold out as a starter. Glenn Earl isn't the best safety out there. Many of the 1rst round picks we did make were pretty much no-brainers as well. Give him credit for the Babin trade though, and for the Domanik Davis pick. But CC does have many mistakes, Jopru in 2nd, Gaff in 2nd, and a couple in Washington. Just because everyone is hating on this pick does not make them unloyal, in fact some texans players probably are not pleased with this pick. But let's not jump to conclusions until we've seen the results on the field.

No it doesnt.. but it does mean that we shouldnt be shouting "FIRE CASS" and saying he sucks because of this pick. its stupid.

Faggins is good, but don't think he could hold out as a starter.

the board here seems to be 50/50 on that.. he is a great nickle corner and I think he could be a starter for us eventually.

Glenn Earl isn't the best safety out there.

You saw him play for half of his rookie season.. id hardly say that is enough time to make a decision on him. he ISNT the best saftey out there.. you are right.. but he hasnt given any indication that he couldnt become one of the best safteys out there.. so I hardly think that is a valid arguement.

Many of the 1rst round picks we did make were pretty much no-brainers as well.

Just cause a pick seems like a no brainer.. doesnt mean it is. How many times have bad GMs passed on a no brainer to get "their guy" and have it blow up in their face? Making the "no brainer" pick is not as easy as it seems. And Robinson was not a no brainer pick IMO... he wasnt as well known as the other players in the top of the first. And Babin was way out of left field.

Give him credit for the Babin trade though, and for the Domanik Davis pick.

:thumbup

But CC does have many mistakes, Jopru in 2nd, Gaff in 2nd, and a couple in Washington.

As for the couple in Washington.. no GM is perfect.. Cass has a good record though. Joppru, obviously, hasnt turned out as planned.. but he isnt a bust yet either. Unforeseen injury issues is all.. he could still start for us this year. Gaffney is FAR from a bust... no he isnt a probowler.. but hes an awesome slot receiver.

Just because everyone is hating on this pick does not make them unloyal, in fact some texans players probably are not pleased with this pick. But let's not jump to conclusions until we've seen the results on the field.

I dunno that any Texans players would be displeased.. except maybe Walker or Payne. And hating on the pick doesnt make you unloyal.. but if you are a moron about it and hate on the pick and cass for no reason and say that this franchise isnt going anywhere and that we need to fire the coaching staff......yah..thats unloyal.

I agree.. we need to wait till we see the results on the field.
