3 Round Mock Draft...but wait, there's more!

D-ReK

RAWWWRR!
1. Coming off of the worst season in NFL history, Detroit just hired Jim Schwartz as the new captain of their failboat. He inherits a team that is terrible at every position other than WR1. The “golden rule” is that if you don’t have a franchise QB, you need to take one at this point, but I personally believe that to draft a QB and put him behind an offensive line that boasts such stalwarts as Jeff “QB on his” Backus, Edwin Mulitalo, Stephen Peterman, and Gosder Cherilus, who gave up 23.5 sacks combined, despite all but Backus missing games, and didn’t open up many holes for Kevin Smith. Taking a page out of the Browns’ and Dolphins’ playbooks, the Detroit Lions select Andre Smith, OT, Alabama.

2. A ton went wrong for the Rams this season, but at least they achieved balance in their ineptitude by finishing 31st in both scoring offense and scoring defense. . There are a number of ways that they could go with this pick. Marc Bulger and Orlando Pace are both aging and have no real option developing behind them. Their entire secondary is an absolute wreck. They are also weak at the OLB spots, and DT is looking like a big need as well since La’Roi Glover is old and Adam Carriker has been a disappointment. At the end of the day, the Rams would be best served taking the BPA at this spot. Therefore, the St. Louis Rams select Aaron Curry, LB, Wake Forest.

3. With Pioli now in the fold in KC, chances are he’ll try to deal this pick so that he can get more bang for his buck. The direction of this pick could definitely change before draft day since Herm Edwards may still be sent packing. With that being said, the KC pass rush this season was atrocious. They only recorded 10 sacks on the entire season. For comparison, 12 players had more sacks than the entire KC team. If they keep this pick, they will go with the best pass rusher available. The Kansas City Chiefs select Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas.

4. Three years after trading a first rounder for Deion Branch, it’s safe to say that Seattle made a terrible decision. They also more or less traded Steve Hutchison for Nate Burleson, which was another mistake. Despite having the league’s worst pass defense, their horrible WR play is too much to overlook. The Seattle Seahawks select Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech.

5. Cleveland had one of the worst offenses in the NFL this past season, but plenty of young talent is in place and they should improve drastically once they give Quinn the QB spot and Braylon Edwards learns to hold on to the ball. RB could be a need, but there is no value at this point. The pass rush was pitiful, so Everette Brown or Aaron Maybin may be options here, but they would be better suited to take a CB who isn’t afraid to step up and help against the run. The Cleveland Browns select Malcolm Jenkins, CB, Ohio State.

6. The 2008 season was a huge disappointment for the Bengals, who many thought had a legitimate shot at the playoffs. They ended up having the worst scoring offense in the NFL despite having players like Carson Palmer, Chad Johnson, and TJ Houshmandzadeh because their porous OL couldn’t open up running lanes and was unable to keep the QB clean. While RB may be a tempting choice here, they would be better off addressing the OL. The Cincinnati Bengals select Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia.

7. It’s no secret that the Raiders are a huge mess. The past two seasons, they have invested heavily in Jamarcus Russell and Darren McFadden, but they have insisted in putting scrubs like Kwame Harris, Cornell Green, and Cooper Carlisle in front of them. The smartest thing that Al Davis could do would be to take an OT here. Perhaps the failure that was the “can’t miss” Robert Gallery is too fresh for Al, but since there aren’t any super-fast WRs for him to pick here, the Oakland Raiders select Michael Oher, OT, Mississippi.

8. The Jags were horrible this year and it was freaking awesome. Their vaunted defense was underwhelming and they could use an upgrade at DT after trading Stroud, MLB after giving up on Peterson, and CB, where Brian Williams has always sucked and Drayton Florence was a free agent bust, however there may not be any value at any of those positions here. Maualuga may be an option due to Del Rio’s USC ties, but his stock is slipping due to his measureables. They would probably be best suited to upgrade their Ol, where Tony Pashos and Khalif Barnes are below average at best. The Jacksonville Jaguars select Jason Smith, OT, Baylor.

9. Injuries wrecked what could have been a good season in Green Bay. AJ Hawk switched to MLB to cover for Nick Barnett who was lost for the season, which hurt their run defense. Their offense was ranked 5th in scoring, their secondary is solid, and their LBs are above average when healthy. That leaves their DL, where DE Michael Montgomery is average and could stand to be replaced. With Mike Nolan in place as their DC, I expect Green Bay to run a hybrid defensive scheme that mixes up that 4-3 and 3-4. The perfect fit for this is still on the board. The Green Bay Packers select Everette Brown, DE/OLB, Florida State.

10. For the past couple of years, the 49ers have been a buzz team who some predict to take the “next step”, but poor QB play has hindered them. The Alex Smith experiment was a failure, however there are now pieces in place that would help a young QB succeed, namely Joe Staley, Frank Gore, and Vernon Davis. While pass rusher and FS are both needs, the impact a good QB can make on a team can not be understated. The San Francisco 49ers select Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia.

11. After starting out hot, the Bills ended up falling flat on their faces in the second half of the season. They are solid all around, but could use a TE or WR to complete their offense since they’ve shown faith in Trent Edwards, an every down DE, and an OLB since they were proven to be weak against the run. Taking a chance on a physical freak who may prove to be the BPA here, the Buffalo Bills select Michael Johnson, DE, Georgia Tech.

12. After surprisingly firing Mike Shanahan and hiring Josh McDaniels, it is highly likely that the Broncos switch to the 3-4, which will leave them with huge holes to fill. If Denver is wise, they will look at the Browns as a case study in what not to do when transitioning to a 3-4, and that’s take LBs before you have a solid DL. Marcus Thomas may make a decent DE in a 3-4, however they would still need another DE and a NT. However, with no viable options to fill these positions at this point, Denver looks to shore up a LB corps that will include DJ Williams, Elvis Dumervil, and Jarvis Moss. The Denver Broncos select Rey Maualuga, ILB, USC.

13. The Redskins are a pretty good team who happened to finish last in their division with an 8-8 record. Their main weakness was an inability to rush the passer due to poor DT play. It’s the same principle that we’ve seen here where the DE gets pressure, but the QB is able to step up into the pocket because the DTs are unable to collapse the pocket. What the Redskins need is a big DT who can play the run, but is also able to penetrate, and that’s why the Washington Redskins select BJ Raji, DT, Boston College.

14. The Saints are a decent team without any huge weaknesses. They could stand to add a RB, but probably not in the first as that would cause them to have a crazy amount of money tied up on the position. Their secondary is fairly average, but could be much better if they were able to replace Jason David, who has been pretty bad since arriving in NO, despite putting up good INT numbers. He would probably make a good NB. The New Orleans Saints select Vontae Davis, CB, Illinois.

15. Here it is. What we’ve all been waiting for. We all know the team’s needs, but there isn’t a viable option at FS, OC, or WLB. Beanie Wells is a thought, but we’re not looking for a starter, we’re looking for a guy who will be comfortable with 5-10 carries a game, and we can find that later on in the draft. Let’s take this opportunity to analyze the first round picks we’ve made since Kubiak has been the coach. Mario Williams was super athletic, streaky, and considered to be far from a finished product. Amobi Okoye was the youngest player eligible for the NFL draft in history, was able to collapse the pocket, and was far from a finished product. Duane Brown was a TE who was moved to RT for a season, then played LT for his senior season. He had good measurables, loads of potential, and was far from a finished product. This trend has continued for three years, and is most likely going to continue, similar to the Titans’ and Cowboys’ streaks of going one-and-done in the playoffs. The Houston Texans select Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn State and his 15.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 PBU from this past season. He is undersized at the moment, but has the frame to get bigger without losing any speed. He will likely be a situational pass rusher his first season in the league, but he has the potential to be a very, very good DE.

16. San Diego had one of the worst passing defenses this past season despite having Antonio Cromartie (who played through a fractured hip) and Quentin Jammer on the outside. All signs point to bad safety play. Clinton Hart is an average player, and Eric Weddle has potential. This defense would be much better after replacing Hart. The San Diego Chargers select William Moore, S, Missouri.

17. The Jets would likely have been a much better team if they didn’t have Brett Favre throwing 2 INTs per game down the stretch, and would be wise to stay away from the drama that he will undoubtedly cause this offseason and just name Kellen Clemens the starter. He has a great OL in front of him, good RBs, and some pretty good TEs. However, WR needs to be addressed as Laveranues Coles is on the wrong side of 30, and the depth behind Jerricho Cotchery is sketchy. The New York Jets select Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri.

18. The Bears have decided that the QB job is Kyle Orton’s to lose. Now they’d be wise to give him some weapons because, while Hester may be a decent deep threat, Rashied Davis, Brandon Lloyd, and Marty Booker don’t get the job done. The Chicago Bears select Hakeem Nicks, WR, UNC.

19. Under Gruden, the Buccaneers have been one of the better teams in the NFL in terms of pure talent, which allows them to focus on one need and then draft mainly BPA. This season, their main weakness was a lack of penetration coming from the DT position, where Jovan Haye and Chris Hovan are the starters. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Peria Jerry, DT, Mississippi.

20. The Lions are lucky to be back on the clock later in the first round after selecting Andre Smith 1st overall with a few other offensive weapons on the board. Without much hesitation, the Detroit Lions select Mark Sanchez, QB, USC.

21. The Cardinals have been a pleasant surprise this season after being picked to make the playoffs the past couple of years. While they have one of the more potent pass offenses in the NFL, their rush offense is ranked dead last in YPG. Edgerrin James is a free agent and will likely be let go. The team needs someone to split carries with Tim Hightower, and JJ Arrington does not appear to be that guy. The Arizona Cardinals select Chris “Beanie” Wells, RB, Ohio State.

22. The Vikings are likely a good QB away from going deep into the postseason, so expect them to take a stab at a guy like Jeff Garcia. That being said, the right side of their OL needs a boost since Ryan Cook has been a bit of a disappointment and Anthony Herrera has been pretty average. The Minnesota Vikings select Eben Britton, OT, Arizona.

23. The Patriots are a team that gets a lot out of a little in their secondary due to great play by their front 7. I fully expect them to continue trying to revamp their LB corps, which still features a few guys who were born in the Paleolithic Era. The New England Patriots select Clint Sintim, LB, Virginia.

24. The Falcons are a fairly balanced team that has a fair amount of talent all over the field. A few weak spots are RT, DT, and DB, but there really aren’t any value picks at this point in these positions. The best thing that Atlanta could do would be to give Matt Ryan another weapon and fill the void left by Alge Crumpler. The Atlanta Falcons select Brandon Pettigrew, TE, Oklahoma State.

25. Parcells is an old school run the ball and stop the run kind of guy, as evidenced by picking Jake Long last year despite more pressing needs. Continuing on that trend, the Miami Dolphins select Duke Robinson, OG, Oklahoma. Even Chad Pennington could average 4 YPC behind the left side of this line.

26. Ray Lewis, Bart Scott, and Terrell Suggs are all due to become FAs after the season, but I’m betting they all re-sign with Baltimore. With the defense more or less in place, Baltimore should look to upgrade their passing attack, which is in the bottom third of the NFL. Derrick Mason and Mark Clayton are both solid, but they need some depth behind them and someone that can take over for the 34 year old Mason. The Baltimore Ravens select Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, Maryland.

27. The Colts are a team that has very few weaknesses despite losing Marlin Jackson to IR, Quinn Pitcock to retirement, and Ed Johnson due to his own stupidity. DT is a glaring need, but Indianapolis isn’t the type of team that will reach on a player. The Indianapolis Colts select Alphonso Smith, CB, Wake Forest.

28. After wisely trading out of the first round with Carolina last year, Philadelphia has two picks in the late first round to play around with. While they have one of the top defenses in the NFL, they could be even better if they had a true MLB, which would allow Stewart Bradley to move out to his natural position of SLB. The Philadelphia Eagles select James Laurinaitis, LB, Ohio State.

29. After losing Plaxico Burress for the season after he shot himself, it became painfully obvious that the Giants need a clear cut WR1. Amani Toomer and Domenik Hixon aren’t that guy. Steve Smith and Mario Manningham probably aren’t either. The Giants need a guy with some size that can get separation. The New York Giants select Kenny Britt, WR, Rutgers.

30. After going one-and-done yet again, the Titans have to be wondering what went wrong. They don’t have any big play threats at WR, and luckily for them, there is one available. The Tennessee Titans select Percy Harvin, WR, Florida. So what if he’s the size of Laveranues Coles, injury prone, and has no true position in the NFL, he’s an exciting player!

31. It would be nit-picking to say that the Eagles’ run-blocking has been a step below average, especially with the durability issues of their RBs. However, Jon Runyan has began to show signs of aging and Shawn Andrews would likely perform better at RT than at RG, though he has been good there. The Philadelphia Eagles select Max Unger, OG/OC, Oregon.

32. The Steelers have few weaknesses, and could go a few ways with this pick. Marvel Smith suffered a career threatening injury, leaving Max Starks to play LT and Willie Colon to move to RT from RG. If a good LT was available here, they’d pounce on him to stabilize their OL. However, that’s not the case. They shift the focus to their DL where Brad Keisel has been average and needs to be upgraded. The Pittsburgh Steelers select Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU.

33. Detroit Lions – Brian Cushing, LB, USC

I don't know much about a lot of guys at this point, but Maybin sounds like a reach and a bit of a gamble. I think I'd rather have Pettigrew or Robinson at this point...

All of our first rounders under Kubiak have sounded like reaches and were a bit of a gamble. Mario has paid off. The jury is still out on Amobi and Brown. The fact is that Maybin has the potential to be what we need.

I'm not sure why you'd rather draft a TE or an OG who probably wouldn't fit very well in a zone scheme in the first. We do run quite a few dual TE sets, but I don't think it's enough to warrant a 1st round pick, especially when there are plenty of developmental guys later.

nice read!

btw, chris gamble signed a lucrative extension with the panthers.
Thanks for pointing that out. He was listed as being a FA on KFFL. I edited it to be Jabari Greer, who appears to be the best in a small crop of CBs. We may end up having to hold on to Petey for depth...

Very nice avatar D-ReK. Makes your posts even better! :)

Great job. I like what you've done here. With that said, I would hate to see us miss out on Andy Levitre in the 2nd, and if we missed Andy, we should have considered Luigis in the third. Its no secret that our interior line needs some help. But other than my personal choices great job!

Also the Titan's drafting Percy Harvin would be a nightmare IMO. I think he is underrated and will take the NFL by storm next year with the right team.

I agree with you that we need to, at the very least, address depth on the interior of the OL. That being said, I'd list our needs as a team as: DE, DT, FS, RB, interior OL, CB. Also, I'm a bit skeptical that Kubiak would pull the plug on Myers after only one season. We all saw him getting constantly pushed back, but maybe Kubiak thinks that he can be more stout at the point of attack after gaining a year of playing experience and spending time with our new, improved (?) S&C team.

That being said, if we happen to pursue and land Brown, a guy who LZ thinks should at least be looked at, either Brisiel or Myers could become that depth I was speaking of earlier and it would no longer be a draftable position. A guy can dream...

Regarding Harvin, I do think he's a bit too frail and he doesn't really have a true position. He'll likely end up being what Reggie Bush should be: a slot WR who handles PR and KR duties. He could thrive in that role, if he can stay healthy.

Very impressive and like that you took it three rounds and Texans thru 7. I am leery on Maybin but does not mean Smithiak would be as you so state. I am hoping Raji falls as I see stopping the run more important than a DE in 1st round. I have Robert Ayers DE 6'3" 270 4.73 in 4th. If Raji avail @#15 would you still select Maybin? Also, what do you think about a trade down with Atlanta? On your mock, no one seems interested in a DE before #24 and Falcons could use William Moore. We could get Maybin @ 24 and get at least a 3rd? Greer appears to have skills and speed as a FA CB but will prob want a hefty contract. We do have the $ but is he the guy? IMO if Molden is not ready to play a significant role, he should be cut but prob will not be as he cost a 3rd. Good @ STeams but not why signed.

Great pick at 2nd round in Green. Yeah we might hit gold twice in 4th round but why take chance? Green could be a every down main guy but has temperment to be #2 & would make Slaton even more better ( I just like saying that). We do not want to get caught up in Slaton's stats as we did with former 4th rounder DDW. I want Super SLick around for at least 5 more years and Green can help him get there. Green reminds me of last year's Matt Forte and he did okay as #2 back.

Delmas in 3rd takes care of another weakness, great size and enough speed. Not Mayes but who was? If first three rounds go as you want, I b OK. May have to wait on Maybin but could be worth the wait.

My picks:

1. Raji. I think Washington could just as easily trade down and get OT William Beatty or Phil Loadholt. This could get them at least another 3rd and 6th based upon our D. Brown trade. Chris Samuel is 31 and youngest olineman, I believe. Skins QB must be better protected. Also, the defense gave up less than 90 yards on ground.

2. Green enough said.
3. I like Delmas but had Rashad Johnson FS 6' 190 4.49
4. Robert Ayers DE all SEC 1st team; 3 sacks 15 tfl
5. Ian Johnson Rb I'll watch closely in Shrine game. Huge year 2 seasons ago & good this year. Many think he will not be drafted. Big mistake imo.

Honestly, I painted myself into a corner with the Texans pick and had absolutely no idea who I was going to select at 15. I thought I was being bold by predicting us gambling on a guy who has a chance to be great, but then I find that Lance Zierlein posted this same prediction a couple of hours before me. Regardless, I feel Maybin's potential is high enough that he is worthy of this pick, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him go before we pick to one of the 3-4 teams that needs a boost with their pass rush. I could see him going as high as Cleveland.

To answer your questions, I agree with you that stopping the run is more important than going DE, and if Raji were available at 15, he'd be the pick in my mind over just about anyone. While Raji has great size to be a NT, his skill set is such that he can command double teams and still penetrate and collapse the pocket. I really think he's the best of both worlds and would do well "shooting the gaps" in Bush's defense. Raji would instantly make Okoye and Mario better. He would be a phenomenal pick.

Ayers would be a great pickup in the 4th if we're unable to address DE before then. It's always nice to see accolades such as All-SEC when you choose a player, however we've shown a tendency to take small school guys like Molden and Jacoby, and I was trying to work that in. Truthfully, I'm not sure if Domonique Johnson fits our personality type. He started out at Mizzou but ended up transferring because he couldn't take the coach questioning his determination. Just seems odd to me.

I feel as if our FO would try to get out of that pick if the chips fell that way. Atlanta is an interesting possibility. It's also possible that Minnesota would try to trade up so they could get Sanchez. If we were to trade down to 24, I'd have to think that Alphonso Smith becomes the pick from a sheer BPA perspective, assuming we don't make a huge splash at CB in the FA market. If we were to sign someone similar to Greer, who I'm hoping is still under the radar enough that he wouldn't command a huge pay day, I'd think that Brian Cushing would be our pick at 24. Maybin would go to either the Chargers, Jets, or Patriots in this scenario.

You're spot on regarding the Redskins. RT is their biggest need, but there wasn't anyone available who I felt was a fit. Also, never underestimate the price that Dan Snyder is willing to pay for prime free agents. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them land Jordan Gross and then trade this pick for another player. That being said, I actually like your picks better than mine. I like Ian Johnson more than most, but I'm not sure about drafting two RBs. Then again, the Broncos went that 7 or 8 RBs this year, so you can never have enough. Thanks for the input!

All of our first rounders under Kubiak have sounded like reaches and were a bit of a gamble. Mario has paid off. The jury is still out on Amobi and Brown. The fact is that Maybin has the potential to be what we need.
Good point.

I'm not so sure I would go with those two, I just think you over-value needs. You take the 5th best D-Lineman instead of the 1st pick of Safety OR running back when you could just as easily taken the top flight safety, got Brace at DT in the 2nd, maybe Davis RB in the 3rd?

Opinions though, I love the F/A, releases and sheer effort of the post...

I get what you're saying about possibly overvaluing needs, but I do believe that Maybin is a better player than both Wells and Moore. Furthermore, I believe Maybin is better than Michael Johnson, which would make him the 4th best DL, but Johnson could get picked higher because he has the body of an every down DE at this point in time. Also, our FO has shown a tendency to reach for needs as well, so the pick kinda keeps the theme alive.

That being said, I wouldn't complain about getting Moore, Brace, and Davis, though he may not be able to get us the tough yards that we need. If we took Moore in the first, I'd probably keep Greene in the second, then go after Luigs in the third, or maybe Casey because I simply love the guy as a player. Either that or keep Brace and go after a guy like Gartrell Johnson later in the draft to keep the Colorado State pipeline alive.

Doesn't matter if he's the #1 DE or the 9th best DE. If he's valued higher than the #1 DT, #1 S, #1 LB, etc. you take him. Individual positional rankings don't mean much when you're making a pick from a large pool of players/positions.

Thanks for compliments. My thinking on two half backs is Slaton was signed as a third down back who has surpassed the goal, so does that necessarily mean we should run him into the ground? As we all know RB takes probably more pounding than anyone especially one that is not afraid to go up the middle. Then we add on his catches where he again gets hammered. This system is perfect for Slaton and should also be perfect for a similar back like Johnson. I am not talking about a 50- 50 split with Slaton and Green or Johnson. Heck, Green has excellent speed and I'd be ok with those two handling the load. Yet, if we can resolve the DE, DT, power back and FS spots and we can with Raji, Green, Delmas or Johnson and Ayers we can then splurge on a Slaton clone. We are always one sprained ankle or knee, etc from Slaton missing games. Plug in Johnson and Rock and Roll continues. Is a 2nd half back a luxury? Not if your garage is full of everything else you need.

Some are going to mention CBs needing improvement. I agree but do not see a draft pick higher than 4th round going for a CB as I think Kubes is satisfied with what we have. I am hopeful that a starter opposite Dunta (if he signs) can be found in FA and for me, I'd get the check book out to get a Asomugha type. I also think Bush is going to bring a different style of attacking/coverage that will make our guys be even better. Reeves with his speed may get a few sacks.

Just imagine a fresh Slaton, Green or Ian Johnson available for every play for 4 quarters! The defense would be worn out and probably start to bring up to fill the box. Guess who would be waiting in the end zone? ANDRE JOHNSON!

Now if I can just resolve the turn over problem?

Reading your post, a vision came to me. I have no idea why I haven't thought of this before. As we all know, Slaton is a pretty good receiver out of the backfield, and he even caught a long TD pass this season. How awesome would it be to have Shonn Greene in the backfield and Slaton split out wide? Defenses would have absolutely no idea what to do. There's no doubt in my mind that with a healthy QB and an upgrade at RB2 that we can be in the top 5 in all offensive categories. As for Johnson, it is a luxury pick, but let's take a quick look at our RBs that are currently on the roster. Slaton is great, has surpassed everyone's predictions, and there's no end in sight if we can keep from DDW-ing him. Ahman Green is a mummy (always wrapped in tape) and will be cut. Chris Brown is made of glass and should be cut, but I'm not totally sure what the cap implications would be. Ryan Moats actually played well, and I like him, but I wouldn't be bummed if we went in another direction since he's small and hasn't really shown the ability to get the tough yards. Ian or Gartrell Johnson would both be great pickups in the later rounds and could step up if Slaton were to miss a game or two.

What does everyone think about QB? Is it a draftable position this year or are we going to try to stick Alex Brink on the PS again? Rosenfels showed this season why he has been a backup everywhere he's ever been. If Schaub goes down during a game, he's good to step in and finish it, but he blows as a starter. I think we should try to trade him for whatever we can, though that ship may have sailed and Kubiak may feel confident that we should keep him when (if?) Schaub gets hurt. If Rosenfels is gone, do we rely on Brink?

Speaking of Schaub, nobody will ever know how enraged it has made me the past two seasons when he has missed time due to cheap shots. First Florence and Haynesworth cleaned his clock on a dirty plays in 2007, then Jared Allen repeatedly went after his knees this season and ended up tearing his MCL. We need a nasty, angry mofo on this team that won't take that crap and that will exact some calculated revenge on the other team in the event that something like this happens in the future. I get that we're nice guys and we don't break the law and all that, but that doesn't mean we have to be pansies! :)

What about Johnson going around end on a fake, Shonn Green up the middle and Slaton as WR opposite AJ? The options are endless. QB will not be addressed and I predict Shaub will get his bonus next season and Sage will continue with a new contract.

I am gone for weekend. Dream on Texan fans!

Ok, that choking sound is me swallowing crow after watching Ian Johnson be ineffective in East-West game. He did have one reception for 8(I think) but did not look good running. I still like my premise of have a HB similar to Slaton, but if we sign Shonn Green or Gartrell Johnson (now he looked good) as a power back I am A-okay. Either can take it for a long gain or power over in red zone.

I think if we're going for two RBs in this draft, we can grab Gartrell Johnson in either the 4th or 5th depending on his combine, then go after Devin Moore from Wyoming later. He looks to be a Slaton carbon copy.

If Gartrell combines like he played in SHriner game he prob will not last past 3rd. One of the radio guys (I flip around between 3 stations) said Gartrell was pulled so teams could see how "I can't believe it's not butter" (my name for him) could not take ball in from within 5 yards.
