Pennington Comeback Player of the Year...Again

Hall of Fame
he's won it twice now, once in 2006 and again in 2008. an interesting achievement to say the least. hope this doesn't point to a rocky '09 season.

Ronnie Brown was a Pro Bowl Selection, this year, incredibly. He should have been comeback player of the year. Pennington is getting it because of Mangini's incompetence last year.

Never been a big Pennington fan but the guy was totally lost in the Brett Favre drama and solidified the offense. My question Kast is about the future of Beck and any clue how Henne has looked in practice? How long term a solution will Chad be?

Beck is gone, and from all counts Henne has looked pretty awesome and no doubt would be starting if Pennington wasn't nearly as good as he has been. he's played in one drive this year in mopup duty, looked solid there, but that's about it. the talk is that Pennington will stick around till he's done and then Henne slides in. kinda like Pennington's own career start in New York

I've always been a Pennington fan. I think he's one of the smartest QBs ever, as far as football IQ goes. If you could somehow transplant his head onto some of these QB athletes that are en vogue, you'd have the best QB ever.

I dont know how anyone can be a Pennington fanafter today. He has shown that he cannot perform well in the playoffs.

completely unable to run the ball and best two receivers are hurt...not easy to overcome against a decent defense, let alone a great one

Understandable, but he still throughout his playoff career he will implode like he did today and against the Raiders in 2002.

That is why the Jets decided to go with Favre. IMHO they feel that Pennington cannot string together playoff wins. And I agree.

makes sense, compare one game from 6 seasona ago against the conference champs to one game this year against one of the best defenses in the league with zero help around him. makes perfect sense.

do you really wanna be one of those people who looks only to the quarterback when placing blame

I'm a little lost. Just where did Pennington go? Where did he come back FROM? I thought you had to be lost to injury or be out a year or something like that to "come back".

what did pennington come back from? a bad year? antonio bryant wasnt even in football last year and was amazing this year.

Ah yeah, almost forgot about him. He definitely should be high on the list. The one-handed catch he made in the endzone was incredible!

Andre Johnson should have been comeback player of the year

Word. Missed half the season with an knee injury, and then comes back to be the best WR in the NFL. Amazing.

Yeah, that worked out for the Jets. Favre is a *****.
