Mark Bruener to Retire

HOU-TEX

Ah, Football!
He's a class act. Awesome guy and I have no doubt he'll succeed in what ever he decides to do from here on out.

Good luck Mark. Thanks for your efforts and the mentorship you provided for our team.

Tight end Mark Bruener lingered on the field with his family and played football with his kids a little longer than he typically does. They posed for pictures near the end zone after what was Bruener’s final game as a Texan.

Bruener, who only played in two games this season, was activated for the season finale and was named the team’s honorary captain. He has spent the last five years of his 14-year NFL career with the Texans.

“I have been enjoying every day as much as I can,” said Bruener, whose sons attended practice with him Friday.

Good luck to him and I wish him all the best. Are we still set at the TE spot if something happen to OD or Joel D.?

I can't say this is unexpected. He was a class guy and a good example to the younguns in the locker room.

And, yeah, we'll probably need to pick up a 3rd TE in the draft or from F/A.

I wouldn't be surprised if Zgonina doesn't follow suit this off-season.

Class act indeed.

We should hire him as a TE-block trainer, or mascot... or something, I dont want to lose him :)

I imagine we'll have a looksee at a few UDFA or cheap UFA TE's. I can't really see us using a draft pick on one. Our new deep snapper is a TE too, so who knows?

No draft picks on a TE though.

Nah, I wouldn't think so. Unless a beast of a TE fell to us on the 2nd day, of course.

Can anyone remember the TE Krause (sp?) from training camp? I thought he did pretty good and was actually a bit surprised we cut him. Does anyone know where he ended up, if anywhere?

I wish him the best in his future endeavors. He was one heck of a blocking TE, and a great mentor for the younger guys.

Goodluck to Mark Breuner. I was hoping he would come back because we need a big blocking tight end.
