buchanon on SW Sports Report Tonight after stros game

ya i saw it 2, showed him running with the ball and said "the newest texan" so its him. I dont know if hes going to be actually on it, it might just show the press conference.

i was wrong, it was an interview, and i was kinda impressed by the way Buchanon sounded. Of course guys are or can be completely different on the field, but this guy definetly sounds like he was just looking for a change of scenery and a good environment, and that he has found that here. I love it when he said he told Hoke, "If you cant beat em', you might as well join em'".

*Edit* Buch had a ear to ear smile throughout the whole interview, which was also kinda ammusing to see.

I would say from what I heard from the young man, he's not the Oakland type. Sounds like he might fit in well here, though. Probably a personality conflict at Oakland. You need to be a Renegade to fit in there.

Oh I don't know about that. Tim Brown..I don't picture him as much of a renegade and he's been there for years. Jerry Rice was there. Gannon.

Most teams have an assortment of characters if you will...some guys are a headline waiting to happen and I imagine some are real boring, normal guys.

I'd be more worried about Raider Nation fans than anything they put on the field. Some of their getups are downright scary.

I agree. He looked very happy to be here with his boy Andre and I like that.

I kind of agree with your point, but kind of funny that of your examples, during the time period we are talking about, 2 have left the team and the 3rd has been demoted. The last two years the Raiders have been a mess.

Only thing that scares me a little about Buchanon is he sounds like he'll sell out coverage to go for the big INT. I'd like for him to refine his play now that he's in Houston and learn to make the smart plays, and become more willing to lay the wood.

Well I guess that where coaching comes in. Hopefully we have the right guys teaching him, and from what others have said about Hoke I'd say we do. This could turn out well for us!

The guy has the physical skills. The coaches just need to retrain him to be more selective in taking chances.

he do have to guys to coach him. glenn is one of the smarter defenders and knows when to take the chance on the int and when not to, hopefully he can teach that to phillip. he has all the talent, now just needs some coaching, not exactly from the coaches, i think he will benefit from glenn a lot more. i'm sure woodson wasn't really around to teach him the ropes and you can only learn so much from your coaches.

I think we should hire Glenn as a coach after he retires or at least propose it before anyone else does

On some occasions I hate the fact that I dont watch tv that much, such as this. But from the interview, he sounds like the man to be
