Would the word hypocrite fit Titans, now?

I just got through reading a few threads on a couple Titans sites and man are they a little irretated over the loss of Andre Dyson. Most are taking it in stride and are calling for the team to use it's 1st round pick on a CB. That last part kinda struck me as funny. All those creepy crawly Titan fans that have been on this board and on TEXANSTALK bashing us over the P Buch trade. Now I liked Dyson he had 16 INT's over four years. That doesn't sound much differant than 11 INT's over 3 years, which is what P Buch had. One poster even said "I wonder if we can borrow one of the Texans CB". I had to laugh. So now we have an established CB for 1.5 mil over two years and they have that 1st round draft pick. Whose laughing now. Ya bunch of hypocrites.

The big difference between the two is that Buchanon has had much chronicled attitude problems, but will cost substantially less...I'll choose the one with the lower cap number and assume all he needs is a change of scenery...He seems happy to be here...

I wouldnt read too much into his attitude problem. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just towards the raiders organization. You hear of this often with players getting bad reps because they displayed their disgust towards a team but after the year the raiders had last year and having the owner they do i wouldn't be surprised if he is just anti-raider. Im sure the texans will have a close eye on him in that stand point but i dont expect any problems.

The Raiders have been a joke since they got blown away by Tampa Bay in the Super Bowl. They began to unravel right there and it's been all downhill ever since. Their moves have made almost no sense and I can hardly blame Buchanon for wanting out of that mess.

I think calling us hypocrites is a little strong. We didn't just lose Dyson, we lost one of the top few corners in the league, Samari Rolle, and our planned replacement(Woolfolk) has been injured so much we can't know how he'll perform. I also don't think people were questioning the aquisition as much as they were questioning what you paid to get him. There's no question he will help you. Personally I hope we trade down, I'm not overly impressed with Rolle or Pac Man. Give me Carlos Rogers a few slots lower and an additional pick or two and I'll be happy.

Ultimately we paid a second round pick to get Phil. There isn't a single corner in this draft that will be available in the second round that is as good as Buchanon. So when you think about it like that it doesnt seem we paid that much for him at all. Our DB's coach and Head coach will fix his attitude and he will turn alot of heads next season.

im still not sold on his attitude being changed...hes come in here pretty confident saying he thinks andre is "kinda" fast. i like a confident player but not a cocky one. i feel he thinks hes gonna come in here and own the team which is not gonna happen. to many other leaders on the defense IMO

I dont think he will have a bad attitude if the coaches are familiar faces. Likewise Hoak should know exactly how to utilize buchanon's talents.

yea true and i saw hoke on hey rookie last night when they were talkin bout robinson hes a pretty intimdating guy, def. someone not to argue with, i just hope this trade works out and everything plays over well.

 "to many other leaders on the defense IMO"

...and Sharper complained we have no leaders!! Oh,aahh, and those D
leaders are......?

I prefer to look at PB as our second round pick. It cost us a third to do this and as Cass says theres only a 30% chance of third round picks making your team. If he is a good as advertised coming out of U of Miami then this will rank up there as a real steal on the Texans part. Time will tell.

From what I heard at Buchanon's conference audio, he doesn't sound like he's walking in feeling like he own's the place. He was very respectful in his comments towards Glenn. I don't think we'd hear much complaint out of him if he played nickel for a year or two before taking a shot at the #2. I mean, if we're in 5 DB sets 44% of the time he'll still see plenty of the field. And Glenn has missed a few games due to injury in his tenure with the Texans, Philip will probably get a start or two this season regardless of where he begins on the depth chart.
