ESPN MOCK DRAFT LIVE

Len Pasquarelli, ESPN.com senior NFL writer: Well, it's a little awkward for me having to answer a question about a pick that my partner, John Clayton, made. But he's got some other responsibilities right now, so I guess I'll try. Uh, on second thought, no, I won't. I don't know why The Professor put Rodgers in the second slot. Maybe, as is usually the case, he knows something I don't. Look, everyone knows the Dolphins desperately want out of this pick but, if they're forced to make a choice, well, they'll have to make it. I would have taken Ronnie Brown or Braylon Edwards. But, hey, that's why it's called a "mock(ery)" draft. Anyone who takes it too seriously is crazy.

Ok, John Clayton and Len Pasquerelli are doing this live mock draft on ESPN and they just said that Ronnie Brown would be the Texans selection.

I just can't see that guy falling all the way down to #13. I am a proponent on the best mix of team need and best player, but what do you guys think of taking Ronnie Brown if available.

Don't we need more QB pressure?

We do, but to me Ronnie Brown is a can't miss and we need re-assurrance just in case D. Davis doesn't resign with us.

Not if Ronnie Brown falls to the 13th spot, which he won't, but still I'd be estatic if he did.

I don't think he will be either... but damn it would suck to watch QB's sit in the pocket all day next year.

You could see our DB's heads start to turn around like an owl with as much time as they had to remain in coverage on receivers.

That draft is the biggest bunch of Country Crock I have ever seen. Obviously they don't have a clue of any teams' needs. Not even the Dolphins.

If Peek can turn it around, he'll be a beast of the edge; plus Babin should be a better rusher next year.

And on the flip side it sure wouldn't suck to see the Texans dominate the time of possesion while pounding the ball; then crack a few big ones to AJ as the oppsing D brings one to many guys into the box.

All you need is pass blocking, which we have to depend on increased synergy and scheming from last year in order to have AJ run rampant.

I like many of the moves made this year, but want to see an impact D player in OLB or Impact OL move.

Is anyone paying attention to the live mock on ESPN.com? Clayton and pasquarelli are squaring off and selecting all of the picks and answering questions....who did the texans get? none other than ronnie brown at the 13th spot. might not be a need, but it sure couldn't hurt to get who some consider to be the best RB in the draft at that spot. There were some surprises early that made him drop down that far, including chicago taking benson.

This is Clayton's quote from that link:

John Clayton, ESPN.com senior NFL writer: This is the third team looking to add pass rush to their 3-4, but offense will be there. While wide receiver Troy Williamson would be the natural choice, the Texans can't pass on halfback Ronnie Brown, who is a steal at this point. They have been thinking about signing veteran Anthony Thomas. By being patient, they may have landed the best back in the draft

We've been trying to get Anthony Thomas? If Ronnie Brown is there at 13, you have to take him, he's clearly the BPA at that point...

Ronnie Brown is the one guy I wouldn't mind giving up multiple picks for much less drafting at 13. I doubt he's at Ladainian talent but he's gonna be an all-pro sometime soon I don't see how you could pass on him, especially twelve times. :hmmm:

ronnie brown is good and his body has taken less pounding than almost any other RB in the draft. I doubt he falls this far and if you actually look at the draft it is pretty questinable. Look for Miami to get a RB and then with the 3 or 4th pick next year get a stud QB. I mean Miami has alot of problems. Hell they may even take Ragone from us in a trade maybe. I bet he will be better than Feely.

ronnie brown has Superstar written all over him, homerun speed, size, and not alot of milage, he is like a brand new porsche SUV.

Ronnie Brown still there at 13 ..... would take me about .000001 seconds to make my selection . :woot

I am sure if he falls Seattle would offer us alot of picks to get him. i know they have #23, they might offer the pick that they get for Alexander (prob #2) then their original #2 or a #3. I have to believe that Seattle would almost offer too much to move up for him

No matter what that mock says.. the chance of Brown dropping to us is so negligable, its hardly worth discussing.

Trust me.. if he falls to the 9th-12th pick.. SOMEONE is gonna offer a nice trade up to get him, if the team there doesnt just take him themselves.

I want to hear more about the fact we are trying to pick up A Train. I havent heard that at all and I dont think the ESPN guys would mention it if it had no credibility. Has anyone else heard this?

Why the heck would we want the A-Train? He was worse than DD when his line was bad in Chicago why pick him up and put him behind another potentially bad OL? hes great if you give him a hole but I like DD's cutback ability more than i like the A trains Straight ahead style.

If Ronnie Brown falls to 13 some scouting personnel heads will roll from the other 12 teams. besides i think minnesota will take miamis spot, they are just making the fins wait and lower their price before they deal.
