I agree with the second list more than the first. Wes Welker has no place in any top ten list, IMO, though I like the guy.

1. AJ - we all agree on that.

2. Boldin - this guy is way underrated, despite being considered a top ten WR. He's physical, he's tough, and he has performed well no matter who was at QB for the Cardinals. He was the fastest in history to 300 rec., and that was with QBs like McCown and Blake.

3. Jabar Gaffney - OK, now that you've spit coffee on your screen, I meant to say Randy Moss :). I hesitate to put him this high, because he's only this good when he wants to be. But there isn't a more physically gifted WR in the NFL, I don't think.

4. Steve Smith - he's the energizer bunny. He just keeps going, no matter how undersized or outmatched he is. He plays like he's the size of AJ.

5. Larry Fitzgerald - benefits from having Boldin across from him, but that doesn't take away from him. He has some of the best hands of any WR, IMO.

6. Brandon Marshall - he and Cutler will be a force to reckon with for years, I think.

7. Hines Ward - people always talk about his blocking, and it's true, but his team-oriented style of play is where that comes from. He'll catch the ball, he'll serve as a decoy, he'll block for that badass running game they usually have, and he almost always keeps his trap shut. He's the anti-TO. He could put up a lot better stats than he does if he played on a passing team.

8. Torry Holt - Big Game Holt, for a reason. The guy runs awesome routes, has great hands, can perform at every level of the passing game, and has done it for years. He's an all-around great.

9. TO - I hate putting him here, because he has to be one of the worst teammates in the history of football, in terms of dividing a locker room. Nonetheless, his touchdown totals over his career speak volumes. Of all the stats that determine winning and losing, TDs fall just behind turnovers, and TO is better than just about anyone at scoring. His hands leave a lot to be desired, but he uses his size well.

10. Pick one between Reggie Wayne, Lav. Coles, Santana Moss, or Donald Driver. There are probably a few more I could lump in there as well.

One guy I didn't mention that I really wanted to was TJ Houshmandzadeh. I don't think he quite makes my top ten, but he is a very good all-around WR. If this were a top 15, I think I'd have to find a way to slide him in there.

Haven't seen much of Marshall or White.
Really? Go look at their stats then gary. These guys are legit. Not saying Kevin Walter is bad, but if you had a choice between Roddy White/Brandon Marshall or Kevin Walter, who would you pick?

10 I would put Reggie Wayne there. He lead the league in Receiving yards last season I think and carried the receiving corps when Harrison went down. Good teammate, good hands, has deceptive speed and runs solid routes.

Greg Gennings is another one that I'd take over Wes Welker man I did not do a good job of remembering S. Moss sliped my mind as well.

They probably do have better stats I haven't looked but I was just trying to show some love for my Texans.

You left off Torry Holt, as did everyone else. That is a travesty, IMO :)
He is a HOF no doubt but because I do not get watch him play every Sunday I haven't heard his name a whole lot this season. I also foregot Issac Bruce over his career.

I deliberately left off guys that have been great, but aren't anymore - Isaac Bruce, Marvin Harrison are the two that come to mind. Torry Holt still has it; he just plays for a crap Rams team.

Carr Bombed

Not really. I think he's putting up some fine numbers, and obviously helping Matt Ryan a ton, but I want to see how he does next year before I vault him into such company.
Why? This isn't the first year he's put up these #s, he put up pretty much the same #s last year while the Falcons were playing "musical QBs".

I rate Randy Moss so low because of the lack of production he had in Oakland and in his record setting year last year, he had the benefit of having the best QB in the league throwing the ball to him. Steve Smith is incredible and deserving of the number 2 spot, IMO. Yes, Fitz and Boldin make each other better, but I find there to be hardly anyone better than Fitz. He has great hands, runs great routes, is a touchdown machine, and is fast. He did it in college and is doing it now. Wayne, Holt, and Boldin need no explanation. This might be a little high for Marshall but with Cutler throwing him the ball, he is going to be great for years. White did it last year and has been stellar again this year. With Ryan becoming a star, he will only get better. I rate Jennings last because he is still young but as Rodgers get better, he will move up the list. Also, he is a touchdown machine and anyone considered to be the #1 receiver over Driver deserves to be on this list.

I like this list a lot. I might play around with the order some... but really have no idea who to change and to where. WR rankings depend on my mood and time of day. lol

I do think Braylon Edwards needs to be in the mix. He hasn't had a very good year at all this year but he's definitely one of the best in my opinion. Who drops off the list? I have no idea.

Calvin Johnson should be up there too, but he's still so young. He's worth mentioning but don't know if at this present moment is better than any of them. He definitely has the upside and potential though. I think he'll develop into an elite WR.

Edwards was definately top 10 last year. Its a shame the years hes having this year. CJ was a hard one to leave off. If he played for a better team, I think he'd be top 10 too

this is real controversial but Calvin Johnson will definitely be top 5 in all of these lists a year from now. yeah i went way out on the ledge here!

I don't know what C-Johnson has done to deserve such praise but top 10? C'mon now, if this were about potential, surely he makes it but right now he's helping his team do what?

He's 2nd (T) for TD's (10)
He's 5th in total reception yards.
He's 6th in yards per game.

Reggie Wayne has the best hands in the NFL, hands down. Calvin Johnson does more with less. AJ and Smith are the class above the rest. Hard to pick between them both, so its a tie.

Unfortunately we know that too well. Rememer the TD catch from the Rosencopter game? Great catch.

 How does playing for the Detroit Lions have any bearing on how good a receiver you are ????

When the Texans went 2-14, did that make a difference on how good a receiver AJ was?
