King Picks

i don't care about Peter King at all, he's a hack, who cares what he says, he should be fired, but i'll post a thread to discuss something he said, increasing the hits to his column, meaning more money for SI, meaning more chance that King stays on

Why? So we can hear about a Sarge in Iraq? His travel bitching? His 'coffeerdness?' His daughter Mary Beth?

His column is a frigging joke - the real Peter King shows up in the print mag when he actually writes his weekly feature. The online column is him slumming and trying to stay 'current,' meaning tabloid it up and write like garbage.

And he's picked against the Titans 4 of the last 6 weeks. Guess he figures he has to be right sooner or later.

What's your problem? Some of us like his stuff. He has a very casual writing style, something I enjoy.

No problem! Hey, can't agree on everything...and I wasn't 'dissing' anyone that likes him, I just happen to not like his MMQB column. I still think his print work is the best football journalism out there too.

I admit I read his MMQB column every week, which means I must like it, even if it keeps annoying me. I like getting a long, wide-ranging review of the entire NFL, and the style is kind of entertaining - it's easy enough to skip the stuff I don't care about.

However, I think it was pretty insulting to the Texans when he suggested in his column that people should just skip watching our first Monday Night Football game, and gave suggestions for alternative shows to watch instead.
 
We never win 3 in a row either... and we never finish close games...

there are a slew of "nevers" that this team has had issues with in the past. Overcoming those "nevers" is one of the biggest hurdles we will face if we want to be a playoff team... so im glad people are picking us. It gives us a chance to overcome something that has plagued us in the past.

I'd tell the nation to avoid a game between two 4-7 teams, too. Good thing too, it was a pretty bad game for those outside battle red and deep steel blue.
 
There's actually a "King curse", when he picks you it's pretty much over........I believe he picked the Jags to reach the Superbowl.
